  1. If you can get cheerios, you will be able to get them. They are regular Cheerios. Like all the gluten-free Chex cereals are just the regular kind. It might take a few more weeks for the local stores to seek out of the old ones.
  2. Maybe you could find a therapist that specializes in people with chronic illness? Maybe call a hospital's psychiatric service and see if they could recommend someone?
  3. The statements may have been true in 2005 - 10 years ago when the original comments were posted. Thanks you for updating the info.
  4. You are replying to a thread from 2005 - I am sure the restaurant has changed some procedures and ingredients in the last 10 years
  5. My hub brought home some mixed nuts from Nuts on Clark. I looked at the website and it mentioned that the popcorn is all gluten free. But no mention of nuts. I called and someone returned my call. The nuts are gluten-free.

    ARCHIVED Fraud?

Sure, eat gluten for a few months and then get tested.

  8. I saw an article that Starbucks has changed the ingredient from last year. So last year's info won't apply. Starbucks usually says to read the containers at the stores.
  9. Open Original Shared Link Anyone going? Looks like fun. Speakers and samples! And really.... we all want samples! They are collecting for the gluten-free food pantry, too. I hope they have a good turnout so we can have ore events like this.
  10. Currently, there are no legitimate products that can minimize gluten for a Celiac. There are a couple in development but they are not available to the public. Open Original Shared Link Do supplements like GlutenEase (or Gluten Cutter, Digest Gluten Plus, Glutenase) offer protection against accidentally eating gluten? We put no validity in these...
  11. Actually, his other autoimmune disease is probably not "unrelated". One untreated AI disease seems to lead to another. He probably isn't really asymptomatic either. If he really went gluten free, he might find a lot of things, including his other illness get better.
  12. I didn't say that. I said that the ones that have wheat germ oil like to declare it on the package.
  13. Usually, hair products are pretty proud to proclaim that they have wheat germ oil in them. Maybe you could email the manufacturer and see?
  14. Sure. I suppose it could. But it also can really unbalance the good and bad bacteria in the GI tract. That can take weeks or months to get back to normal.
  15. And even if your home test is positive - your doctor won't take your word for it! He will want to do his own test.
  16. Red dye shouldn't contain gluten. It could be a problem, but it doesn't mean gluten
  17. Do persons with celiac diseases struggle with receiving a Hepatitis B vaccine that sticks? It’s well known that persons with celiac disease have a higher rate of non-response to the Hepatitis B vaccine. Most of them, however, typically respond to repeat injections. Open Original Shared Link
  18. We have had links to articles about this a few times https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/112200-children-with-celiac-disease-risk-non-response-to-hepatitis-b-vaccine-emaxhealth-emaxhealth/?hl=hepatitis https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/111761-celiac-disease-lowers-hepatitis-b-vaccine-response-medscape/?hl=hepatitis Just a couple.
  19. Probably. Unless she eats the food - I know a few little ones that share with the dog. Lol I put my dog on grain free and it has really helped him. Better skin and fur are the most obvious things I can see. I did the same for the cat and she has better poops and no more barfing except for hairballs.
  20. Ask the doctor's office. Sometimes for just an endoscopy, they don't do the full anesthesia.
  21. And never use a DIRTY microwave! That's just gross!
  22. I would think day care might be the obvious place. Of course they will be extremely careful while you are watching. Maybe keep him home for a few weeks and see if he gets better? And really, how do you know its gluten? Maybe he is having some other issue? Maybe another food allergy or intolerance? Maybe a persistent virus, etc etc

    ARCHIVED Brgr?

That's funny - I have heard the exact opposite - that the downtown one is better than the PV one! lol I think the original post is talking about a place in NYC that probably isn't related to the KC one
  24. Look for "Grain free". Gluten free, in pet food, usually means corn free only. They often still have barley. Grain free won't have any grain and is usually better for the dogs, too.
