  1. I promise if you make the Chebe bread sticks people will like them. My dad liked them and he's a bread snob. I almost fell over.
  2. Read these fact sheets - very informative. Open Original Shared Link
  3. I had what I thought eas the beginning of a hump when I was on steroids for the rash. It has gone away...I did have adrenal issues at the time, they were on overdrive. I also carrying fat on my upper chest/back so it was a hard call for me. I got off steroids and got off gluten. Over time it went away.
  4. Are you on steroids?
  5. I agree, when dealing with those who aren't experienced with gluten cc risks/handling it's best NOT to serve gluten at all. I do the same as Karen, above with burgers. Waste a lot of condiments, too because I spoon it out in bowls for them. And waste leftovers because invariably they don't eat them. I don't trust ANYTHING if I let people eat gluten...
  6. Nachos (if I have chips) or quesadillas (always have corn tortillas and refried beans and cheese).
  7. Where of you buy the individual packs?
  8. I honestly think it could be anything. I think it was volume... I had steak and baked potato and green beans and dove chocolates. I should have stopped halfway through the meal because my stomach started cramping. But I was sooooo hungry. Yesterday morning, same foods (minus potato) didn't cause an issue. A bug is a bug is a bug. Bad bug go away...
  9. I can't say anything that hasn't been said already...except right now you see gluten-free as "another thing" on top of thyroid and arthritis. Soon (each of us follows our own path) you will probably view gluten-free as a saving grace. Generally, when you are suffering from multiple ai issues going gluten-free relieves a lot of symptoms related to all of...
  10. Yes, it was the "official pit area"...I put the deoderant there but it would smear outside the area. The rash was slightly in the outer regions of the pits, but the center-most part of my arm pit was clear. The rash radiated out from that area. It was quite impressive.
  11. Ironically, I've found canned salsas to have less "crap" in them than the fresh ones sold at stores. I haven't eaten at my favorite Mexican place in a while, but when I do I take my own chips in a baggie in my purse. The salsas are fine (they make 3 great ones) and I get my own salsas seperate from everyone else. I did ask the manager if the salsas...
  12. I suggest she be tested for autoimmune diseases in general, if not Celiac. She sounds ai..,and when I say that I mean the weirdness of it and the fact doctors can't dx it. Ai is often the culprit. 1) there's no correlation between tsh numbers and the severity of the symptoms. Having a "slightly off" thyroid is like having a slightly broken leg, get it...
  13. Oh yeah. I had a rude awakening last night. Today was better, so far.
  14. When I'm glutened sometimes I must lay off the vitamins a while. Probiotics, enzymes yes. Vitamins, D's, iron - no. Just a thought. Gives me nausea and makes me feel gross and exhausted. When my stomach settles down I start them back up. Did they test you for Hashimotos? if you had a high tsh and are Hashis gluten-free may help but I doubt it will fix...
  15. Cats want ON anything you pay attention to: books, newspapers, computer. It's their way of asking you to reassure them they are the most important thing in your world??
  16. Yum, good tequila!
  17. There are sugarcane based vodkas like Ciroc. Rum is sugarcane based. Be careful of flavored ones. I like hard apple or pear cider - Wyder's or Strongbow are my favorites. Hornsby's wasn't considered gluten-free but for some reason I think that has changed? Look it up.
  18. In all fairness, there are a lot of chronic skin rashes that flare at an injury site. And yes, DH is one of them. Sorry you got a flare, that sucks. Hopefully something interesting comes out of the biopsy. Sometimes a finding of iga is a big help, even if it isn't in a DH pattern.
  19. Honestly, from what I've seen here on the board...I wouldn't go the testing route. If I started to lose foods, or didn't experience improvement, I'd try a gut healing diet like SCD. I believe scd relies on raw milk kefir but you can use water or coconut kefir. It just seems to me that SCD or something like it helps people heal, then the systematic introductions...
  20. Oh my word. Not only was he untrained, uninformed, and willfully ignorant...he's also an ass.
  21. This board is full of people whose symptoms of glutening change over time. My symptoms, now that I'm gluten-free, have changed 3 times in a year. Most people on a challenge find they are symptomatic, they just MAY be different than earlier symptoms. Her itchy scalp and tongue sores may be symptoms. She may develop more classic symptoms as she goes...
  22. BTW Gevalia hasn't ever called back. Or if they did, no message.
  23. I agree it's inflammation. In my case, I had a very positive anti-inflammatory response when starting thyroid meds. Without doing anything else, the pf went away in 2 months. I had some flare ups around the time I went gluten-free. The spiky things were miracle workers during that time, and before I got on thyroid meds. I've seen pf mentioned several...
  24. 1) you really don't see as much mention of a gluten-free diet affecting gluten antibodies in skin in the U.S. literature. But if you don't have "active" DH how did he take a biopsy? How did he determine WHERE to take it? 2) I've read apx. 40% of DH patients test positive on blood work. Also, that DH patients are less likely to be GI biopsy positive. I...
  25. I have what I think is Dyshidrotic eczema on my pinkie. It popped up after the flu in March. I vacillated on what it was...DH, irritation, Herpes Whitlow... Well, it doesnt spread - whitlow out. It can go away almost overnight - DH out (unless I'm on steroids, which I'm not). It is sensitive to water and irritants like food (acidic foods, especially...
