  1. I'm jealous of everyone and the bulbs!! But the real investing in the yard won't happen till dh and I own our house. Hopefully later this year or early next year! The soil at our house is bleh... The woman who lived there before us was supposedly some great gardner--but when we moved in it was a huge disaster---no grass--dirt, a forest of lemon balm ...
  2. Mary- Is your pain an all over constant thing or from time to time?
  3. here is a good thread on the oats debate you can read: Open Original Shared Link There are two things with oats. 1st, most oats are contaminated in the US--just part of the growing, processing/milling etc...so, most aren't safe for those on a gluten-free diet. I also have a study I can e-mail you, if you like, on 3 major brands and their results from...
  4. Tropical Source is definitely my fav gluten-free/cf chocolate--dark and rich-yum! It comes in bars and chips.

  6. When I ate dairy, I liked yoplait's policy the best...most other yogurt brands gave shady answers I thought.
  7. Candy-- Well, if you have Celiac or gluten intolerance, going on the gluten-free diet WILL make you feel better. But that doesn't mean you are cured. You can not be cured of Celiac...its with you period, and so is the gluten-free diet. Don't let your lack of symptoms fool you. Have you been diagnosed with Celiac or had Celiac-like symptoms? Or...
  8. ah, a little accountability from the 3 year old!!
  9. I didn't do Anna's yeast-free...so it may be different. But when I used her regular--it turned out great. Has a soft, fluffy texture--best I've seen so far. I do stick with Kinnikinnick out of simplicity though. I usually toast the bread before I make my sandwiches too.
  10. Do you think they messed up your serum? I had allergy shots for years--over a decade and they did wonders for my allergies. However, they weren't for food allergies, but for environmental allergies Never had a reaction. Sorry for how yours turned out! Did he have gluten or wheat in the mix to try to "desensitize" you? If so...that is crazy! You could...
  11. Well, I cked out this post b/c your name was Hoosier--and I'm from Indiana. Not sure if that's why you choose that name though! Anywho, food allergies often come in groups... and a good number of Celiacs have intolerances/allergies to other foods, as well as gluten. Are you having difficulty finding safe products or coming up with menus that are safe...
  12. Yeah, I bought some last week to use in shrimp and okra gumbo...good spice combo to have around.
  13. Well, I never thought of them as dry, but guess they do make me a bit thirsty I just eat with a glass of water handy...
  14. Lynne-- Looked up Foxglove--wow, beautiful! Just thought of the poem...and how does her garden grow?? What your planting sounds amazing! I work for a Landscape/Site Architects and we have a host of planting type books. Was looking through one yesterday on large-scale gardens. Overwhelming!! Your book would be cool to borrow! 17. Well, this is pretty much the same thing ya'll are talking about... My mom sent me a list of safety tips for protecting your credit cards a while back: Write "ask for photo id" instead of signing the back of your card. I know someone who has done this. Keep a photocopy of your cards, front and back in a safe in case they are stolen...I don't know my numbers...

  19. How long ago was the disaster?
  20. I love those cookies--Nana Banana is my favorite. Which one exactly did you eat? I haven't had problems with them. Could it be the sugar in them is stimulating your gut? They are a bit dense/rich...
  21. Good for you keeping the log! I am going to get back on it for my rosacea to try to identify triggers. Mine was in a small notebook I kept in my purse--I found it best for myself, to write in each meal or symptom right after it happened. I logged in all foods, snacks etc I ate., any symptoms I had, even small things like 'burning eyes, stomache cramp,...
  22. Hmmm...probiotics are really supposed to be good for you...however, I had one brand that I swear gave me burning D. I switched to another and notice no issues at all. Could you lower your dosage, try another brand or eat with a meal (if you aren't already...). Also--Did you make sure the supplement was free of allergens?
