  1. I just listened to the first third and it is excellent thus far! There is the standard references to "fad" diets and no mention of Celiac Disease thus far -- that said they do a fantastic job of explaining the kitchen chemistry required to make good tasting gluten-free baked goods and bread. The gentleman said something in the intro that those of...
  2. You are welcome -- if you are going to schedule a visit to a Celiac Center, I would give them a call to ask what they would like you to do if you are planning to travel to their facility -- it can be extremely beneficial and time saving to have all the necessary blood work ordered by your primary before the visit -- especially if you need to travel to get...
  3. If you wish to pursue more testing...ingest gluten at least once per day for twelve weeks - a slice of glutenous bread is sufficient. It is hard to know if your "gluten light" diet impacted your results without a gluten challenge. If your symptoms worsen on a challenge....that is also a piece of the diagnostic puzzle.
  4. Welcome! Yes, celiac disease has over 300 associated symptoms and not all people have GI symptoms. A couple questions on your testing: When you said you were tested for Agg....did you mean Total Serum IgG level? Normally a Total Serum IgA is run to be sure there is not a deficiency. Do you know if you had both tTG-IgA and tTG-IgG? I...
  5. This is the second post I have read in which you make claims that are untrue with regard to CELIAC DISEASE, While many people are healthier living grain free - I happen to be one for nearly three years - there is a big difference between the level of removing gluten contained in Wheat, Barley and Rye to prevent the disease of celiac from causing more damage...
  6. There is absolutely no doubt, you have celiac disease -- welcome to the club...I'll ask the official greeter to get the super decoder ring in the mail Ok...joking aside -- the description provided from the report is absolutely describing celiac disease. Why they did not reference the Marsh Scale is interesting. I'm sorry your GI simply said you...
  7. Sometimes Hypochondria is caused by the failure of many doctors not running the correct tests. Sometimes telling their patients they are perfectly healthy and their symptoms are all in their heads. Sometimes leaving them with actually symptoms for many years. Sometimes it is all in our guts, rather than our heads. and then sometimes folks...
  8. Hi there! No, Marsh Scale is rarely mentioned until the biopsies are level Marsh III. This is because the first two stages can be attributed to things other than Celiac Disease. Does this report mention "lymphcytes", "villi" or "crypts". Sadly, there are many variations offered by pathology labs which can make it tough to understand their meaning...
  9. You are a brand new member here. I find nothing "light" or "loving" about your comments. "Tough Love" has to come from someone that has established respect with the intended recipient. You have not established this here. While you may think you understand what it is like to have Celiac Disease because you removed gluten and feel better....I can tell...
  10. Happy Birthday Rachel!!! Glad you are now able to dump the gluten. Let us know if you have questions. I think I mighta already given you the newbie thread started by Irish, but just in case here is the link: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Hang in there and have a wonderful birthday
  11. Hi Chill! Corned Beef started bothering me in the years after gluten removal....I thought it was everything the store bought type has in it....which is partially true...it was the histamine dealio for me. Last year I brined my own brisket and had much milder reaction...since than I stopped eating any processed meats...I can't even do the uncured types...
  12. Yep...avocado is probably my number one. My family and friends miss it too because I always made guacamole for every celebration and more often during the season...used to even tote avocados back east to make it for my NY cousins
  13. Ok...that fit took me by surprise...over it now. ...don't overdo those histamines too much as it could cause allergic type reaction. Rest up, take care of the man and let us know how it goes on Thursday
  14. Oh I'm sorry Addie...my hubs wasn't a cat person...but my Shelby changed his mind...her sudden loss continues to be tough on me and the boys...and even dear hubby whom she converted. Give your man a hug from us...so very hard to lose one of our furry family members. And you feeling like crap makes it harder...but do enjoy the cheese...not really clear...
  15. How cool....I used to make eggs in cupcake form -- just mix them up and add little chunks of ham, bacon, green onions or other veggies and/or shredded cheese and bake....they freeze well for future use. Can't remember cooking time, but can look it up for you. Sure it would work well for this because you mix up as much or little as you want so the size...
  16. I agree completely with this statement. For those of us that do not heal right away -- no one has the right to suggest we are not trying hard enough. Sorry, I had enough of that prior to diagnosis - I will never let someone suggest that to me again. Glad you did not. Hang in there FE!
  17. Hi Rachel! Glad to hear you had a nice nap. Yes, I have input. Surprise, surprise. While gastritis and inflammation in the stomach can be caused by anti-inflammatory usage -- this is the first assumption most GIs make for the cause of inflammation in the digestive tract. I can only tell you my experience and that is the inflammation in my stomach...
  18. The symptoms from being glutened can be different than the symptoms he experienced prior to diagnosis. Of course there are some illnesses that can cause itching too. So tough to know. The fever is the telltale sign for me that it is a bug in addition to possible gluten symptoms. Hang in there Mom -- I hope he is feeling much better tomorrow : )
  19. I have closed this thread due to continued misunderstandings between multiple members. Wishes for the original poster's speedy recovery have been voiced repeatedly by me along with many other members. It is my hope that these good wishes are the overall message relayed herein.
  20. Yes, you did. Please see the examples below:
  21. No thank you. I have no desire to say more than I have. I agree with CaliSparrow...if you had posted this topic in a blog or even presented as a frustrated rant in Gab/Chat I never would have posted...and I suspect this is true for many that have as well. The above is stated as my opinion and a description of my actions only...if anyone is offended...
  22. Yum....and you'll fit right in here...glad to have you Dinner is shrimp scampi here...with pasta for the men, zu-noodles for me. (Note for Scott..I call my hubs and young adult sons..men... to keep it simple ...husband is gluten-free at home to support me and the boys - one of which is diagnosed celiac, the other remains non-celiac gluten intolerant...
  23. Julie- I have moved this topic from other intolerance to the gab/chat forum as you have repeatedly told us this is not a matter of your food intolerances...simply a need to voice the frustrations caused by your foot injury. Take care...I hope you are back on your feet soon. -Lisa
  24. Perhaps slam was not descriptive enough....what I meant was dismissive, contrary and without any positive acknowledgement for the time or thought that went into answering you. Now imagine how many of the words that you have used might be misconstrued. Thank you.
  25. Feel better Julie...there really is nothing I can say that will make you understand that while we are sorry you feel poorly...the long winded complaints that have been posted really do come off as needing advice to make it better -- because we are here to help each other, knowing what you can eat is essential to the way help is usually given on this forum...
