  1. Best news ever!
  2. That's good advice. I would just reinforce that your body is asking if not demanding the food it requires. Don't skimp on what it needs. Just give it as much safe food as it wants. But go heavy on the protein and low carb veggies and light on the carbs and sugars. In the morning a slice of safe lunchmeat chewed slowly turns me around quickly. If you...
  3. I get abdominal pain and cramping if I eat alternative grains. Since I've cut back on the grains, I'm doing well. I tolerate rice and corn the best but eat a little rice in a week and very little corn. I'm not eating any rice flour at all. I'm not eating the other flours either. Are you eating grains a lot?
  4. I've read that nightshades can cause small joint inflamation. Are you eating a lot of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant or paprika since you started eating gluten-free? You might be sensitive to those.
  5. There are reasons why your bloodwork could show negative. You could post the results here and see what responses you get. Waiting for the endoscopy is a good idea for you. Just remember that if your problem is gluten intolerance, the tests will all be negative even though you still have symptoms. Your dr can still dx you as gluten intolerant based on dietary...
  6. It sounds like one of my rashes preGF. Mine felt a little better each day after going gluten-free but took 6-8 weeks to clear up probably a little longer for the crimson-purplish shadows under the skin to clear up. You've had it much longer than I, so I don't know how long it would take you but there is a good chance it's gluten related. Give it at least...
  7. I don't have breakouts unless I'm glutened. When I was healing, I don't remember having new lesions unless glutened. I don't recall any foreshadowing of a breakout like you described.
  8. I have been married for 32 years. When we hit 30 years, we weren't able to make a big celebration but we shook hands to agree to 30 more years! When my health became an issue and I went gluten-free, he wanted to committ again. This time we agreed we both wanted to live a long life together. We committed to do whatever was necesary to insure our health...
  9. I took it for years with honey and warm water. It's really good that way. I can't do so much of it anymore. I don't know why. Maybe I can't do that much vinegar.
  10. Puppies are like newborns, they sleep a lot!! Put your hands on her body, you should be able to feel her ribs under her skin but if you feel her spine very exposed she is probably underweight. My daughters tiny toy poodle was really having excessive bm's and was thin although he ate well. The dr switched his food (sound familier?) then he was fine. I...
  11. J. Virilevilli: But Darling, your parents will love me! Pam I. Flush: Oh, Poopsie, I'm sure they will. You're so uppercrust. But, Pumpkin, what is that toilet paper stuck to your shoe?
  12. I felt their answer was honest and upfront. They are mearly saying they know the ingredients of the product should be gluten-free in their purest form hence the "Gluten Free Ingredients" label. But they also say that they will not label it made in a gluten-free facility if it is not. As has been said before, we constantly eat from non-dedicated facilities...
  13. M-m-m-m-m! Looks so good!
  14. I feel like that in the morning too. I tend to have low blood sugar anyway but now, upon waking, it's really bad. I tend to munch on Hormel Natural ham if I can't wait till breakfast is cooked. I found too if I take my B12 earlier, it tides me over a little bit.
  15. Eeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooo!!!!
  16. Gene test cannot dx celiac disease but they can be a valuable tool to evaluate the bigger picture. A positive gene test along with your family history and a positive response to the gluten-free diet are all puzzle pieces to a tricky dx.
  17. I seem to get restless leg when I forget to take my magnesium, that's key for me. It sounds to me like your body is telling you tomatoes and potatoes are a problem for you. Why not drop them for a few days and see how you feel?
  18. I take approx. 700 mg of magnesium in three doses daily. Do NOT start at this dose! Start at a low dose and add more every 3 -4 days. It will not agree with you otherwise.
  19. I've read that nightshades can cause small joint pain in persons who are sensitive. Are you eating a lot more nightshades on the gluten-free diet? They are potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and paprika.
  20. For breakfast - bakery on main granola and milk. sometimes sam's choice coffee with international delights creamer Double check your creamer, some have gluten. for lunch- either leftovers, or deli fresh oscar meyer lunch meat, cheese, a yoplait delight and some mm's I can only tolerate the Hormel Naturals lunchmeat. In the beginning, I didn...
  21. I just wanted to chime in and agree with what has been said. One week gluten-free is not enough to resolve all your problems. I saw great improvement in one week. But the rash took about 8 weeks to clear up and the neurological problems much longer. So hang in there. I'm two years in and feel 20 years younger, it's worth it to me.
  22. Do you need the dr to tell you to take the iron? Can't you just take it and see if your problems resolve? You took it before with no ill affects.
  23. I have a hard time with grains. I do best with corn. I've cut way back to very few grains.
  24. What was the difference between what you ate on vacation and at home? I don't mean what you already listed. What did you drink?
  25. What does this mean for me? Gluten did little damage? (Despite the awful symptoms!) Am I really "healthy" overall, celiac aside? I still of course refuse to touch gluten with a 10-foot spoon. But what does this mean in general? Were you looking for the blood work to tell you organ or vitamin problems? If you were looking for whether you still produce...
