  1. I would work on the grinding it myself if I were you. I sort, wash and then grind. I can understand the texture problems. I finally invested in a good grinder. I think that it is too hard to find clean starting materials, one source of cc and then too hard to make flour without adding more cc in a facility. There are shared facility issues, and cleaning...
  2. It means I go all over the floor before I can even make it to the toilet. I get urinary problems too. I have wet my bed even as an adult. When I am strictly gluten free I have none of these issues.
  3. This is an about.com article about skin conditions associated with celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link
  4. I'm sorry, at this point I am off all grains. None worked for me. There is one, Wolff's buckwheat groats, but that isn't a real grain. I am very sensitive.
  5. Have you been tested for celiac disease? If giving up gluten is giving you a lot more energy, it is a good possibility. Once you go off gluten the tests don't work anymore. You should maybe go back on it quick and get tested. Once you have been off awhile it is really hard to go back on. I get anal leakage and much worse when I eat gluten.
  6. Thanks for posting this. I wonder how many of us there are?
  7. I am highly sensitive. I stopped eating processed meats. I buy meat packaged at the meat processing plant only. They do all their cutting up in a dedicated area. That works.
  8. I depends on how sensitive he is. I know of celiacs who are able to bake with wheat flour for their families without any apparent issues. Then there is my son, who has problems if he gets near wheat. He was excused from the class with a doctor's note. He did an independent study. He cooked at home and brought samples in for the teacher.
  9. I am also sensitive to oats, and I also have problems with companies that process glluten free oats on their dedicated gluten free equipment. It eliminates a lot of gluten free companies. At this point I have become so sensitive that just about any processed food is out, but I noticed problems with oat sharing facilities early on before I got crazy sensitive...
  10. I've been freezing and dehydrating all season. I haven't tried canning yet. With freezing you can do a small batch at a time. Canning seems like such a long involved process. Shadowicewolf, you swore off canning, is that why? Should I try it, or continue to freeze and dehydrate? I bought a new much bigger freezer this year and it is still basically...
  11. My daughter,a super sensitive, had problems with Kettle chips. The rest of us didn't try them. I got them because they had been recommended for super sensitives. I noticed that they make both gluten containing chips and gluten free chips. Does anyone know if they are made in separate facilities?
  12. I believe that I react to levels of gluten below 5 ppm. That is because I reacted to a very small amount of a product which, according to the company, had been tested at just above 5 ppm. It follows, that I would react to a larger amount of something that would test just under 5 ppm. This puts super sensitives into a difficult situation. We seem to...
  13. I think that some of the answers you are getting are from conventional celiacs and not super sensitive celiacs. Often one clicks on new content and then doesn't pay attention to the subsection of the forum. It is a good idea to mention again in the post that you are super sensitive. I don't know of a good rum for a super sensitive. I'd like to though...
  14. I've eaten a banana a day for most if not all of my life. I think that is an old wives tale about developing sensitivities to stuff we eat every day. Otherwise none of us would be able to drink water anymore. You should add stuff, but wait till you are feeling better and then add just one thing a week so that you can be sure that you don't react. You...
  15. Back when I was able to tolerate "gluten free" cereals, I didn't have any problem with wax on veggies. You probably don't need to worry about it. There is a variety of sensitivities among super sensitives too.
  16. Last I checked it was just harvester and not processing equipment. They clean the harvester for 2 days and then use the first large amount (I forgot how much) for the animals. Nonetheless, I have found both corn and wheat in it.
  17. I had my second child at age 38. He is now 14 and very healthy (except for celiac) and intelligent, mainly A's in school. He was almost 9 pounds at birth, though I gained less than 25 lbs. The pregnancy was uneventful and I had him with no medications. I was able to exercise throughout my pregnancy. I hadn't been diagnosed with celiac yet, but had...
  18. Do you ask the question for reassurance? In that case, read no further. Do you ask because he has symptoms? There are different levels of sensitivity. While the majority might handle those foods just fine, there are a minority of celiacs/gluten intolerants who react to foods like that. We are the super sensitive celiacs. You need to be watching out...
  19. I suggest you find a doctor who will diagnose her based on response to diet. With recent news about gluten intolerance being a real condition this shouldn't be difficult.
  20. What have you been eating? Do you know that some celiacs get glutened by gluten free foods? Is your diet produce and meats?
  21. Acid reflux was ds's main glutening symptom. We had to cut out almost all processed foods to get rid of it.
  22. You might want to try cutting out grains and processed foods. It sounds like you might be a super sensitive celiac. Have you checked toiletries and medications? You can try adding things back in after you heal.
  23. Some celiacs are sensitive to lower levels of gluten than others. More sensitive ones can have problems living in a house with gluten, using gluten containing soaps and toiletries, or even eating processed foods. You may need to make some changes. Some become more sensitive to lower levels as time goes on. My son was diagnosed at age 10 and couldn...
  24. I hope you feel better soon.
  25. Yes, there are others who are that sensitive. I react to rice chex too. I haven't even tried those other things. Last winter I found that I even had problems with store bought produce. I'm trying to grow more of my own. I've been freezing stuff like crazy to last over the winter. At least I have control over what I eat. It's harder to control exposure...
