  1. Very interesting. Please update this thread as time passes. I have been able to improve some of my Histamine issues with diet and antihistamines along with heat management .... but have not been able to safely add any foods back....thought perhaps I would be able to by now...as I have been on my very limited diet for nearly two years. Anywoo...interesting...
  2. Let's all go........... . . . . . . . ...
  3. Last night: Carnitas Burrito Bar Refried White and Kidney Beans Salad Strawberry Cake for dessert. We (the hubby part of we) has successfully delayed breaking concrete to replumb our kitchen for a short time.... I ought to be more careful what I wish for....was researching how to utilize our laundry room grey water for my new veggie garden...
  4. If you already know how to cook...you know how to cook gluten-free. Don't worry about noodles...substitute rice, corn, quinoa -- or combo....you've got this. Hang in there
  5. Welcome First....don't feel bad for allowing foods that you were told would be safe for your child. Unfortunately the tests for Celiac Disease are not exact and with children it can be even more difficult to obtain an exact diagnosis. Here is the good news....you have a history of symptoms and resolution with removal of gluten. Yes, this is...
  6. Welcome HoneyBunny! Just wanted to let you know this thread is seven years old...doubtful that the original posters are still about. It is good to update product info == so thanks! Hang out....glad to see you here.
  7. I make it a third....Addie has a new goal. Gotta admit...it may be where I end up.... the amount of school ahead to be instrumental in research before I'm officially a senior citizen is proving a bit problematic for my current plan
  8. Wow. Really. This thread has strayed very far from the original post -- should someone wander in -- this is not the normal discourse found in this forum. Shall we call it done?
  9. Most doctors remain woefully undereducated with regard to Celiac Disease. They were taught the "classic" list of symptoms -- Underweight, Diarrhea, Short Stature, Childhood Disease that many outgrow. Sadly, many of the 300 symptoms associated with celiac disease are not on their radar. In my opinion, constipation not being a "classic" symptom of Celiac...
  10. Had you removed gluten or eaten gluten light before the blood was drawn? The tests are indeed all negative, but the one interesting item is your Total Serum IgA -- while it is not officially LOW - it is on the low end of normal which is common among myself, my children and grands....Only myself and my eldest child had tested marginally positive antibody...
  11. My Celiac Doctor sent me to the dietician affiliated with their Celiac Center (at the time) -- wasn't covered by insurance -- so I paid $100 and waited three weeks for an appt in which she explained what gluten was and which processed foods already are gluten-free -- it was sad really -- I had already been researching Celiac for six weeks at that point and...
  12. You have incorrectly interpreted many of those that have commented on this thread. I have the utmost respect for the research involved in finding new pharmaceuticals and vaccines. I have worked with some of the top scientists in this field and would not have figured out how to help my family without input from these Biologists and Chemists. That...
  13. Feel better soon We all need that guy Travel Safe and have FUN!!!!
  14. Happy Friday Dinner Peeps! Woke ready to say good riddance to one crap week! Have already been cooking large batches -- for me. Basil Almond Pesto Cilantro Dressing Carrot Garlic Sauce Until I get clear from whatever has been causing my issues this week I am back to meat/fish with either zuccini curlz, spaghetti squash or sweet potatoes...
  15. As I understand it: Metabolic Cancer Therapy -- removing all carbohydrates which turn to glucose in the body -- all cells, including cancer cells use glucose as fuel. When carbohydrates are removed all cells EXCEPT cancer cells can switch to ketones for fuel - thus the cancer cells are starved. Our healthy cells have flexibility in fuel - cancer cells...
  16. Lol....we have sketches of that type of garment too! I've been dealing with this heat dealio for a long time -- since I was a kid really -- just got worse each decade.
  17. As mentioned by a previous post.... There is no gluten protein associated with Celiac Disease besides what is found in: Wheat, Barley, Rye And there are no samples of Wheat, Barley or Rye without the gluten protein associated with Celiac Disease.
  18. Wow...perfect likeness! Just forwarded to the R&D team here in the house...they have been designing a bubble suit for the past few years -- sure wish they'd hurry it up
  19. Hi All...not Merry Sunshine here of late -- the flood turned into major plumbing project that we have been putting off for years...today we'll decide if we are going to crack open the foundation -- my vote is no -- temp fixes last several years around here and I'd like to put it off for a bit longer until we can remodel properly -- ie when I have an income...
  20. Any amount of gluten is enough to trigger the immune response. Once triggered it can take time for this response to stop. A tiny crumb each day is enough to prevent healing and/or cause symptoms to return/worsen.
  21. Opinions are frequently talked about in this forum -- we try very hard to make folks aware they should declare when something is their opinion or experience. If it is scientific in nature -- links to the research is expected. Opinions and experience of others is very valuable -- it should simply be identified as such to avoid confusion. Here is a...
  22. Start with a serum B12....not sure what you were watching...but start with a blood test. If the results are low....then time to supplement. Shots are important for some...but not a starting point for most. While you are having blood drawn...if you still suspect Celiac Disease -- you may wish to add: B1, B2, B6, B12, D, K, Iron, Ferritin, Copper...
  23. Last night we added a bit of basil too. Salmon grilled with Basil Aioli Rice with chopped Basil Steamed Broccoli Brownies with Coffee Ice Cream and Vanilla Whipped Cream for the family -- Laundry Room/Master Closet flood for me - Yay -- off to the laundry mat to dry everything...Hubs will take care of the dishwasher/plumbing issue after work this...
  24. I needed to take quite a bit B12 to get it to normal range after diagnosis. Still not sure the supplementation helped as much as me actually absorbing nutrients from my food -- took about one and a half years post diagnosis for my levels to all read great numbers - . At diagnosis my D was 17 and my B12 was around 190 -- was anemic my entire life...but not...
  25. not laughing here...thinking I'm going to take a backwards stroll around my silly pool -- maybe about a dozen laps as they are small laps.
