  1. I have a treadmill, and it works really well for me. I feel more comfortable doing my excercise at home. In addition, I have a Pilates machine here, too. I think what works well for one person, for whatever reason, may not be right for another. I say find what fits into your life and abilities, and do it!
  2. Hi, you can find it here-- Open Original Shared Link I moved it to the "Related Disorders and Research" forum.
  3. I agree with Tiffany that the first meal of the day kind of sets the stage for the rest of the day. The worst thing I can do is start off with just fruit alone--have to add the protein!
  4. I'll throw my 2 cents in here (cuz, well, when don't I ) I have never been diagnosed with Hypoglycemia, but have experienced the cold sweats, shakyness, dizziness and nausea from not eating enough/often enough/the right combinations. I have fruit for breakfast (can't do grains much), but top them with sliced almonds. Sometimes, I'll microwave...
  5. Well, she's very lucky to have you as a "coach", Nancy! Best of luck to her!
  6. Nikki , I'm so glad that you had such a relaxing vacation without constantly having to worry about food! How wonderful for Terry that he could eat in almost any restaurant there
  7. I use only spring water, and the brand I buy is always on sale one place or another. I agree, it's a relitively small price to pay for the benefits it offers. I feel so much better since I stopped using the filtered water--I assumed it was the coconut hulls in the filters themselves--probably the absence of flouride has an effect, too. At some point...
  8. I've been wishing that for some time, now...
  9. Hi Tiffany Great news about the schools stocking up on gluten-free foods for the kids who need them. A real step in the right direction, I'd say! I don't eat Glutino, unfortunately, because they tend to use soy in the products that I've seen. Too bad, because Wegman's has a very good selection of their foods. Glad you found a yummy candy bar...
  10. I went the hard way, and through figuring out which foods that I am intolerant to, came to eat this way. Kind of by process of elimination! I eat meats, veggies (including root), fruit, nuts, olive oil and spring water. When I eat this way, I feel better, clearer, and can maintain a good weight. I sometimes sneak in a little dark chocolate--but too...
  11. I agree with you, Liz. I took Decadron (injected long lasting steroid) many times when I was so sick and the doctors (a GP and an ENT) didn't know what else to do with me. They did offer relief, for sure, but I found out too late that they cause all sorts of long-term side effects. At the time, the doctors down-played the potential risks, saying...
  12. Thanks, Steve. I am going to try doing that. I seriously could eat bacon every day
  13. Leah, I'm so sorry about your friend, Jane. Her spirit will live on in your heart. I'm glad that she got to be with her son, and that she was surrounded with love when she died.
  14. I've never heard of this, but from what you said, it sounds like a real possibility for you. Do the meds for "traditional" migraines do anything for this type? Maybe do some investigating to try and find a specialist who is familiar with these.
  15. Hi Lorka, I finally took the time to sit back and read through your recipe blog. What a wonderful job! The recipes and the pictures look fabulous! Thanks for taking the time to share all of your creations with us!
  16. Can you share your recipe? That sounds really good
  17. Hi Judy Yep, I have a dial tone this morning--it wasn't there at 11 last night Pretty gloomy over here, too. I guess we did need the rain, though, Too bad it's supposed to stick around this weekend.
  18. Miamia-- I'm right there with you! I'm really glad you posted because it's been in the back of my mind for a long time now. By putting it "out there", maybe others will have thoughts and something will jump out. I remember I figured out about the coconut water filters during a discussion here the didn't even start out talking about that...
  19. Miamia-- I've had the exact same thought! When I first went gluten-free, I felt better than I had in years. That lasted about 5 months, and then I was back at square one, symptom-wise. I don't know about a component in gluten that is good for us, but I think there's something to the idea that after the gluten is removed, something else changes...
  20. Open Original Shared Link Look at post # 7--gotta run!
  21. So...you figured all this out by the time you were 13? Amazing--it was all I could do to follow the story
  22. You're a good friend! I had every one of those symptoms! Tell her that she should ask her doctor to do the Complete Celiac Blood Panel. She should not try going off gluten until after the test. I wish someone had told me this while I was still in my 20's. I was just diagnosed last year at 49. I have many lingering health problems and other...
  23. As I said in the other thread, most Neutrogena lip products are gluten-free. All Smashbox Cosmetics are gluten-free. All Ecco Bella *cosmetics* are gluten-free. (Some of their other products contain gluten) I was told by the company (via email) that all Bare Escentual Lip Products are gluten-free, but I would still check on individual products....
  24. Stash Teas are all gluten-free. They have a Licorice Spice Tea-- Open Original Shared Link
  25. A lot of Neutrogena lip products are gluten-free. I use the Moisture Shine Lip Gloss.
