Cannae WAIT to hear what you think of the movie!!!!!

I don't live in a mansion, we have about 3600sqft. We essentially have an apartment in our basement. I use the kitchen for my cake decorating, the living room is our theater room and the bedroom is my gym. Now we're out a theater and a gym  I wasn't going to give up my kids' rooms and they each have 2 beds in their rooms. Hubby thinks maybe if all the guests are in the basement together, it will give them incentive to find an apartment sooner... ;)

I'll bring M & his tent & camping stuff. He & Max can live in the yard. M can make great gluten-free camp food! Can they have an extension cord to run a tv and XBox?

Hi (she says sheepishly)- I AM SO BEHIND! I have an excuse (or 3 though) really I do!

World Cuppage mania (Nikki can be my witness)

Lost on the wilds of VT for a week- on Lake Champlain where I could turn right to Canada or left to NY-we were 50 miles away from Montreal). Tis the poifect place for all of us!

Tele-hubby had stroke scare (not so funny). He's OK but for those of you who haven't been around c.com for 5 years (yikes!) he had a stroke in July of 2005 and lost half his cerebellum. He has very few left over complications but he was taken to the ER (while I was 5 hours away) because he was having similar symptoms.

So, I beg the pardon of our Queen. Just wanted to poop in and say hi!

jerseyangel Proficient

My gosh Bevvie--I had no idea about K. That must have scared the daylights out of him--and you. So thankful it was just a scare. (((hug)))

kareng Grand Master

How scary, Bev! The nerve of the guy having the symptoms while you were so far away! Glad he's OK.

Bevel! Gawd, how frightening..... .:o ..... . .thank goodness Kurt is okay. Nothin' like a stroke scare, I tell ya. But wait: Kurt is missing half his cerebellum?? What in hell? This is incredible.. . . .he functions so well.... . .! Isn't the brain a wondrous thing? Different, unrelated sections taking over the duties of parts that have been destroyed...just amazing.

Hey! Why in hell couldn't my spleen or my gall bladder have jumped to the plate and taken over for my useless pancreas? <_<

PHinally get to go and see 'Eclipse' later (*excited squee!*)....sad Twi - hard coming through

Twi-hard? I thought we were Twa-hards... .. . . ....remember them funny li'l African blokes?

Thanks youse guys- it TWAS scary because no matter what- plane, bus or drive, it was going to take 5 hours to get home (it was 10 PM and everything near was closed).

Yes- half of his cerebellum is dead. So weird. The brain amazes me- he had the same type of stroke that NFL player Tedy Bruschi had. They have no idea why but we have our suspicions (happened right after a chiro neck adjustment).

Em- Yes, and for that matter why can't my now defunct gall bladder have been revived as your pancreas? What the French Toast?

Have you guys seen the latest Open Original Shared Link

Just about snorted my nose into my head laughing. This guy is HEE-larious and Open Original Shared Link

Kurt found one on a news site he frequents called Reddit. They must have people helping him but this guy is killing me- alas, I still will NOT wear Old Spice.

Great!! You'll have to bring the X-box, we only have the PS3. We also have a 72" TV that he may enjoy......

Hi Judy! 95 here in Kansa City with the humidity 105. Does it cool down at night? When we lived in Sacramento it would be 110 but 65 at night. The new AC was expensive but it's working well.:)

Gawd Leesiugh--it must be so hard to get yerself together in the morning wif yer arm strapped to you. How's the pain level?

No pain, really......unless I move  Seriously, though.....I've been doing pretty good pain-wise. I need to find me another one of these strappy things so's I have one to wear whilst I wash it. It's friggin hot here, too and this thang gets ......ripe

I go back to the orthopedic doc tomorrow and I'm askeert what he's gonna tell me. My arm bone moved out of place today. I think it's back in place now, but it was kinda freaky.....no......a lot freaky :(

Leeeesargh! Great news on the liability. A load off your mind, to be sure. And you`re getting cleaned up and dressed whilst trussed up like I saw you? Heavens. .. .. ... ..Don't overdo it,. girl!

