Janewholovesrain, I agree it can be quite confusing sometimes. They set the level so low that every "healthy person" it seems needs statin's these days. It is worse if you are prediabetic or diabetic. My cholesterol did not go too normal levels for a healthy person until I took Vitamin K though I never here anybody talk about how it can...

Victoria1234, I think it is just "robo" generated leads. While/if you are reading this article then you might also read these articles with similar content. In one of the links they mention. "Celiac disease is diagnosed with both a blood test and biopsy. In one Canadian study, the average delay between symptoms starting and diagnosis was...

Icelandgirl, I think I mentioned this before but Vitamin K really helped my cholesterol. I also had a friend who really swore by high dose Vitamin E but it didn't seem to help me. Raw Almonds and Sesame seeds are a good source of Vitamin E. Here is the Japanese research on Vitamin K. People who took K2 had excellent results at 6 months...

There's that inflammation issue again!
Posterboy replied to Gemini's topic in Publications & Publicity
Gluten_free_01, I have been out of pocket for a few days due to all my time being taken up doing some harvesting. But I wanted to respond to your question. For B-complex's it is not so much the amount b-50, b-100 etc as much as the frequency think with each meal or twice a day if that is not convenient. see this link https://www.ncbi... -
cristiana and whitepaw, here is a good livestrong article link on marshmallow tea. http://www.livestrong.com/article/117015-marshmallow-root-tea-benefits/ if you scroll down the link they also have similar tea's like comfrey that they talk about. Look up Mucilage's and you will see several digestive aides. You are probably most familiar...

whitepaw, I think cristiana commented on this thread. It is about IDA that talks about some of the same issues. If you get a chance you might read through it. some of the same issues are mentioned. I would point out this link in the topic as a good article about stomach acid and how many people get locked into taking it for much...

There's that inflammation issue again!

Feenyja, Have you tried B-12 for the tingling in the extremities. I used to have the same problem. see this link "Multiple sclerosis and vitamin B12 metabolism." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1430153 but I found when I addressed my Vitamin(s) deficiencies my condition (nerve inflammation) got better and why I love Vitamin(s... -
ironictruth, I want to follow up on Knitty Kitty's reasoning. I read over it the first time I read your post. When I saw her post on PPI's then it struck me. I think it is the Zantac. see this link https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15455980 quoting "Our observations support the probability that the profound hypochlorhydria...

ironictruth, I see people have already mentioned the Vitamin C trick to help iron absorption. Read this thread about IDA I think you will find it very informative if you have not already read it. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/119240-diagnosed-with-ttg-iga-level-of-128-three-days-ago-trying-to-conceive-or-should-i-hold-off/?tab=comments...

cyclinglady, you are right to resist statins for your hubby. I went from fatty liver to pre-diabetes taking statins and have managed as you say "eating to my meter" my blood sugar with good results every since. Statins are especially bad/worse (or at least they admit for women) for women and they might be the same for men if they studied "this... -
Blackshoesblacksocks, Have your doctor check your Vitamin D levels if they have not already. I recently was diagnosed with low Vitamin D levels and had horrible dry eyes. Very gritty all the time. Since taking Vitamin D my dry eyes have improved dramatically. Here is the Vitamin D Council research on this topic. https://www...

Help! Still sick

Jherm21, A methane breathe test is usually an indication of SIBO. I am surprised Feeneyja has not commented on this thread. see this thread where SIBO is discussed in detail. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/118308-positive-dgp-not-celiac/?tab=comments#comment-976164 Here is the link about the importance of methane test in a SIBO... -
Coopcoop, Have you considered your meds? They are other things that can cause Villi damage. See these two links that talk about how we forget some medicine's as a cause of Villi atrophy. I recently had a bad reaction to Losartan a BP medicine..... Follow the links in both these threads and I think you will find you might need to examine...

teachndiva, I don't personally have DH but wanted to point to a couple great threads about the topic. And this thread I think it might help you. I hope this is helpful. posterboy,

Plumbago et al, Thanks for letting me know about the "artan" drugs being ARBs. I think Cyclinglady was right the Losartan research is not free and thus not public. I saw the link with no abstract but wanted to read it to confirm as you noted in your ETA that it was another "Artan" drug Losartan causing the problem. I believe it is. I...

kareng, the thought occurred to me but she noted it might be two weeks before she might could answer back and I thought the forum might have an answer where the research was quicker. I will do that if someone doesn't already know where it is. I didn't put 2+2 together about olmesartan and losartan being the same class of medicine I guess ....

Jherm21, I just posted a similar question in another forum topic that might answer some of your questions. I realized now this might be the better thread for the topic but since I was seeking the research on the BP medicine Losartan I posted it there instead. In short NSAIDs as well as some other medicines have been associated with GI issues...

Forum Members, This is a follow up question to a link posted in this thread I have read the Patient Celiac site before but she noted the possible use of Losartan (Potassium) contributing to Villi Blunting? This concerns me because I am now taking Losartan for blood pressure. Can any one describe their experience with Losartan and/or provide...

Gemini, One of the links in the article was about a potential "vaccine" for celiac's. https://www.celiac.com/articles/24779/1/This-Vaccine-Could-Be-a-Game-Changer-for-People-with-Celiac-Disease/Page1.html I think it is toward the bottom of the article. Their summary/conclusion state's it well. " The main takeaway from these developments...

Victoria1234, Think of Kefir as a better tasting version of Butter Milk that also has B. Lactis in it. And since I don't really like the taste of buttermilk I usually drink kefir instead. I only meant if it helped me with recovering from D. from Antibiotics it might help if your was from the potentially (hot/contaminated) fruit salad/bowl of fruit...

Victoria1234, I was doing some other research on the "evidence of gut bacteria and links to celiac disease" triggered by the admin's post on the article "is this is the beginning of the end for celiac disease" (let' hope so right?) even if it is isn't it is fascinating research and came across other research on how Bifdobacterium Lactis might help the...

Gemini, The FMT is not as gross as it sounds. It could be in a two stage release pill much like some probiotic's or as a suppository. I dug through some of the research linked in the article. Very interesting research. Here are two that stuck out to me. https://www.celiac.com/articles/21685/1/More-Evidence-Links-Gut-Bacteria-to-Celiac...

Gluten_free_01, Their has been limited research as to their connection. Here is an research article that might help answer some of your questions. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1785098/ It reviews the "Hematologic manifestations of celiac disease". here is the summary of their research on the topic. Quoting the...

Icelandgirl, They (doctor's) will definitely bang you over the head with their big (pharma) stick when they cann. this movie can out before me but the movie title is appropriate. "dr. strangelove or how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb "cholesterol". since I am a prediabetic (borderline) I tried their "pharma" solution of...

kareng, I probably jumped a step. I might should of suggested she ask her doctor to check for H. Plyori infection. but the connection between low stomach acid (long term use of PPI's) and low iron levels have been established. here is link establishing many minerals and vitamin b-12 low levels with use of medicine reducing stomach acid...
