  1. no it is not pointless. Working out is about fitness. The one thing I would suggest is to make sure you are eating enough to support your workouts. Being 15 and male is optimum for muscle growth but you need to eat enough to allow that to happen .
  2. Yes as my gut heals I have been able to successfully reintroduce some foods. Eggs( hallelujah ) most nightshades ( except potatoes & eggplant all though limited amounts of potato starch is ok ) , rice , legumes ( except peanuts ) , nuts ,most fruits ( although I need to watch bananas still )and most vegetables (trialing cauliflower soon) are on...
  3. Repeatedly usually by someone that had MD at the end of their name. I once had a doctor actually ask me if my husband and I were having problems when I had gone to him for abdominal pain . My former PCP ( I fired her) actually said to me that I needed to "just calm down" and take the drugs ( Antidepressants and antianxiety ) she wanted to prescribe...

  5. I agree ,,, No food should be eliminated from ones diet unless it is detrimental to ones health and well being . I for one worked long and hard to determine what was safe for me to eat and what was not. it is a tedious process but for some of us it is required to regain our health .
  6. It took my elimination diet for me to realize that chicken was an issue . I , like you, thought it was a safe food. My suggestion would be to eliminate chicken ( including the broth) from your diet for a week or two and then try it again. If not a problem it will reassure you it is a totally safe food .
  7. The chicken stock ( home made or not ) would get me . For some reason I can tolerate turkey but not chicken . Give your slow cooker a good cleaning and it should be fine

  9. I love fresh brewed ,fresh ground (unflavored ) Coffee ,, I ♥ mine black but I am sure you have checked anything you add to your coffee ( creamers , sugar ect. are a potential source of CC and /or gluten ..) Even though gluten free, coffee was causing issues for me . ( but EVERYTHING was at that point ) I eliminated coffee altogether ( horrible t...
  10. I have seen threads addressing pet food as a CC issue ,, that is why many of us feed our pets gluten free food.
  11. I can assure you (that for me) that is not the case .
  12. Since your appointment with your new Doctor is not until September I would suggest getting a glucose monitor and testing/ watching your blood sugar until your appointment . .
  13. Thanks for the link and I know you are right , a calm ,concise letter will get better results . I just get sooooooooo very frustrated this is my health they were messing with. The very people that are there to help me are actually doing harm . I have worked very very hard to regain my health and their ignorance puts me at risk
  14. After having surgery, all those meds and spending the night in the hospital it is back to safe meals only for awhile . Browned ground lamb, cooked organic brown rice stir fried with red onion in olive oil with a side of fresh organic peaches I am in safe meal HEAVEN
  15. The think what has taken me aback the most ( besides their complete ignorance of celiacs ) is I thought I was prepared . I had it all planned out . I did not realize there where " rules" that would prevent me from bringing my own food from home .
  16. Oh I plan on it ,, I am not sure I will wait until get my survey ,,, I am still enraged over this ,,, I may call the hospital on Monday to complain .

  19. Last Thursday I had surgery to repair an abdominal hernia. It was supposed to be a one day surgery. I knew there may be a chance I would have to stay over night and though nothing of it ( I had planed on having my daughter bring me food from home) Well the best laid plans Things did not work out as planned and it was a dietary nightmare . I ended...
  20. Both the 112 mcg and the 200 mcg are pink . The 125 mcg ( which I take ) is light brown.
  21. I take name brand Synthroid and have for the past 25 years. I have never had a problem with name brand Synthroid as it is gluten free.
  22. Most people do not realize that leg cramps can be a symptom of thyroid diseases ... Have you had your thyroid checked?
  23. I apologize if I in any way sounded condescending. It truly was not my intent .
  24. the difference may be that I have been gluten free for almost 4 years . At 9 months gluten free I was still grieving the loss of gluten and was ( like you) searching for a gluten free bread that was the same ( taste ,texture ) as gluten filled bread . Now, after almost 4 years gluten free there is absolutely no temptation or desire for gluten in any...
  25. we see this with obesity. A "disease" that is treatable with diet and the pharmaceutical companys are constantly coming up with new drugs to "treat" obesity. And many people buy and use those drugs rather than change their eating habits . Sad that something so "treatable " ( with proper diet ) as obesity has become such a money maker for drug companys...
