Since the upgrade, there have been some recurring issues. Scott is working on them. If you see any board error messages regarding the database, please let Scott or me know right away, by any means you can. I can contact Scott directly by phone.

We are on page 3399, in case anybody hadn't noticed.

So you all had a puhrade and left us out eh? :( (sulking face here and forever more).

How about a post card exchange? Half ya'll ever done one of dem? The art site I frequent does them every Christmas. Everyone gets a name and exchanges some kind of post card, generally something artzy/handmaid. Which can be anything, nothing fancy schmancy or bootiful expected. Postcardz aren't terribly 'spensive to mail, and for now the US post office is still in bussiness. Sew it cud b dun, I tink.

We'd need a Queen to divvy up the names for the exchange tho, as there wood be no way to fairlee do it udderwize. And a cutoff date for participation, to avoid Christmas delivery issues. If this is a turrible idear, let it be known clear and loud! So far the Queen has not approved such an uddertaking, so it may be royally schmashed, as many things are schmashed under her highnass.

Hi to Triticus Toxicome! Thanks for driving by and snortin' your toot at us! :)

Another blast from the past, in honoUr of Thanksgiving! :)

I didn't want to be the first on the 200th page since I'm a newbie here but now that it's safe to post here is something funny that my brother sent me in honour of (Canadian) Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING CONVERSATION THAT SOUNDS DIRTY BUT ISN'T

1. Talk about a huge breast!

2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.

3. It's Cool Whip time!

4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!

5. Whew, that's one terrific spread!

6. Are you ready for seconds yet?

7. It's a little dry, do you still want to eat it?

8. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!

9. Don't play with your meat.

10. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.

11. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?

12. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!

13. You still have a little bit on your chin.

14. How long will it take after you stick it in?

15. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.

16. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that!

17. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!

18. How long do I beat it before it's ready?

(I hope this isn't too raunchy ph34r.gif but it just made me giggle, especially #15)

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Speaking of safety . . ...I just signed off a new req for black-belted security. Dunno wth last administration was up to, but the head of security is saying that w/ some new 'seniority by height' rule, the union won't allow a new addition over 5 feet tall.

Arrrgh how'll I ever find a short blackbelt willing to work for virtually nothing? (At least the work's virtual too)

Anyone got any of those?

PeOter's flashback to page 201..........

Yes, p300 should coincide w/ a coup. (Which doesn't sound like soup, does it soup-sie? laugh.gif )

But I feel somewhat ineligible for the crown when the time comes. (Reminds me of my permanent non-voting status on OMG. Forever the suffragent)

King Richard truly cannot be supplanted, and I'll pass on being Queen, regardless of my proximity to San Francisco. <tho I have been hit on more than a couple times. I'm not sure you ladies can know how disconcerting that is. At least unwanted advances in YOUR direction involve someone wanting to put something somewhere it's intended to be>

You might try "paying" a visit to Peter Jackson's HobbitTown - heck, they is even virtual people so pay will not to be issue and there's bound to be a black belt mongst them somewhere. Trouble is finding the town...

I think Ptaum is directing the question to Vincent, who might know of a certain carrot-top munchkin who has the reqired qualifications :P

But surely child labor (even virtual) would not be countenanced in Psilliville? That would send the Minister of Labor sallying forth on her high steed, cracking whips and busting heads and bums toot sweet.

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.

Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.

Welcome to the forum, @Ben98! If you have been consciously or unconsciously avoiding gluten because of the discomfort it produces then it is likely that your blood antibody testing for celiac disease has been rendered invalid. Valid testing requires regular consumption of generous amounts of gluten. The other strong possibility is that you have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which shares many of the same symptoms with celiac disease but does not have the autoimmune component and thus does not damage the small bowel lining. It is 10x mor common than celiac disease. There is currently no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out. Some experts in the field believe it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Having one or both of the primary genes for developing celiac disease does not imply that you will develop active celiac disease. It simply establishes the potential for it. About 40% of the population has the genetic potential but only about 1% develop active celiac disease.

TTG blood test and total IGA tested on many occasions which have always remained normal, upper GI pain under my ribs since 2022. I had an endoscopy in 2023 which showed moderate gastritis. no biopsy’s were taken unfortunately. genetic test was positive for HLADQ2. extreme bloating after eating gluten, it’ll feel like I’ve got bricks in my stomach so uncomfortably full. the pain is like a dull ache under the upper left almost like a stitch feeling after a long walk. I am just wanting some advice has anyone here experienced gastritis with a gluten issue before? thank you

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.
