For those that have followed me with my bil, please everyone pray. He was found unconscious today in the hospital, and they did an cat scan and found an lesion on his brain and one side is paralzyed. The drs said they can not do anything for him. We can not leave and be with him now cause it is a blizzard here. Please pray we can leave tommorow and make it on time. My husband is not taking this good at all, so also keep him in your prayers.

It was an complication from the mengitsis. He was fine this morning, then he went downhill very fast in 2 hours. He went very fast tho, and i guess we need to be thankful for that.

I am so very sorry, Paula. The holiday season is an especially difficult time to lose a family member. My grandmother was buried on New Year's Day. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

He's 26 again and free of pain, in heaven with family and watching over you all. You will all be together again one day, until then, just know he is with the angels.

Sending you angels too help ease your pain.

Thank you everyone, he is up in heaven with his mom and his big sister. Our 6 yr old son looks exactly like him, even more so now that he is no longer on this earth, so we will always have hubbys brother living on threw our son.

My hubby also thanks you all for your well wishes, he was reading them this morning and crying. He is trying to be strong but i think he is still in the numb stage.

We are still not sure on funeral plans or anything yet, it is so hard when things happen on the weekends, and no one knows of what he wanted. i just hope they let hubby have some say it what is going to happen.

thank you all, things are really an mess. Of course his 2 sisters took over and let my hubby have no say in any of the arrangements. The kicker is the funeral was supposed to be in our hometown, but his sister decided to have it were she lives, were he had only lived for a few months. Cause that way people dont have to travel in the snow. No consideration that we have to drive 4 hours with 5 kids in the snow. This has turned into ww3. I am just so fustrated with it all, my hubby cant even grieve cause he is so upset and hurt.

I wish I could go backhand those two sisters for you. It sounds like they have made everything as hard as they could from the very beginning. I am a firm believer that what goes around comes around and they will get theirs in the end. It doesn't sound like there is any way you can override their decisions, and they don't sound like the decisions your BIL would have wanted, but you will get through this. I hope 'the sisters' realize the damage they are doing and that their actions are going to drive a wedge in the family that may never be removed. You and your family remain in my prayers and I hope this ordeal is over soon and that your dominant memories of your BIL are good ones and not overshadowed by the memories of the sisters attitudes.

I wish i could back hand them to. My hubby had it out with both of them last night, but no progress on the plans that they decided, but they gave lots of excuses for making the plans without him. what it all comes down to is no one wants to pay for any of it, and the ones who have paid some and compainingb about it. Hubby was like if we do it in our hometown, ill pay for the priest and the church, and we already have people that are willing to make the food(and real food, not coldcuts). I was like if everyone would just take 100 out of their christmas budget then he could have a great funeral. It just gets me they always have to have the latest gadgets during christmas, but they cant come up with money for an funeral. And many of the family members make 6 figures an yr. Then they told us we cant bury him now cause the ground is frozen. I really dont think they dotn bury everyone that dies in the winter. So im calling the mortuary today(i went to school with the cornoner) and find out what he really said. The biggbest kicker is they still dont know when the funeral will be, im so over this.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.
