We use Eden Organic. It doesn't have citric acid.

That's probably the one I buy! :D

Sherry, I am going to be taking very large doeses of Vit D also. My Dr has come across studies finding a connection between HAE and Vit D levels.

Oh - this is good! Hopefully that will provide you some answers and treatment! :)

Paula do you feel better using the detox foot pads? I feel like those ones are just better at getting out the nasty toxins. I was thinking about using the foot pads as well. The more toxins well can pull out the better.

Has anyone done a detox foot spa treatment? They seem pretty pricey but might be worth a try?

I have done the spa treatments. My ND does not believe in them. Seems they have done testing on the water to see what actually can come out and the ingredients are the same with and without the feet.

I did them for a while, but not sure if it helped or not.

:o :o :o

Must go look up our supplements. I know I've seen that word lots of times.....just don't know how much it's in at this time.....

It is very hard to find supps without mag stearate. Its the ingredient used to make the capsule. You can avoid by dumping the capsule out. We had a big discussion about this on yeast connection one time. I'll see if I can dig up some of that information.

Ok, I have to start taking electrolytes in the next couple weeks. I'm aware of pedialyte......does anyone know of good electrolytes without all the garbage added?

I haven't looked at the ingredients of pedialyte yet.

There is a water that has electrolytes that taste like water. I give it to the kids when they are sick. They won't touch pedilyte. Its so yuck! :P

I have a recipe for a homemade concoction, too.

Green12 Enthusiast

Andrea, I take electrolytes that taste just like water and it doesn't have a lot of that other crap that pedialyte has in it. I'll look at the brand, I don't know off the top of my head.

Hi Donna, welcome back!

Green12 Enthusiast

Andrea, on the bottle it says Peltier Electrolyte Concentrate, Executive Formula, Crayhon Research

Formulated and distributed by Crayhon Research Inc

Thanks Julie. :)

Looks like you have to be a doctor to get that one. I'll have to see what Dr E says about the selectrolytes. I'm thinking she may be able to order the Peltier if I would need her to.

Some of my supplements have magnesium sulfate in them as well. I guess you cant avoid all toxins. I will probably still take them until I can get one's without this stuff in them.

Lisa....magnesium sulate isnt considered to be toxic. Sulfate is essential for our health.

I have "SmartWater" by Glaceau. It is electrolyte enhanced water. Maybe you could try that? I buy it at just about any grocery store here in Massachusetts.

I am finally up here in Lake Tahoe. I've been in bed the whole time...so I hope I feel semi human soon, so I can do something.

I'm having really horrible cramps so I'm going to call the Dr today and see what she says. Also, the bleeding is heavier than it's supposed to be. <_< I sure hope that this is normal for after a D&C.

dlp252 Apprentice

My mother had a couple of D&Cs but I can't remember how that went. I know she had lots of cramping and I do think she bled, but not sure how much.

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Everyone,

I am catching up! I am on page 2025 right now. Tomorrow I have another appointment with Dr. D.

I will post an update and let you know what happens tomorrow. Until then, I am reading along.

Sincerely,

Jin

I just wanted to say between all the salmonella going around and the way i react to food. That i am going to give up eating everything lol I know that isnt healthy. But im getting to the point im afraid to eat or drink anything.

I got ahold of the Dr and she said that she wants to give it one more day, then if the bleeding doesn't slow down considerably, then we will have to add more hormones.

She said I had so much tissue she couldn't get it all out. She is going to try to get ahold of pathology to see if there's any cancer. I'm SO nervous! Ahhh! ;)

And, the severity of the cramping is really extreme. That isn't normal. We'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Kasssandra,

Im sorry your in so much pain while in lake tahoe. Just dont stress about it, the stress will make it 10 times worse for the cramps. I know easier said then done. Just try to relax and enjoy your time there. Update us tommorow if it gets better, which im sure it will.

Dang....even my probiotics have magnesium strearate....and they're a really good brand!!

Hey all-

I have had good luck with Pure Encapsulations. They are excipient and filler free and come in a vegetable capsule. If the capsule is a problem, you could empty the contents. They have a wide variety of supplements and they seem to be on par with the latest research. Each bottle has this written:

"This encaptulated product contains no hidden coatings, excipients, binders, fillers, shellacs, artificial colors or fragrance. Contains no dairy, wheat, yeast, gluten, corn, sugar, starch, soy, preservatives or hydrogenated oils."

Thanks Nancy,

I'll look into that. :)

I always discard my capsules so that part I'm definately used to. ;)

Hopefully I can find some probiotics. :)

Kassandra,

Like Paula said....try not to stress too much. I hope you're able to enjoy your time in Tahoe. Hopefully the bleeding will resolve soon.

