    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

Gosh Lisa--I don't know what to say.. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't fit you in if they really tried! And they know you have been having accute pain. Will they at least call if there is a cancellation? That might move it up a little. I wish I could offer more--How are you feeling now? Any better?
  3. Paulina--Me too! I spent some time yesterday looking over the info Jen posted links to. I found that I already am eating a very similar diet to this. The exceptions are potatoes, and I do not eat dairy. Almost without exception, I eat things from the legal list, and except potatoes, nothing from the illegal. I have also begun to take Culturelle--a probiotic...
  4. My local Acme sells Cooks--I would check with your grocery stores, possibly one of them carry it.
  5. Taffy--Your poor son . What a frightening thing to go through. I am so glad you found out what the problem is. Hope he continues to improve quickly--I'll keep you both in my thoughts
  6. What a wonderful husband you have! Happy Birthday
  7. God help us all
  8. There are many (200) symptoms of Celiac. Everyone's symptoms are different--that's one of the many reasons it is misdiagnosed so frequently. My symptoms included: Nausea, anemia, lightheadedness, D, depression, anxiety, numbness and tingling in face, left arm and feet, frequent burning sensations in face and feet, palpitations, fatigue and reflux. Most...
  9. I know for sure that Heinz Ketchup is gluten-free. I use it often
  10. I know it's a pain to check everything! You mentioned fish oil-- I use Carlson's Cod Liver Oil--lemon flavored. Good luck with all your suppliments!
  11. When something says "wheat free" as opposed to "gluten-free", I wouldn't use it. Unless, of course, you call and speak to a person who can explain exactly what's in there. Hard to say anything beyond that, as I don't know which products you are refering to. I use Centrum--those are certified gluten-free.
  12. Nini--you're an inspiration to us all
  13. Sorry you both had to go through all that--I guess we're all in the same boat
  14. Angel--Yes, you need to be careful of your makeup--especially lip products. Really, anything that can get into your mouth, like lotions, shampoo, conditioner, etc. must be checked for gluten. Even if you don't feel a reaction, small amounts of gluten over a period of time will cause damage to your intestine. Bare Escentuals makeup (which I and others here...
  15. It sounds like you were on the phone a LONG time! Thanks for posting
  16. I have never tried their products--there was a long thread about it not too long ago. From what I remember, there were several people who reported problems with Amy's.
  17. Rachel--That sounds great! I'm glad that you've found a way of eating that agrees with you. And I'm happy you're feeling better--was a little worried about ya there for a while
  18. Yes--I never really knew there was such a thing . On the link above, I saw that it was possible to make yogurt from almond milk--there was even a recipe for homemade almond milk. I would like to try that sometime.
  19. Hi Angel--and welcome . Come here anytime, there are a lot of kind, knowledgeable folks here who will be happy to answer any questions you might have. We've all been throught it, or are going through it and really understand. I'm sorry about your recent reaction. The weight gain is a good sign--do you feel well most of the time? If you're having any...
  20. Carole--that would be me with the tapioca starch problem. I feel that it gives me far worse symptoms than rice--the baking mix that included both of them caused me a gluten-like reaction. Really bad. I am doing much better off of all the grains except sorghum--but only 1 or 2 times a week, I don't want to become intolerant to that, too.
  21. Turtle--How funny . Keep at it--you'll become an expert gluten-free chef in no time!
  22. Wow Nikki--that's a lot to keep straight! Thanks for explaining that Hope your husband is doing well.
  23. I don't buy a lot of specialty products and flours because I can't tolerate them. I pretty much stick to naturally gluten-free foods that I buy at the reg. grocery store. About the only exceptions are Vance's Dairi Free, and Enjoy Life Cookies. I get my Lara Bars at the reg. grocery store, too. When I first started the diet, I went wild with the breads...
  24. Hi Dani--I found the 'Rice Intolerant' thread for you-- Open Original Shared Link Talk to you later
