Open Original Shared Link

Saw it referenced elsewhere, was hard to track down the full SNL skit and there's a bit of fluff at the very beginning and end that I don't think is suppose to be there . . . plus mine got really loud at the end so watch out . . . this answers the question that I had when Bev posted (emailed?) that link a while back . . . why was that man dressed in a leotard??? . . . apparently, it was a parody of this parody.

 x10

(JT still looks good in a leotard ;) )

A soggy, but still tough Chuck Norris???

Which reminds me--coming into town last week on the highway, was a billboard for a lawyer. It said--"Walker, Texas Lawyer"--with a picture of the guy standing like Chuck, only with his suit jacket flung over his shoulder

Guess ya had to be there......

In other news, all this talk of porrage and gruel....I'm making rice cooked in almond milk fer breakfast. Planning to top it wif a little maple syrup :P No egg, right?

jerseyangel Proficient

The breakfast rice gruel stuff was really good! Next time, I won't make quite as much and won't add as much maple syrup, but it was decadent and I ate it all

Gah, this is SOOOOO disappointing.. . ......I was indeed hoping I could report that we found a meteorite, or a horse halter, or a bag of pieces of eight, lying at the bottom. .....but nowt was there.

Nothing else to report. I was so excited about a possible bizarre finding that all things happening today are now just pale and insignificant. . . . .........

:o :o Patti got a disease from Wayne's improperly cared for whosi-whatsit!!

My new best friend Todd (who is an artist at heart) is going to build me a raised garden bed, a chicken coop, possibly the mini patio at the side of the house, and maybe working up to a "carport" made of trellises (not a fixed building, no permits).

The term refers to an historic Spanish coin worth 8 reales. They were widely used around the time Spain was trying to take over the New World.

Thank you— yes, valid and essential— The issue either doctors is that every one I have tried to talk to about this has essentially rolled their eyes and dismissed me as a hypochondriac, which gets discouraging. I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it.    There are many, probably most people in my area of my age and gender, who avoid gluten, but many just avoid it casually— eating the occasional plate of wheat pasta or a delicious-looking dessert, or baking cookies with wheat flour for gatherings.  That is not an option for me. I don’t eat other people’s cooking or go to restaurants that do not have strict cross- contamination procedures. It can be boring and lonely, and people do look at me as if I am being a bit dramatic but weeks of symptoms after a single small exposure has taught me to respect my experience.    Thank you very much for your response— sometimes I just need to hear that I am not crazy—
    • lalan45
You’re not crazy—some people have severe neurological and physical reactions to gluten, not just digestive issues. While testing can be tricky without eating gluten, documenting symptoms and seeing a specialist familiar with atypical celiac or gluten-related disorders can help. Your reactions are real, and it’s valid to be cautious.

You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.

I wish Dr’s would have these discussions with their patients. So frustrating but will continue to do research. Absolutely love this website. I will post any updates on my testing and results.  Thank you
