ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Fiddle-Faddle replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Welcome, Angst! (Hopefully soon to be angst-less and feeling good!)! Unfortunately, I have no answers for you--like you, I found my way here for the research, and keep coming back because of all the great people here . Rachel, I always wondered what role mercury played with the autism/vaccine/celiac triangle when the MMR vaccine never contained... -

Hi, Rachel, As usual, your scientificness leaves me in awe; I'll never be able to keep up! I vaguely remember a thread here about fluoride--was that your research also? You already looked into that, right? Or am I getting confused (brain fog?)? I also found this: Open Original Shared Link and wondered if it might not be another source of poisoning... -
ARCHIVED Do People Who Have True Celiac - Not Gluten Intolerance
Fiddle-Faddle replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
IBS is not a disease, it is a syndrome--a collection of symptoms. Those symptoms are pretty much identical to those of--you guessed it--celiac. -

ARCHIVED Starting Daycare..please Help
Fiddle-Faddle replied to mom-to-claire's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I can't help much with the food issues except to say that my kids loved plain broiled salmon, which I flaked up and sent in a bowl with rice. They also liked avocado. Seems to me that Tinkyada rice pasta would be good.Careful with rice milk--Rice Dream is not gluten-free. If it relieves your anxiety any, 2 of my kids refused bottles and cups--they just... -

I still say that homemade chicken soup and hot lemonade work better and are way better for you (and they are gluten-free, too!)!!! (Still, it WAS nice of you to post that--hope you don't need it!) -
ARCHIVED Breastfeeding And When To Introduce Gluten
Fiddle-Faddle replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Many babies do much better on formula than breastmilk simply because their mothers aren't properly instructed in just how often you have to nurse a newborn. Most doctors are still telling new moms that they should nurse every 2-3 hours, when in reality, if it's your first baby, you might have to nurse as often as every half hour during the first week! ... -

I had a lot of problems last winter where even though I was taking the same dosage of synthroid (from the same batch, even), I kept having these drastic swings between feeling hyperthyroid and hypo. One week I would have all the symptoms, of hypo, the next, hyper. And then I had a couple of months of hyper, but my bloodwork checked out as normal. My endo... -

You might try double-bagging your bread bag, or using a well-labeled, well-sealed plastic container. -
Shingles always follows whatever SINGLE nerve in which the chicken pox virus has settled and gone dormant. It's not always the trunk. I did have postherpetic neuralgia--it went away on its own in about a year. Also, unlike shingles, DH tends to be symmetric--you will see exactly the same number and location of clusters on each side of the body, or...

ARCHIVED Fresh Produce
Fiddle-Faddle replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wash grapes, etc. in a huge bowl of water with 1 drop of dish detergent. Then I rinse them really, REALLY well/ If you look at the ingredients of the produce wash, all it says is, "surfactant." That's just detergent. -

What are the symptoms of radiation poisoning? Obviously, that wouldn't explain the Lyme, but if the Lyme prevented you from eliminating the thyroid potion, maybe now, the radioactive stuff still in your body is doing weird unpleasant things. Giant, glow-in-the-dark spirochetes? -

ARCHIVED Celiac Disease: Not Just A Gi Problem
Fiddle-Faddle replied to Sophiekins's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I totally understand! I was hit-and-run by a car in January and my shoulder was dislocated and really mangled (it didn't help that I sat in a rather empty ER for 3 hours before it was reset, either). The first ortho who saw me didn't want to bother with an MRI. Turned out, I had torn tendons and cartilage, and one of the tendons was torn off the bone.... -

I thought I had read a few years ago that electric blankets were associated with a higher risk of cancer? Something about the electromagnetic field? When I searched a couple of minutes ago, everything I saw talked about "weak links" and "inconclusive studies," but this raises a red flag for me. In our neighborhood, the power company is trying to install... -

My physical therapist was just telling me how he has a lot of ex-dancer patients: apparently, they are much looser in the joints than most, but after they retire from dancing, they don't maintain the musculature to support the laxity, and they have terrible back problems. Hope that's not you! He did say that they are among the easiest of all his patients... -

ARCHIVED New Here- My Baby May Have Celiac Disease :(
Fiddle-Faddle replied to ACottrell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My oldest son was also a several-times-a-night-waker. He NEEDED a warm body, preferably mine or his daddy's, but the cat or the neighbor's dog worked just fine, too. I finally came to the realization that they need what they need, in spite of doctors who insist that every child needs to learn to put themselves to sleepand stay asleep. When they are ready...
