  1. A lot of us report reacting to lower levels of gluten as time goes on. I think that is what is happening to you rather than a flashback of symptoms.
  2. Are you eating any grains, spices, have you checked toiletries dish soap etc. carefully? Do you live in a shared household? Do you eat out of your house? I would recommend skipping all processed foods until you heal. Keep a food/health diary so that you can track where symptoms are coming from. It can take a week or longer to notice a reaction, depending...
  3. I get that build up of small amounts of gluten to produce achy joints. I think that it can work that way.
  4. T.H. makes some good points. It isn't a matter of not trusting people. There is a general lack of understanding of the types of things which might bother a super sensitive celiac. It isn't a lack of trustworthiness, it is a lack of knowledge. Even for a standard celiac there is a lack of knowledge. I was told recently by a company representative that...
  5. Skip restaurants and processed food. Good luck on getting pregnant.
  6. I have problems with processed corn, but not corn itself. I bought a big drum of corn and there is about one wheat berry per quart. Not wonder I have problems with processed corn!
  7. I am also very sensitive. Trusting people has caused me to get glutened over and over. When you are very sensitive you can't trust people. They just don't understand the tiny amounts of gluten that get us and how they can get into our food. This is the section for people like us, isn't it?
  8. It seems to me that during my period I am notice lower levels of gluten cc in the form of diarrhea. When I am really cc free I don't have D during my period, and when I have some cc, I do get D during my period. The other symptoms of gluten cc also seem to be magnified during my period. Maybe the hormones magnify the immune reaction somehow.
  9. Wegmans tangerine lime sparkling water, Wegmans organic coffee beans, Wolff's whole buckwheat grouts, Metaxa ouzo, Volcano Island white honey, Field Day Mediterranean sea salt, Bariani olive oil, Ithaca Milk Co. dairy (milk, cheese, and butter), Black Jewell popcorn, Nature's Earthly Choice quinoa, but it has to come from a particular dedicated facility....
  10. Could you be a super sensitive celiac? Try eliminating processed foods and eat only meat and produce.
  11. I think I got glutened by Wegmans a couple of days ago. I didn't eat anything different than usual. All I did was buy bananas, but the bakery is in the front of the store. I am super sensitive, but it was a serious reaction with uncontrollable D, so it must have been a significant amount of gluten. I hate it when that happens.
  12. My teenaged son gets this. He does this grunting/throat clearing thing when glutened. I worry about the kids at school making fun of him for it, but he can't seem to help it. That feeling just bugs him too much. At least you aren't alone. It seems to happen at extremely low gluten levels. I guess it's a good early warning sign.
  13. I originally felt so much better just eliminating cereal and bread. I thought it would be easy. As I got more and more sensitive, I had to cut out more and more things. Reading here helped a lot at first. Back in those days there was no sensitive section and I didn't find any information about super sensitive celiacs. I stayed sick a long time not knowing...
  14. I hope you get through it. I totally commiserate. Especially the witch thing. I hope your victims are understanding. It is weird how you just can't help it.
  15. I was off dairy for about 10 years. It took me a long time to get diagnosed. Now I can tolerate it again! I really enjoy cheese. I don't see how I would keep my weight up otherwise.
  16. To save on expenses, eat fewer prepared foods. Potatoes, carrots, pork, and rice are pretty cheap.
  17. My son and I were diagnosed at the same time. We both found that we got sensitive to lower levels of gluten as time went on. Either that or our food got more contaminated as time went on. LOL We had to cut out more and more processed foods. As the gluten free market grows, I would guess that gluten free food manufacturers are making more and more...
  18. My idiot doctor told me that it was IBS. I had it for almost 15 years before diagnosis after my son's pediatrician suggested it. It happened in the night and in the day. Sometimes I would have to get up every hour or two all night. It makes it impossible to hold a job. The only way to clean up would be to change my bottom half of clothes and take a shower...
  19. I get muscle pain from glutening too, and I'm also super sensitive. I went on a 20 mile bike ride this past weekend at a good pace and had the same problem. I had gotten glutened a couple of days earlier. Hydrating helps a lot. I couldn't sleep due to the pain and just kept getting up and drinking another glass of water. I was better by morning. I also...
  20. It might just take some time for the numbers to go down. She could be a super sensitive celiac. I didn't even know that category existed when I was first diagnosed. Some of us react to much lower levels than others. If that's the case she will need to watch everything, be in a gluten free home and not eat processed foods. You may just need to...
  21. My daughter is a senior in high school this year so I am looking at the same issues. Even worse, she is in the super sensitive category. She can't eat in restaurants, so I don't see how she can eat in a dorm. We needed to have a gluten free household. She will need to get her own apartment and live by herself. Just finding safe food will be an issue...
  22. I cut potatoes thinly and cook at 400 for 30 minutes in olive oil. You can also make other veggie chips that way. Safe and good. I can't eat processed foods. I'm very sensitive.
  23. As a super sensitive I can't eat out at all. There are so many possibilities in McFlurries, I don't even know where to start. It takes me from a couple of days to a couple of months to feel better after a glutening depending on how much gluten I consume. Once a week take out would do me in. It is hard to deprive yourself like that, but worth the results...
  24. I had problems with supplements too. Though in my case they didn't all have magnesium stearate. I think that it was minor cc as I am sensitive to very low levels.
  25. After one year gluten free I still had lots of issues like arthritis, fibromyalgia, insomia, gut pain, etc. I found that when I was more careful to avoid all traces of cc which took me another year of effort, I could be symptom free.
