I had a very timely minor freakout last night. HR Pufnstuf was on "My Name is Earl"!!! (YES! The Real Deal!)

Anyone else watch Earl?

I believe that it is on at the same time as Grey's Anatomy . . . so I believe the majority of the female contingent will say no. I do watch it when Grey's in reruns, though . . .

HR Pufnstuf (is that really how you spell it? that doesn't look right.) was also sketched into South Park last night or the night before. I normally blow right by that but HR caught my eye.

I need some help from either Susie or Richard or possibly an optician . . . Is that suppose to be sushi on MM's belly? And what is CarrotTop eating/drinking?

And Richard, I knew it was you!!! Either that or once again . . . Emily's dad.

You got that right.

Although the Grey's of today is not the same Grey's I used to know and love, sigh......

this is absolutely correct. Except here, Gray's is on at the same time as The Office....VERY sad. But Gray's is really bugging me.......George and Izzy - - AS IF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um.......the elusive Richard ONCE put his photo up. 'Tis not he, in the center square......I remember. ;)

TOM - should you be living in a BUBBLE for pete's sake? Like George Costana's Bubble Boy friend?

go to www.wegmans.com and send them an email.

It's in the NY,PA and NJ area. Not a big chain at all. Family run place. Neat though. Patti is right when she says celiac heaven.

I really like Earl--we've been TiVo'ing it along with 30 Rock since Grey's is on opposite.

I'm leaning towards doing it the other way around cuz I agree that Grey's isn't as good as last year. I actually said that to Mark last night.

Mad Men, on the other hand--I think that's my new favorite show :) Susie, if you ever allow yourself expanded cable--you'd LOVE it! The season finale was on last night--it dosen't come back till June '08

Agreed! And the George & Izzy story is the ONLY story they really got going . . .

OK - all you slackers who have not added your pleas to the Green Guy Emoticon thread need to get your A$$E$ over there and jump on the bandwagon . . . otherwise, when Scott makes it available, YOU don't get to use it!!!

I'm off to run errands!

Nathan Fillion, he's dreamy

Nathan Fillion is on Desperate Housewives??? I have to admit, I've never watched it-- but I looove Nathan Fillion. I'm one of those culty Firefly/Serenity fans!

Earl is on an hour earlier than Grey's.

It's The Office that loses its female fanbase. ;)

You're right..it's Ugly Betty that's on opposite Earl--what was I thinking...anyway, I watch Betty and record Earl. Tried to watch Office--I don't get it

He sure is! He's a new addition to the cast this year, a mysterious (possibly on the verge of being creepy) gynecologist.

I used to watch him on OLTL and then on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Ok I will go check it out!

Nathan Fillion used to play Joey on One Life To Live, too. :)

It's all downhill once you've "defibbed the doe".

(The "jumped the shark" for a New Millenium)

BUBBLE BOY?!! *chortle* Oh it's just a little temporal cluster of badness. In 4+ months now, I've had ~12 non-GREAT days. :P

Do I sense a partial re-mojofication in Dingoland?

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon

I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".
    • trents
If you were off gluten for two months that would have been long enough to invalidate the celiac blood antibody testing. Many people make the same mistake. They experiment with the gluten free diet before seeking formal testing. Once you remove gluten from the diet the antibodies stop being produced and those that are already in circulation begin to be removed and often drop below detectable levels. To pursue valid testing for celiac disease you would need to resume gluten consumption equivalent to the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread daily for at least two weeks, preferably longer. These are the most recent guidelines for the "gluten challenge". Without formal testing there is no way to distinguish between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity since their symptoms overlap. However, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the small bowel lining, not true of gluten sensitivity. There is no test available for gluten sensitivity so celiac disease must first be ruled out. By the way, elevated liver enzymes was what led to my celiac diagnosis almost 25 years ago.
    • trents
Then it does not seem to me that a gluten-related disorder is at the heart of your problems, unless that is, you have refractory celiac disease. But you did not answer my question about how long you had been eating gluten free before you had the blood antibody test for celiac disease done.
