  1. Rachel--How awful --hope you're feeling better today!
  2. I just tried Envirokidz Panda Puffs--the peanut butter ones--and I really like them.. I like to use cereal as a snack.
  3. I agree--those were my feelings, too when I read it.
  4. Dove milk and dark chocolate bars and 'promises' are gluten-free--and my favorite
  5. I am in the process of reading Dr. Green's book and saw the part in question. I will be sticking with my gluten-free products. I know I was glutened by a hair gel that contained wheat. It did not (I don't think) go through my skin--I bit my fingernail! I do not want to have to think about it--the products I now use have no gluten and are even made in...
  6. THIS IS A DUPLICATE POST. PLEASE REPLY HERE: Open Original Shared Link
  7. I do the same thing--find out something is gluten-free and agrees with me and I will keep eating it! I really need to get a grip on this
  8. Hi Nathela--I use Bare Escentuals. I love it and used it even before I knew I had to be gluten-free! I get mine through QVC. It is also available at Sephora. The makeup line is mostly gluten-free. The skincare line, however, is not. I have an e-mail that I have posted from BE that states which products are gluten-free. If you want me to post it, or...
  9. When I go in for a cut, I now just have the stylist rinse my hair with water. I take a shower in the AM and wash my hair, so it's clean. I also request that no products be used. My stylist dosen't mind at all and said that several other people request 'no products' because that is just their preference. I doubt very much that a stylist would mind it if...
  10. Nini is the person offering the newbie kit--you could PM her with your e-mail address.
  11. Be careful when it comes to Phazyme--my doctor told me to take it so I e-mailed the co. They told me that the softgels were gluten-free, but the fast acting tablets were not. This e-mail was sent in late Feb. 06.
  12. Jessica--Wow thanks, I never knew there were so many other uses for the sheets! Will be using some of those
  13. "Personal responsibility"--now there's a novel idea!
  14. I get uncomfortable if I don't have something after about 3 hours. Much longer than that, I begin to feel a little queasy, with some painful stomach gurgling.
  15. Shirley, How does the fabric softener work against them? Sheets or liquid? My husband is allergic to bee stings, and the bees love to make their homes in and around our deck and gazebo!
  16. Alex--The symptoms you describe could very well point in the Celiac direction. I'm glad you had the blood work, and if it is indeed Celiac, you should be happy to have found out! The gluten-free diet will begin to allow your body and system to heal, many of your symptoms will begin to subside. Celiac is a lifelong autoimmune disorder--but is very treatable...
  17. We just always had the internet for the boys. I never used the computer much at all. Everything changed when I happened onto this site while looking up an ingredient. At first, I wasen't sure how to even post! I had to ask my son about a bunch of things. But I was so "hungry" for information and the ability to talk to others living with this, that I...
  18. Thanks--I'll have to check and see if I can still catch it!
  19. Ha--my oldest son used to always do that!
  20. My new favorite thing is Lara Bar--Pecan Pie flavor--so good
  21. I love their breads, too. I only keep it out for a few days after bringing it home. After that, I store it in the freezer. It freezes great. I actually just freeze it in the bag it comes in, making sure to reclose tightly. I then would either toast it, or let it thaw at room temp.
  22. I knew about the Stax, but I did not know about the ruffles! That's great--does that include the Natural Reduced Fat Ruffles or just the regular ones? I eat the Nat. Ruffles and the Thick Cut Sea Salted with no problems.
  23. Hi Mary--It sounds like your allergist dosen't really know anything about Celiac. The notion that you have to be underweight is an old one that a lot of doctors still believe. Celiac is not an allergy, but an autoimmune disorder. That does not mean that a Celiac can not have other allergies. A true allergy to yeast would be proven by an allergy scratch...
  24. I polish all of my copper bottom pots and pans (and tea kettle) with lemon and salt. Put some salt in a small flat plate, cut a lemon in half--dip the lemon in the salt and rub over the copper. Works like magic--and no chemicals!
  25. Vincent--since I've been off dairy for the past couple of years, I can't help ya. Good luck, though on your quest