hey rachel, i remember you saying you had a bunch of links, and thinking of those messages you sent me, do you have any good ones on parasites/yeast/gut infections and neuro/mental symptoms? any interesting reads? i'm not good at finding things  and it'd be nice to read some of those things we were talking about, i figured i'd say it here so other people could be helped out too

but anyways, about that doctor i was talking about, i talked to him and he seems to know about a lot...he doesn't just have the igenex labs, he has the quest ones and some other one that has tech in the name that i forgot....but i think that quest one is a very good lab? he said he can order any test i wanted, so i think i'll get that OAT test and the other test...he had one of those bloodwork sheets, and something on it was yeast antibodies so i'm sure he knows about those type of things

from what i hear, that OAT test sounds like it says a LOT about the body, huh? seems like in my case, it's bound to shed some light, but i'm wondering about those lyme tests too...i know about igenex, but i've heard a lot about the other two but really don't have a clue...but i figure since he's so open minded and wants to order any test, it'd be good to get everything i need

he woman at the front desk had chronic lyme and she looks beyond healthy now and they were both very soft spoken and helpful and all i did was stop by...i haven't even have an appointment with him yet, and he was going to order the igenex test for me to have it done on the spot just from me talking to him (didn't because of some insurance thing, but i'll ask my question with that later on to see if anybody knows), but as far as telling them about the really bad neuro/mental and other strange type symptoms, they seemed to really understand so i think i just need to have the right things done and it's bound to get me somewhere i hope

does anyone know of a real good natural product they use to make there teeth white?

Nanjkay Apprentice
Hopefully I can find some probiotics. :)

I don't know if I mentioned it before but there is a product called Progurt from Australia. I guess it is similar to VSL #3 in that it is very strong and comes in a sachet. I make my own yogurt from the sachet and each serving is supposed to contain something like one trillion (bacteria/units?). Each sachet makes about 7 servings of yogurt. The big difference with Progurt is that it is not Bovine probiotic, it is human bacteria, don't ask me how they extract that, but I am all for it. Also, I am casein free, and so I make the yogurt with goat's milk, this stuff is so strong, I think anything I am allergic to is broken down by the bacteria..I have no reaction to the goat's milk yogurt whatsoever. Since taking it I do notice a difference with food intolerance...subtle but I do notice I am a bit less reactive.

Also Researched Nutritionals makes a soil based probiotic and I have had good luck with the MegaFlora probiotic...I don't have a bottle in front of me but I think it is pretty straightforward.

I've seen an ad for coconut water and was going to look into but never did. That sounds good too. :)

Paula,

Hang in there. :)

Kassandra,

Hoping your cramping calms down real soon. Try not to worry and enjoy your time at Tahoe.

Kassandra, sending you hugs and best wishes for the bleeding and pain to stop very soon, and good news from the pathology.

Hey....I'll get back to you on this because it WAY past my bedtime.

I started posting in an enzyme thread...and woah....BIG mistake.

Can someone remind me not to venture out of Rachelville too often....I just end up getting myself into trouble out there.

Anyways...Rpm....I'm pretty good at finding things. Google is my best friend. :) I'm pretty sure I could find some things for you to read. ;)

Unfortunately, I'm not so good at going to bed on time. :P

About Quest....dont use them for Lyme testing!!

That lab sucks for Lyme.....they miss alot of positive cases of Lyme. I think they are one of the worst.

If you're gonna have the tests done...get it done right....use IgeneX. Everyone here will tell you the same thing.

Its good that the Dr. will let you order any test......but does he have any experience with interpreting the results?? Hopefully he's familiar with OAT (as well as the other tests)....because if something shows up...he needs to have a good understanding of how to proceed with treatment.

I'm glad he's open minded. :)

I was tested back in 2017 and my TTG-IGA was mildly elevated (an 11 with reference range <4) but my EMA was negative and biopsy was negative. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago where I was like y'know what, I still have so many symptoms and I'm always so sick, I should repeat this, thinking it was not going to be positive.  I also found out through 23 and me that I do have the HLA-DQ2.5 gene so I thought it would be good to repeat given my ongoing symptoms. Well my blood work came back with a ttg-iga level of 152.6 with a reference range of <15 and my EMA was positive and EMA titer was 1:10 with reference range of <1:5. I guess I'm nervous that I'm going to do the biopsy and it's going to be negative again, especially since I also had an endoscopy in 2020, not to look for celiac but just as a regular 5 year thing I do because of all my GI issues, and they didn't see anything then either. I have no idea how long the EMA has been positive but I'm wondering if it's very recent, if the biopsy will show damage and if so, if they'll say well the biopsy is the gold standard so it's not celiac? I of course am doing all the things to convince myself that it isn't real. Do a lot of people go through this? I think because back in 2017 my ttg-iga was elevated but not a huge amount and my EMA was negative and my biopsy was negative, I keep thinking this time it's going to be different. But this time my ttg-iga is 152.6 with reference range <15, and my EMA was positive. BUT, my titer is only 1:10 and I keep reading how most people here had a ttg-iga in the hundreds or thousands, and the EMA titer was much higher. So now I am convinced that it was a false positive and when they do the biopsy it'll be negative.

Welcome to the forum, @linnylou73! Are you claiming this based on a reaction or based upon actual testing?

Sams club membermark columbian coffee is either cross contaminated or the pods contain gluten

This varies a lot from person to person. I include foods that are not certified gluten-free but are labelled "gluten-free", while super sensitive people only use certified gluten-free. Both types of products have been found to contain gluten, so there are no guarantees either way: It you are in the super sensitive group, eating a whole foods based diet where you prepare everything is the safest bet, but it's also difficult. Eating out is the the most risky, even if a restaurant has a gluten-free menu. I also include items that are naturally gluten-free, for example refried beans, tuna, pasta sauces, salsas, etc., which have a low overall risk of contamination.
