    I'll help with what I can: Rice Krispies are a big no-no. They have malt, which is from barley, in them, so they are out. Kinnikinnick and Erewon (sp?) both make a gluten free version that you may want to try. I use Domino's confectioners, regular, and brown sugar, which are all gluten-free.   4. I'm very paranoid about gluten, so I operate under the assumption that it's possible to get glutened by anything. That being said, though, I've never seen a dish soap with gluten. I use Joy, Palmolive, or Dawn, which are all verified as gluten free. But, I would think that finding gluten in dish soap would be very unlikely. Hope this helps!
  5. I haven't tried it yet, but Enjoy Life has recently come out with a gluten-free trail mix. The nice thing about Enjoy Life is that their stuff is also free of other common allergens: soy, dairy, nuts, etc., and they are produced in a strictly gluten-free environment. It looks yummy, and you can buy it on their website (I haven't seen it in a store yet...
  6. There's a lot of controversy over oats, but the consensus seems to be that celiacs should avoid oats. Most oats (if not all oats) in the US are contaminated with wheat. Unless you're buying pure oats (there are a couple of brands out there that some celiacs eat), then oat flour or any product with oats as an ingredient is pretty much guaranteed to be contaminated...
  7. Sometimes wheat will be listed (and the new label law requires this, so only one older products would it not be) on spices if it's present as an anti-clump agent. However, McCormick's clearly labels, and I use their spices all the time. I've never tried other brands because I trust McCormick's so much (and I can find them just about anywhere).

  9. Proactiv products are gluten free; I contacted them about it, and it's also listed in the FAQ section on their pamphlet. Neutrogena makes gluten-free face powder (and possibly concealer, too). There are several lists on this site that people have posted; doing a search will bring them up (it's quite a long list). I personally use all NARS cosmetics...

  11. Some vitamins do have wheat in them; when I was diagnosed, I was using Target's multivitamin and "gluten" was listed right on the label--ugh. GNC lists what allergens their vitamins are free of: I'm soy, dairy, and gluten free, so I use their SoloDay multivitamin which states no soy, no dairy, no gluten, and some other things.   13. Which kind are you talking about? I personally use Pamela's baking mix, about 4 times a week or so for two years (LOVE this stuff--I use it as a flour substitute in recipes, too), and I've never had a problem. If it's another brand, hopefully someone else can help.
  14. I share an oven with gluten eaters and have never had a problem. I also watch out for things like pot holders and putting my cookie sheet or dish on top so there's no spill over from their food onto mine, but as far as it being in the air, that's not an issue.   15. Quaker is infamous for cross-contamination, so I would avoid their products like the plague, which is unfortunate. I, too, am wondering about purely gluten-free corn meal; I believe Kinnikinnick makes some, but I've never tried it.
  16. Yep, the plain chicken breasts are gluten-free; I eat Tyson chicken all the time. By the way, just for future reference, by USDA regulations, grains must be declared on meat. So, if it reads gluten-free, it should be gluten-free. But, I stick to Tyson and Perdue anyway, just in case. Happy eating!

  18. Based on what I've read from this forum and others, Butterball, Shady Brook Farms, and Honeysuckle are all gluten-free. However, US law dictates that for meat products, grains must be declared. So, you should just have to read the label. Beware, of course, pre-stuffed turkeys or suspect gravy packets.

  24. The main things you have to watch in these rice cereals is malt: most of the time, malt comes from barley, which is a big no-no. So, Rice Krispies are definitely *not* gluten-free.
