  1. I contacted Loreal by phone about 2 months ago--they told me that the Feria Haircolor (the one I use) has no gluten ingredients whatsoever. I used to use John Freida--loved their straightening balm--but after getting the same response, I got rid of it all, too
  2. Claire--I found the article most interesting and encouraging, also. I have an appt. with an allergist, who's nurse told me on the phone tests for food allergies and also does the RAST test. I told her I was a Celiac who seems to be having issues with other foods. I go the 1st. week of March. I've looked into the independant labs--I may still try going...
  3. Susan--that's a really interesting question! I don't know where you could have it done, but I'm sure someone will.
  4. Could have been CC from either product. Sometimes the reaction dosn't show up for a while. It varies from person to person. That's what makes this thing so difficult--in addition to everything else, you have to be a detective--feel better
  5. I actually have my own machine--the Pilates Premier XP. I love it! I got it about 2 years ago. It's a good workout--but you don't sweat, just work on the muscles in a gentle way. I find it helps my posture, and keeps me toned. The workout I do takes about 20 minutes. I have a cardio-board, also, that I use if I can--meaning if I feel up to it.
  6. Sorry you're feeling so bad today . Just my opinion, but I think that the Van's waffles may have been the culprit. I used to eat them, and thought they might be a problem, but it was early in my recovery, and a lot of things were still slipping into my diet. After not having them for a while, I ate them one morning--a day where I had to pick my son up...
  7. I really don't lament the change in diet or even the loss of spontinaiety in eating out. I just wasn't prepared for the long, uneven healing process involved. I still have digestive and other issues, sometimes from an obvious gluten exposure, and other times the source is a mystery. No doubt, other foods have become a problem, but after 8 months, I guess...
  8. Becky--try here: Open Original Shared Link I also could not find it in any of the stores near me. I called and was able to buy just 1 carton to try. I also got the container/mixer to use with it. The woman I spoke to said that I could also use it dry, as a creamer in my hot tea. I have not tried it that way yet.
  9. Thanks for posting! I got the same response from them, and it came within a very few minutes of my e-mail to them. I love their spread--I use either that, or Smart Balance.
  10. I've heard good things about Mr. Ritts in Philadelphia--have not tried them yet, myself.
  11. I just tried Vance's 2 days ago--I absolutely love it! I haven't had my tea the way I like it (creamy) in such a long time. I have also made hot chocolate with it--mmm. I'm looking forward to using it in lots of other things. I cannot use soy or almonds. I had been using Pacific Rice Milk--but began to have a reaction to that. Plus, the rice milk did...
  12. Jilly--Just want to welcome you in here and let you know that I understand your fears. I was ill for years--and had not even heard of Celiac. My dad had the early stage of colon cancer (thankfully he is still doing fine) and I was afraid that my problems had something to do with that. I saw a gastro. last spring, had the endo. and colo. (the colo. because...
  13. Dani and B, you both make great points--I think I wanted my diagnosis to be "it"--the answer, do it right and everything will be great. I wasn't prepared for what came next, the ups and downs of this thing. Like I said, for me, it's a new normal. Not like before, but like you say, before was not so great. I had no 'restrictions' but I also never really...
  14. Yea--talk about a 'double whammy'!!!
  15. Hi Tiffany--if I were you, I would be concerned and urge your sister to have her tested. I had a 'sensitive stomach' as a child, too. During my teen years, it went away, and came back when I was in my 20's. I understand that such a pattern is common. I have 2 neices--one of my sisters has no children, these are both from my youngest sister. After I was...
  16. I think it's a grain that's a cross between wheat and rye. I've seen it on lists that say what Celiacs should avoid.
  17. I know their truffles have barley in them.
  18. Just wanted to say--hope you feel better soon
  19. Oh Lisa--I wish I could reach in and give you a big hug -- that's the 'mom' in me speaking . I completely understand how it feels for your family to blame your health problems on nerves. I was always considered the 'sensitive one'. Instead of helping me get to the bottom of the problem, it was just passed of as nerviousness, or some other stupid thing...
  20. I remember finding an onoin ring in my fries at BK--pre gluten-free. I always thought of it as a bonus, back then, 'cause I loved the onion rings
  21. Hi Becca, and welcome! That's great about you're being a 10 year cancer survivor . Just my 2 cents here--although I had stomach problems for years, it was after surgery that my Celiac symptoms really kicked in. Shortly after the surgery, instead of feeling better, like I had expected to, I began to get severe D, tingling and numbness in my face, arms...
  22. Jen--thanks for letting us know
  23. Jen--the Johnny Cash autobiography--wow! I'm a real fan.. My husband and I always watched SATC--you guys are some good gift-givers!

    ARCHIVED Caffiene?

Monica--I'm going through the exact same thing as you are right now--except I get D instead of C. The rest, I could have written myself. I guess I have no other choice but to just stick with it and hopefully things will get consistantly better again. I don't know of anything I'm doing wrong. I'm so careful when it comes to CC matters here at home, and...
