Saw it referenced elsewhere, was hard to track down the full SNL skit and there's a bit of fluff at the very beginning and end that I don't think is suppose to be there . . . plus mine got really loud at the end so watch out . . . this answers the question that I had when Bev posted (emailed?) that link a while back . . . why was that man dressed in a leotard??? . . . apparently, it was a parody of this parody.

forgot to chime in on the cane tip........... :o bet it bleached out or.........think some of the old ones were that brick color

going to try to tackle some of the basement 'junk' to pitch this am. Rainy and misty here so might as well hang in the 'dank' basement.

In other news, all this talk of porrage and gruel....I'm making rice cooked in almond milk fer breakfast. Planning to top it wif a little maple syrup :P No egg, right?

The breakfast rice gruel stuff was really good! Next time, I won't make quite as much and won't add as much maple syrup, but it was decadent and I ate it all :lol:

Well now, I just hired my friends husband to build stuff. He asked if he could start cleaning up as well, and what to do if he had any good ideas for plantings or something.... :blink::o:D:P

So amazing to find someone who's actually willing to work.

Turned Wayne up a notch from the normal setting (knee-jerk, I'm sure) and now me water bottles are half frozen. :blink: Ya know, a freakin fridge shouldn't throw me this much! :huh::lol: Been keepin' house fer nigh on 35 years, and this has to beat all :P:rolleyes:B)

Gorgeous day here, though. Storms have blown out, it's crisp and cool wif blue sky. I may take a walk in a little while.

Just broke a nail scrubbing the tile grout on the bathroom floor <_< Allo puked last night and it sat for hours.....

Suz--hope your back pheels better after a rest :)

Em--sorry the ho-tub didn't yield anything noteworthy...... :lol: pieces of eight :lol: too phunny!

My new best friend Todd (who is an artist at heart) is going to build me a raised garden bed, a chicken coop, possibly the mini patio at the side of the house, and maybe working up to a "carport" made of trellises (not a fixed building, no permits).

      You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.

I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it.    There are many, probably most people in my area of my age and gender, who avoid gluten, but many just avoid it casually— eating the occasional plate of wheat pasta or a delicious-looking dessert, or baking cookies with wheat flour for gatherings.  That is not an option for me. I don’t eat other people’s cooking or go to restaurants that do not have strict cross- contamination procedures. It can be boring and lonely, and people do look at me as if I am being a bit dramatic but weeks of symptoms after a single small exposure has taught me to respect my experience.    Thank you very much for your response— sometimes I just need to hear that I am not crazy—

      I wish Dr’s would have these discussions with their patients. So frustrating but will continue to do research. Absolutely love this website. I will post any updates on my testing and results.  Thank you
