  2. I just found it yesterday. I called the company to verify, other natural flavors. The ingredients are gluten free, cross contamination is a possibility. It is a bit sweet, so my kids like it. No one in my family has had any gluten symptoms after eating it. Laura
  3. I'm am so glad to have read your post update! I'm still going to be thinking about you and wishing you the best. Laura
  4. Yes, my daughter was vomiting about three times a day before diagnoses. She has not vomited or had "D" since she started on the gluten free diet. Laura
  5. You didn't mention the age of your son.. Celiac and diabetes have a connection, and he should be tested for Celiac. Celiac can cause vomiting, "D", constipation, or no symptoms at all. Vomiting is more common among children with Celiac. Call the doctor and get a refferal to G.I. specialist and have the Celiac screening blood test drawn today! If you...

ARCHIVED Good News About Bad News

I've never met a person who ever admitted to tasting crow. Laura Did it make you run for an Altoid!!?
  7. I did have some discomfort and pelvic pains at the time in the pregnancies. There is a lot going on in there right now. Your body is building the placenta. It can be compared to the physical effort of mountain climbing. Drink water, rest, and relax. If you think you need any medical attention - call the doctor and seek advice. Congratulations and my...
  8. Celiac Specialties is at 23 Mile Road and Jefferson, in Chesterfield Township. They are now selling their products at several gluten free stores. There is a gluten free store in Livonia, and I can't remember the name. (Sorry to the store owners, I've met you and you are wonderful people, but I just can't remember the name of your store.) Bel Cibo is in...
  9. OK Who watches that show, How Clean Is Your house? on Lifetime? The 2 British ladies on their hands and knees sniffing pure nastiness, and all the cleaning tips -I'm morbidly fascinated. How sick and twisted is that? Laura
  10. The cosmetic companies know that the AVERAGE woman ingests ONE TUBE of lipstick a year. (Aveda line of advertising their product line about 20 years ago.) Laura
  11. I used to get flushed a lot in the pre-gluten free days. My sister-in-law had fifth disease about 2 years ago and said she was absolutely miserable with the pain in her hands. Laura
  12. Where in Michigan are you planning on visiting? Laura I don't believe it!!? We had a little ice storm and school was cancelled. I spoke to different people on the phone that said the roads were fine. So does someone want to explain to me why 4 boys are ice skating up and down the street?
  13. I bought stock in Stratogene. They recently got FDA approval of their test for Celiac. I don't know of any catchy name for the test yet. There was also another company working on a Celiac test and there is the York rapid stick test. Laura
  14. Getting diagnosed with Celiac or gluten sensitivity means CHECK THE SOURCE OF EVERYTHING THAT GOES IN OR NEAR YOUR MOUTH. If I can't read the label to verify it is safe I don't use it. Laura
  15. When my daughter went in for her blood test, she was a little over a year old. She sat perfectly still, and it was not a good blood draw. I think she got poked at least five times. She was anemic and dehydrated from Celiac. The pain level an undiagnosed Celiac has to endure on a daily basis can not be entirely explained, and certainly not by a toddler...
  16. Make the house gluten free. Then hide all those cookbooks, and replace them with gluten free ones. Give yourself some time to figure out the gluten free diet, then work on converting your favorite recipes when you are in a gluten free comfort zone. If your mom's circumstances have left her depressed, she can't even begin to imagine what is going on in...
  17. I add pickle relish to Hellman's mayo, and add sugar. That is basically tarter sauce.
  18. Claire, The original article you posted is of special interest for me. I was trying to find the time to find an article to give to an aquaintence for her daughter. It has been printed out, and I told her about it, and when I get my act together it will be delivered to her. Thank you for posting this and the other interesting articles. Laura

    ARCHIVED Hipaa And Insurance Coverage

That is good to know what the law states. A friend of mine had to get legal representation for her mother to get treatment for her stage one cancer. By the time the court intervened her mom has stage 3 cancer and has finally started treatment. Some people on this forum have mentioned having troubles with coverage because of Celiac. Laura
  20. I've had sweet smelling breath since I was a kid. Diabetes is always a concern. There is a link with diabetes and Celiac. A diabetic will have the opposite sour breath too, when the insulin level goes too high. If the breath ever starts to smell like acetone (like nail salon products) get to the emergency room!!! That is a symptom of (for the like of...
  21. It sounds like you might want to do some more research on leaky gut too. Well I am one of the people that should not exist because I've had chicken pox twice. Not shingles, chicken pox. The first time I had chicken pox I was 5 months old, and had a mild case but still have 2 scars. The second time I was 23. There are people in the world who have recurrent...
  22. We bought it so low, it would have to tank to the low in it's 3rd year price. It's a long term outlook for any stock though. KEEP LISTENING!! Laura
  23. What great news! The gluten mention is great and the fact you are listening to Sirius is even better for me!! (Have some stock.) Laura
  24. Well, Popeye had spinach. Super dad has ... Altoids! Or the thought of future Altoids. Laura
  25. What does your gut tell you? Run the tests over, have the endo. with biopsy, or try the diet. Sounds like you have the same kind of luck I do. Laura
