  1. Betty--I also was not one to get better in a matter of weeks. Although the D subsided rather quickly, I had other issues that came and went with almost no clue as to why. I began to do a bit better late in the fall, but in mid Dec. began to get reflux--strange because I was not bothered by it before. I am still dealing with it--I have a lot of upper ab...
  2. It is listed on the gluten-free drug list at www.glutenfreedrugs.com.
  3. Just another thought--diverticulitis causes lower-left abdominal pain and fever. If you are still having the pain and the fever, I would call the doctor to be safe.
  4. Robbin--I am so glad that it helped! I posted it because I found it interesting, and true in my case, also. I hope you get things sorted out for your son--lucky him to have a mom who is determined to get to the bottom of it
  5. Karen--My MIL makes that, she calles it 'boiled dinner'. She does not use the turnips, and uses a fresh ham. I really like it!
  6. Gee, that is interesting. I don't use it as I am dairy free. My son uses it, usually just when he eats ice cream. Your daughter may just be on to something
  7. Full disclosure here!
  8. Ditto on the corn--and spinach! I don't have trouble with onions as long as they're well cooked.
  9. 2old4--So sorry you are sick . I see that you are in the northeast. I know that here in NJ, there is a stomach bug going around. This thing is severe and affecting enough people that they closed a high school on Friday because of absences and to disinfect! I believe that the aching and fatigue you are still having are part of the whole thing--that vomiting...
  10. Thanks--yes, I do remember reading that some other's on here take it. I think I'll go to CVS tomorrow and get some. Maybe it'll help speed things along a little!
  11. I was all excited to think there was a new test!
  12. Hang in there! I have neuropathy--and had a lot of pain on the bottom of my feet. It probably took 6 months or so before it went away. Even now when I get the tingling and numbness, I don't get that pain anymore.
  13. I don't know if this will help, but I was having the exact same symptoms as you in mid December. Up until then, I had been doing pretty well (since June). Around that time, I was baking Christmas cookies and for the first time was using a rice/tapioca/potato starch mix. I was having nausea, cramping and D daily. I eventually narrowed it down to the tapioca...
  14. I've been using Phazyme on the advice of my GI. The softgels are gluten-free. The fast dissolve tablets are not.
  15. I will do that! Thanks

Veronica--That's what I always thought about inhaling the gluten! I no longer keep wheat flour in my kitchen at all. It makes perfect sense.
  17. Maybe it is a virus--you said it feels 'different'. Right now, here in NJ, there are stomach viruses going around and affecting so many people, they actually closed a high school on Friday so they could disinfect!
  18. That is wonderful to hear, Lollie! I always have had the same issues with travelling as you--I just find it easier to stay home . Stories like yours are just what I need to hear--I am not staying at home all summer this year, I'm determined to go away--at least for a long weekend! Thanks
  19. YUM!! Gonna have to try that one .. PS--I second the black olives in the salads--when Acme has them 10 for $10, I load up!
  20. Lisa--Thanks, that's good to know. I went and checked the CSA Product Guide, and it wasn't listed, so I'm glad you found it
  21. B--Sorry you feel bad today . I don't have any experience with the chips, but I do eat Sun Maid Dates all the time and never have a problem. Do you think it might be CC with the chips? I had that happen to me with Utz. Another thought--are you OK with soy? I know that Glutino uses soy flour in some things. That's all I can think of--feel better!
  22. The diner situation is what I think I miss most. I live in South Jersey, and it is just a part of life to go the diner for breakfast on Sunday, or lunch whenever. Is the CC danger really worse there? I haven't gone since my dx., but I really hate to think I have to give up going forever. I'm sad all of a sudden talking about it--any good experiences or...
  23. B--I love eat a spoonful of peanut butter and wash it down with orange juice! I can't believe the stuff I share on this site
  24. Heather--Thank you for sharing your experience and the helpful tips!
  25. Tiffany--Great to hear about your meeting with the nutritionist! I don't take a probiotic--which one are you taking (or going to take)? If it would help with healing, I would be willing to try it.
