  2. there are many but I use digestive enzymes called DIgest Gold......I use several probiotics as one should switch brands occas.....And everyone has to find what works for them... I use Dr O'hirra's twelve point professional formula, align, pearls...floragen... Others have luck with other brands so I'm sure some will also tell...
  3. For the tummy try Digestive enzymes & probiotics..... you will be pleasantly surprised....
  4. Hello & welcome... I guess you can out number the gluten eaters in your house so celiac wins!!!! You don't say what state you are from but it you would mention that it would help in guiding you to friendly restaurants & such.... There is a learning curve when beginning the gluten-free lifestyle.. I don't call...
  5. I agree with Ravenwoodglass.... Call around your area to try to find a doc who understands celiac.. A hard find but they are around... If you would post your area we could help you find a "special "doc.....Most still know next to nothing about celiac... and another thing I would check out is a thyroid panel done..(...
  6. I don't know your doctor but usually they do blood tests first then go for the scope... I guess it would be up to the doctor. blood tests are less invasive....

  8. You stated his girlfriend was a nurse & should know better..... My disagree was that the medical profession has come a distance but most still are in the dark about celiac or NCGS.... most never learned about celiac in med school or nursing school... I know hundreds of nurse's & most knew little or nothing about...
  9. good luck... just remember all this tip toeing around your ex is about your daughter.. ANd I know many many nurses who get dx'd with celiac & have no clue... so I'll have to disagree with you on that one...heck much of the medical profession have no idea about celiac & even less about NCGS..... You just take care of...

  11. okay wasn't sure about that....As bad as a scope sounds its really not that bad... Our kid had one done at age 2 1/2..... can't help with an ex-husband!!! Could it be he is pushing your buttons ? You must do right by your daughter & her health is what is important here not his feelings.... so you may ...

  13. If plastic utensils are scratched & can hold crumbs & such it could become a problem. Honestly most restaurants do not use plastic. that I have ever seen when being in their kitchen.. Many do use color coded utensils to be able to separate the wheat utensils from the gluten-free utensils...
  14. so her tests came back high even though she was not eating gluten???? If she is already off gluten a scope may NOT be of any help for a confirmation....You could do DNA testing but again that does not give confirmation of celiac either...

  17. some people are not very sensitive but for others that would be a disaster for their health.... There are schools for gluten free who wish to become chefs....flour can stay airborne for over four hours...High Schools make students take auto repair & cooking ( both genders) in our area... our kids being gluten-free...
  18. corrie I too have no functioning thyroid gland due to RAI...dead in the water, they can't even find any traces of a gland on my ultrasound.... 19. Anyone can get glutened anywhere including Grandma's!!!!! You know your own family so I think you & you alone can be the judge on whether you would feel safe eating at another's home.... I have some family & friends that bend over backwards to make sure there's no gluten , others forget it , they don't care... I ...
  20. Also there could be a good chance of cross contamination issues here.... And I agree with other posters two isn't time to heal your body....another thought is you can be reacting to other foods now even though they may not contain gluten....Try digestive enzymes & probiotics as well....
  21. In my eleven years being a very strict celiac I have never been glutened by fresh veggies or fruit.........you can add cheese tray to that as well....
