  1. I live 10 minutes from Disneyland in CA and go all the time. Haven't been to Fla, but assume it's similar. Yes you can bring food in. I always have a cooler with me. I bring the soft kind and stick it in the bottom of the stroller. If you are stroller free put it in a locker and just grab a few things to take around the park. There are lots of just...
  2. I don't think anyone has found a cure for it. Drink tons of water, rest. Eat clean so your body can heal. HUGS
  3. 4 days is just the baby steps phase. The body goes through withdrawals and it takes time depending on how sick you were to begin with. It may be that you didn't need all that candida cleanse stuff, that it was always gluten. (The candida claims are dubious anyway) Search on here for withdrawals and read old threads to know what to expect and what...
  4. Mmmm shampoo. Yummy! Oh boy 7 allergens to watch out for. Wowee. That's a tough one. Thanks for the slap Janie!
  5. I add extra vanilla and a little brown sugar. My gluten eaters always love it.
  6. I am always outspoken about using gluten free shampoos and soaps as many of you have seen because of my own experience not getting better until I made the switch. Well... there is ONE product I still use with caution that contains wheat. Redken Anti Snap leave in hair treatment. When I've been swimming or to the beach a lot and my hair needs a pick me...
  7. Very interesting. Okay I will rephrase. I believe that many many people are figuring it out on their own or whatever and considering themselves gluten intolerant when really they have celiac that just didn't show up on the not so great tests. My peeve with gluten intolerance is that there is an implication that it's less serious. Know what I mean? Well...
  8. My anxiety was debilitating in the months before diagnosis. Yesterday I started having a major panic attack and sure enough- trace gluten. I had to go home, drink water and rest til it passed. Anxiety went away 2 days after being gluten free for me. When I get it now i know I've been glutened. Have you changed your shampoo, soaps, etc? That's what...
  9. We live pretty close to Disneyland in CA and go there a lot. At the City Hall they will give you a printout of the gluten free options in the park. Also there are generally more at individual restaurants that aren't even listed. TONS of options at disney. Gluten free hot dog buns, pasta, etc. And they are well trained for Cc. some of the restaurants even...
  10. Lunch was a pain for me even before gluten free. I either have leftover from dinner or I bring a bunch of foods, not a "meal" per se. Today I had chicken breast, cut up carrots, a banana, an orange, an apple and a bag of almonds. I don't eat a lot of bread but if I do have bread, I often prefer it with some honey rather than a sandwich. Glutino has...
  11. Have you talked to the kitchen manager? there may be things you don't realize are gluten free or they might be able to help you figure something out. Yes order the Gluten Free Pantry mix. And their pizza crust/french bread mix makes the best pizza!
  12. How many months gluten free? It was 6 months for me before I felt good and could handle complex foods. You might just need more healing time. It's trial and error. I could not eat tapioca starch for the longest time. Now it's fine.
  13. It can take awhile for your gut to heal. Use the search function and look at old threads about withdrawals to see what others went through. It was 6 months before I really felt good. I felt better all the time but I still had many symptoms. Your body will go wacky wonky during the withdrwals and healing phase. I read an article somewhere on here about...
  14. Take one restaurant at a time. Go in there when it's not busy and speak to the owner or manager. Find out what you can eat there. Usually asada is fine but one place dipped theirs in the enchilada sauce which contains wheat flour. I have a great little family owned place near the beach where the owners know me and know my issues. They take care of me so well...
  15. I am of the opinion that there is no such thing as gluten intolerance. The tests fail us. The tests suck and are inferior. When the tests fail people but they have celiac and figure it out somehow they are labeled gluten intolerance. I think it's all celiac and one day when the tests are more accurate they will find that out. My opinion based on lots of people...
  16. www.vinegartips.com has all sorts of beauty and cleaning product used for vingar. Love it! Never tried it on my hair.
  17. Try Biosilk leave in treatment silk therapy. Open Original Shared Link Not their shampoo and conditioner. I think they have wheat. They sell biosilk all over the place. Sometimes Costco has it. Salons always have it.
  18. Alissa you are a girl after my own heart. Let's talk products girlfriend! I have never found barley or rye in anything. Just wheat galore. Somebody posted that only cheaper products have wheat. SOOO not true. I spent 2 hours in a beauty supply and all the good stuff is wheat laden except a few. Enjoy and Biolage by Matrix are gluten free, but read the...
  19. LOL! The giving up stuff is only for the healing phase so your body can heal faster. It's not permanent, well not always anyway. I can eat dairy now as long as I don't go nuts. I can eat nightshades, tapioca and xanthan gum and all were bothering me a lot. I can't eat soy and may never be able to. It feels like I'm being stabbed when I eat soy. It's horrible...
  20. Haven't seen a toothpaste with gluten in it. I only use salon quality products. Matrix Biolage and Enjoy are two that I like Redken has tons of wheat in their stuff but they have an anti aging line that has no gluten that's very good. I use Biosilk leave in treatment after I wash and condition. I think Biosilk shampoo and conditioner have wheat, but their...
  21. It takes time to heal. There is a withdrawal period. The best thing you can do is use the search function and search for old threads on withdrawal. All sorts of crazy stuff happens for awhile. I had improvements slowly over tim, but I didn't feel really good and pretty much symptom free until 6 months. Sorry to tell ya! I had like you do. Certain things...
  22. Feel better knowing that a bunch of them have celiac and don't know it. I happily ate all those things for 40 years and walked along the beach with my ice cream cone in hand smiling and ignoring the rumbling in my gut. They estimate 1 in 100 and I've heard estimates of 30 to 40% of the population. So many of them are paying the price for eating that stuff...
  23. Drug companies sponsor seminars and training for doctors. They can't or won't find a drug for celiac. There is a drug for IBS. Hence the prevalence of it's diagnosis. I get really ticked off when people go to their doctors after a few weeks on the diet with great improvements but because it's not completely resolved they doubt the need for the gluten...
  24. Oh no! Hugs and prayers for your recovery. Keep us posted and come here anytime for support.
  25. EXACTLY!!!!! My son has violent reactions to gluten- vomiting, coughing, D, bloody noses. He was gluten light but still eating quite a bit out of the home. His bloodwork was negative. The blood tests are NOT very accurate. They just aren't. Here's an interesting list that have happened to me and others on this board. No way was anything but trace amounts...
