  1. Yup--Cuisinart--I love mine!
  2. Hi--First, don't get rid of your Kitchen Aid! Give it a thorough cleaning, and (this is a tip that Richard--lovegrov--gave me) run it empty to shake loose any flour that might be left over. You do need to replace the collander. Those tiny holes can hold on to gluten from regular pasta. The square pans are fine, also. Just be sure they're scrubbed clean...
  3. Wow Ms. SS--That was great! Just think of all of the people you educated in that one call. There may have been someone out there who was looking for an answer, and you gave them food for thought. I know that here in NJ, there is a radio station that is all talk on weekdays--when I get up enough nerve, I want to call in and do the same. I hope I don't...
  4. Thanks Cindy--I did see that. Good exposure--a lot of people read Parade!
  5. Armetta--Your lunch sounds fantastic! Your guests were very lucky
  6. Lynne--I just want you to know that I was incredibly moved by your post. Sweet lady, despite your physical disabilities, from what I know of you through your posts, you have a beautiful, couragous, generous spirit that has been so inspiring to me. You always seem to be there with just the right words, even if you are not replying to me specifically. Please...
  7. I agree with the others. I found this site about 2 months after I was diagnosed. Everything I need pertaining to Celiac--info, support--is right here. This is the only board I am involved with, so I really don't know about any others that may be out there.
  8. OMG--those blackflys were the worst! I grew up in Syracuse, and I remember when they came out, we'd have to run inside or get swarmed
  9. Oh Rache--try not to worry. I know it is hard not to. Quite possibly the doctor has an idea why you've been so sick--at least that way you'll know and can begin to get better. Please let me know what they say on Monday--still keeping those good thoughts coming your way
  10. Annette--Thank you for the great explanation. I had undiagnosed Celiac for, I figure, about 20 years. By the time I was diagnosed last June, I had neuropathy (although I had no idea what it was, and it scared me to death). I had numbness and tingling in my face--mostly on the left side, which gradually moved down to the arm, side, and then my legs started...
  11. Ms.SS--How cool! Tell us about it
  12. Through trial and error these past 9 months gluten-free, I have cut out all of the other grains, except sorghum, which I only eat once or twice a week--and never 2 days in a row. Eliminating gluten only worked fine initally, but the other intollerances soon made themselves known. I do best with meats, veggies, fruits, nuts (not peanuts), olive oil, pure...
  13. Carole--That's good news! I used to subscribe to Dr. Lark's newsletter--I didn't renew this time.
  14. I meant to say this earlier, but your nursery sounds so adorable!
  15. I always hated the word 'wound'--my mouth looks strange when I say it, and it's just an icky word!
  16. Thanks Deb--that was a nice thought! By the way, how have you been? Haven't talked to you in a while--really appreciated the info. on neuropathy.
  17. Monica--Last year before I was diagnosed, my GP did an O & P (ova and parasite) workup on me. I had to take 7 stool samples over 3 days. Then I took them in the little vials they provided to the lab where they also took a blood sample. A week or so later, my doctor had the results. This was covered by our health insurance. I tested neg.
  18. Rusla--You do know that most of your readers here suffer from brain fog, don't you?
  19. I think I've gone to that doctor
  20. Cassidy--I saw an allergist 2 weeks ago for the first time. I really liked him and he not only understood what I meant by food intolerances, he told me he was intolerant to some foods himself. I asked him about the blood tests offered by some of the independant labs for intolerances. He told me that they resulted in many false positives--because when you...
  21. Any fresh cut, plain meat would be gluten-free. By law, if there was anything added to it, they would have to disclose it. Did the person you spoke to know what gluten is? I only ask, because I've spoken to people who really don't know. Was there an ingredient list on the label with the phone number?
  22. I trust them, too. Kraft is one of the few mainstream companies that I have not had any problems with.
  23. According to the CSA Product Guide, all Pepsi products are gluten-free. The guide I have is from around August of last year. Is Pepsi One any newer than that?
  24. Ooh--thanks! We love stuff like that--I'm adding that to the Stauffer's note!
  25. I love my husband and I love that our 2 sons have grown into young men that we're proud of. I love my house--after 5 years, it's finally done and it's perfect! I love to wear sandals I love that it's almost baseball season--Go Braves! I love music, all music, especially Country I love to open the windows and let fresh air in ...
