no passionate kissing unless he's brushed his teeth! i learned that the hard way. also, watch the ingredients on your cosmetics - i got zapped by lip gloss. and hair mousse. i found a brand that works, after spending an hour reading every label in the sally beauty supply store lol but it was TOTALLY worth it. this stuff was a 'normal' price.

i know a lady at my church who keeps telling me she is not supposed to be eating gluten. she doesn't remember why. ("just like you, arlene!" she says. i guess she thinks she's commiserating lol) i have offered recipes, sympathy, websites and advice. the only thing that she 'researched' was the price of non-gluten flours... oh, well...... let them...

ARCHIVED People Who Think It's So Easy....
notme replied to kristianne75's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
did you ever have a small child offer you a bite of their slimy, sticky cookie? and you pretend to "eat" it. that's what i do if somebody won't leave it alone. works like a charm "mmmmmmm! that is soooooo good! thank you so much!!!" smile, look him right in the eye, and get your point across. -
seriously!! ok, is this because: WE know more about this disease than most medical professionals?? the nurse (at my GI's office) called to give me my test results and then when i had questions for her she referred me to..... umm...... HERE! last month i had bronchitis that wasn't getting any better so i went to my doctor's office and saw one of the nurse...

my husband is my advocate when it comes right down to it. i am at the point where (certain people) have been explained this 100,000 times and either they don't care or they can't learn. (why in the world do people think i'm a vegetarian?????) my sister is awesome and when she came for thanxgiving, she and her husband helped in the kitchen. sis was right...

ARCHIVED Can You Have Celiac With Negative Blood Test, But Good Results On Diet?
notme replied to Ox on the Roof's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
my dr. said all my tests were negative - celiac panel, biopsies, etc. but i had already been gluten free for 2 months, and she expected they would be negative. but in the endoscopy she noted flattening of duodenal folds which is indicative of celiac disease. otherwise, i am confident in the success i have had with the gluten free diet. nothing has ever... -

ARCHIVED How To Overcome The 2Nd Wave Of Denial...
notme replied to Marz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
yep - me too funny, i did actually cut out pre-packaged foods almost first of all. (plus, they're overpriced and pretty tasteless) and eventually my cooking became all fresh/basic ingredients, fresh herbs, etc. the only huge mistake i was still making was including the gluten. it made switching to gluten-free a whole lot easier. still missing my pizza... -

i was still gassy and bloated in the beginning. it took a (month ? ) while before my intestines started feeling 'normal' - i cut out dairy until the other day. i also skipped tomatoes and various things that (now i can tell the difference) gave me gas. sunday, i made tacos for church lunch and went all out - ate extra-sharp cheddar and raw tomatoes. i...