I must say, that wide elastic support belt thang you are wearing is very slimming and flattering... . . . . Recovery Chic! ;)

:D

And ya know, it also does a good job of enhancing petite boobage ;)

Well, that gorgeous wee pup was sold to another family that got to 'im before I could. :( Ah, well.. .. . . .I know that I am ready to search, now.

Awwwww, that's too bad! Well......we can all look forward to more adorable prospective pupper pics :)

Bev....sorry to hear about Kurt. Jeez, what a scare! Hope he is OK.

....and Rayshell......I'd move in, but see no sense in moving from one crowded house into another <_< And me and spiders do NOT get along! :o

Whaddya mean, it moved out of place today???? that does not sound like a good thing to be happening! How's it going to heal??? I think you need to tell the doc that it is not immobilized :o

On a lighter note, glad to find I'm not the only arachnophobic 'round these parts. It's just those legs, and the way they move, and the thought of where they might move to!!

Segments of the protein Casein are the same as segments of the protein strands of gluten, the 33-mer segment.   The cow's body builds that Casein protein.  It doesn't come from wheat.   Casein can trigger the same reaction as being exposed to gluten in some people.   This is not a dairy allergy (IGE mediated response).  It is not lactose intolerance.
    • trents
Wheatwacked, what exactly did you intend when you stated that wheat is incorporated into the milk of cows fed wheat? Obviously, the gluten would be broken down by digestion and is too large a molecule anyway to cross the intestinal membrane and get into the bloodstream of the cow. What is it from the wheat that you are saying becomes incorporated into the milk protein?
    • Scott Adams
Wheat in cow feed would not equal gluten in the milk, @Wheatwacked, please back up extraordinary claims like this with some scientific backing, as I've never heard that cow's milk could contain gluten due to what the cow eats.

Hello, @NanceK, I'm glad you're willing to give Benfotiamine with B Complex another go!  I'm certain you'll feel much better.   Yes, supplementation is a good idea even if you're healing and gluten free.  The gluten free diet can be low in B vitamins and other nutrients. A nutritionist can help guide you to a nutrient dense diet, but food sensitivities and food preferences can limit choices.  I can't consume fish and shellfish due to the sulfa hypersensitivity and iodine content, and dairy is out as well.  I react to casein, the protein in dairy, as well as the iodine in dairy.  My Dermatitis Herpetiformis is aggravated by iodine.   Blood tests for B vitamin levels are notoriously inaccurate.  You can have deficiency symptoms before blood levels change to show a deficiency.  I had subclinical vitamin deficiencies for years which affected my health, leading to a slow downward spiral.  Because the B vitamins are water soluble, they are easily excreted in urine if not needed.  It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   Wheat and other gluten containing grain products have vitamins and minerals added to them to replace those nutrients lost in processing.  Manufacturers add cheap vitamins that our bodies don't absorb or utilize well.  Even normal people can suffer from vitamin deficiencies.  The rise in obesity can be caused by High Calorie Malnutrition, where people eat more carbohydrate calories but don't get sufficient thiamine and B vitamins to turn the calories into energy.  The calories are stored as fat in an effort to ration out diminishing thiamine  stores.    It's time to buy your own vitamins in forms like Benfotiamine that our bodies can use well.   Not sleeping well and fatigue are symptoms of Thiamine deficiency.   I'm certain Benfotiamine with a B Complex will help you immensely.  Just don't take them at night since B vitamins provide lots of energy, you can become too energetic to sleep.  Better to take them earlier in your day.   Do keep me posted on your progress!
    • NanceK
Oh wow! Thanks for this information! I’m going to try the Benfotiamine again and will also add a B-complex to my supplements. Presently, I just take sublingual B12 (methylcobalomin). Is supplementation for celiacs always necessary even though you remain gluten-free and you’re healing as shown on endoscopy? I also take D3, mag glycinate, and try to get calcium through diet. I am trying to bump up my energy level because I don’t sleep very well and feel fatigued quite often. I’m now hopeful that adding the Benfotiamine and B-complex will help. I really appreciate your explanation and advice! Thanks again Knitty Kitty!
