HeatherFeather44, You are definitely right to consider magnesium. Carolyn dean wrote a book called the "Magnesium Miracle" that talked about all the ways being low in Magnesium effects us. We are said to "waste away" when we are low in Magnesium. Find a Magnesium Citrate (can cause flushing) or a Magnesium Glycinate (preferred but more...

Emily W, Knitty Kitty hit the nail on the head. I think. See this Livestrong article that covers it well. https://www.livestrong.com/article/383697-how-does-vitamin-b-complex-help-your-body/ B-Vitamins support your metabolism and because a celiac is a malabsorption syndrome/disease at it's heart you often have trouble with getting enough...

nancy beal, knitty kitty has given you some good links. But I have found Lysine helped me. Emuaid is recommended for external use only. here is my response from another thread. This topic comes up often. It is a long thread (and an old one) so I am quoting the relevant information from now on copied form another thread. "see...

samundd01, see this thread in spells out how I took Lysine to help my canker sores. I hope this is helpful. You might also have low stomach acid. We get low in our amino acids when our stomach acid is not strong enough to digest proteins. http://healthbeatnews.com/whats-burning-you/ from the article "Jonathan Wright, M.D.,...

jrdotzler, see this thread be sure to read the verywell article on this topic but I will link it below for easy reference. quoting First Comes Baby, Then Comes Symptoms "Most women are diagnosed with celiac disease after at least one pregnancy — in fact, a comprehensive Italian study published in 2010 on the reproductive effects o...

RainaS, You can start a new thread about this if you really think it is the Niacin but have you considered whether it could be Folic Acid instead. Some people do experience because of MTHFR gene defect issues with Folic Acid and going gluten free helps them because gluten free foods are not enriched with Folic Acid. here is a recent article...

MK16, I am not best on the test's but I will try and explain. see this new article about why both an tTG and IGa test is performed. https://www.celiac.com/articles/25017/1/Is-a-One-Two-Punch-of-Anti-tTG-Tests-a-Reliable-Way-to-Diagnose-Celiac-Disease/Page1.html but this doesn't work well in those who have an IGa Insuffiency/Deficeincy...

As always I hope you find it helpful to learn how/what someone else did to help their own selves in this journey/road ...

mbrookes, Public Citizen just called for the FDA to ban Benicar. Here is the recent article on Celiac.com about the topic. https://www.celiac.com/articles/25007/1/Should-Benicar-Be-Banned/Page1.html I also had a reaction to Losartan that caused me a Milk/Lactose allergy. see this thread where I noted the same things taking Losartan...

Constipation
Posterboy replied to selectivefocus's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Ennis_Tx says it best. Dose to tolerance. (best not taken on an empty stomach) I have to level off my teaspoon when I take Natural Calm Magnesium so I switched to either a Liquidgel (be careful they can have soy in them) Citrate if that is a problem for you or a Magnesium Citrate tablet which doesn't have soy in it. But tablets can be hard to swallow... -
Sahil, Let first say this is not medical advice. But I have done a lot of nutrition research and often research other topics as they come up. But you should look into taking a good B-Complex preferably 3/day (each meal) or 2/day if that is not convenient. Most B-Vitamins/complexes can be taken on a cycle of 6 to 12 months with only positive...

BoliviaB, DH rash can occur in Celiac's who reindtroduce wheat/gluten after a break from gluten. However I want to go/see that the parasite route has also been exhausted. The fever's (for most Celiac's anyway) are not typically but low grade inflammation is. I had annual bronchitis issues and ear aches that went away after stopping gluten...

They have all given you good advice. Like Ennis_Tx said this is not medical advice. Just some observations. Ennis_Tx mentioned already a good B-complex. But people who have Perncious Anemia low B-12 have "Pens and Needles' feeling in their extremities. Mine was much more pronounced when sleeping. . . while sleeping my nerve ending...

Lex_, Again I am afraid Ennis_Tx is right here. Ennis_tx eats right and is eating all the right things and still has to take/supplement with Magnesium. The magnesium is a clue? We need magnesium to make energy. I like to say as chlorophyll is to photosynthesis for the plant so is Magnesium for/to the Animal(s). Meaning we will...

Slight acid stomach early on what to take/do?
Posterboy replied to LexieA's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
LexieA, This thread might help you. You say you never have "heartburn/GERD". You can have something called Silent Reflux. It could also be NERD. some of these links are in this thread but I will post some releavent information in this reply as well. here is a good overview of the difference in this fox news article. http... -
Slight acid stomach early on what to take/do?
Posterboy replied to LexieA's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
LexieA, I agree with Plumbago. The symptom's of low stomach acid and high stomach acid are similar so it is easy to confuse the symptom's of one as the other. Dr. Myatt explains this well in her online article about stomach acid. http://healthbeatnews.com/whats-burning-you/ quoting "But My Symptoms Feel Like Too Much Acid... -
Lex_ I agree with Ennis_Tx. You need to take some Magnesium. It works best as a Magnesium Citrate or Magnesium Glycinate. Magnesium Citrate are easiest to find. Take it 2/day for the first couple weeks to see how much more energy you have. Then you can take it with each meal or 2/day and one hour before bedtime if it is not convenient...

Sick with what I think is the flu
Posterboy replied to RainWilliams's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Rainwilliams, I think vitoria1234 is right. I am in the same boat with you right now. I recently had some plumbing issues that exposed me to a lot dust and that causes me to cough usually from it (dust of any kind) (and forget to use a respirator (paper mask) though it was on my list? So I run and get mucinex (great as an expectorant)... -

Posterboy replied to johnojohno's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease

Posterboy replied to ladyfood's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
ladyfood, you might want to read this thread. cristina had some of the questions you had with her Ttg levels still being elevated. you might also relook at your some of your medicines. I found I was having issues with my BP medicine. the/these things (medicine in my case) we consider "safe" sometimes turn out to bother us more than we... -

Ann Lewis, I don't know if you would call it a natural remedy or not but swilling with "salt water" can help your sores heal quicker. I sware by the Amino Acid Lysine. It usually got rid of my mouth sores in a two or three days. . up to a week if needed. 1000mg Lsyine with each meal for two or three days can help get rid of them. It...

Shocked - elevated TTG
Posterboy replied to cristiana's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
cristina, **** this is not medical advice let me say on the front end but it make sense to me. . . but it might not to you. you have another protein in your diet you are reacting too! and haven't identified it yet. jmg seems to be reacting to casein right now. most/many gluten free things use corn as a common flour replacement. though... -
trents and Tony G, see the canadian site that lists many updated resources. it is rare but does happen (oats sensitivity) in a small number celiac's. I didnt' see what percent that was though. https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/food-nutrition/public-involvement-partnerships/consultation-celiac-disease-gluten-free-claims-uncontaminated...

Question for those avoiding dairy (casein)?
Posterboy replied to Jmg's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
jmg, I am sorry I tried. That is true for cheese -- it can not be made casein free according to livestrong but you can take lactaid for the lactose portion of milk. Or drink lactaid brand milk or ice cream. at least then you will know if it is the lactose or the casein that is the problem. And they do make lactose free cheeses . . . . so that...- 41 replies
