I fiiiiinally tried Text Message - LOVE IT! It looked really dark in the jar, but is beautiful on and stays looking nice all day.

Text message was waaaay too dark for me as a blush, but it works great as an eyeshadow. It really makes my green eyes pop.

My new favorite look for eyes is rare silk as a base, smoky pink on the lid and in the garden as a liner. In the garden is a purple/brown with just a touch of green and I love the look of it. I love all the browns as liners. It's funny because I never wore brown eyeliner before.

I just did our taxes over the weekend and we are getting back almost twice as much as I thought we would. Woo hoo - more makeup! I just know the next special is going to be great. I am really tempted to order another eyeshadow sampler. But I have already ordered 2. I now have over 20 eyeshadow colors with all the free samples and samplers I have gotten. This is more colors than I have ever owned in all my 37 years on the planet combined. But I still want to keep going!

I also wore gingerbread man on Friday. The more I wear that color the more I like it.

I say order now and order later, if you can afford it. :D

:D

Quite possibly could be our best cult motto!

Agreed!

Love your new avatar Donna, your make-up and hair look great! Gorgeous in RED :D

Oh- and I'm loving lavender oil on my face. It is GREAT! Relaxing too. :)

Hey Mango, what happened to your thoughts on the colors in my cart?

I LOVE lavender oil too. I buy the pure oil from the health food store and use a few drops in a handful of this natural salve I slather on my face at night. Then I wash and exfoliate in the AM and the result is smooth skin.

I think i need to go back to the health food store and get lavender oil, you all are selling me on this. My skin is getting so much better since using this makeup(and the candida diet), so im not sure which one is doing the job but hey it makes me think i have to keep using this make up lol.

Im going to order soon, i am still trying to figure out what big sample of foundation i want since i use more that i am using it wet now, but it works so much better. Today i got an compliment at the kids school, they are like you really look nice today, sicne i had my hair and makeup done, most days im running in there with my hair still wet and unbrushed lmao.

Colleen, this look sounds scrumptious!

I have In the Garden in my cart, can't wait to get it!

Woo hoo on the moola coming in for you, MORE make-up for you

I'm also excited for the new website reveal, I have this feeling there are going to be lots of fun new colors and accessories. :D:D

It might take a while, they seem to be very slow in introducing things they say are 'coming soon'.

I know there is a mascara in the works and they have to get more brushes in...they don't even have an eye liner brush up at all now. That's almost tragic!

I say order now and order later, if you can afford it. :D

Sigh, okay! I think I'll order it today.

Good! I have another fun concotion for you to try! It's a mask...take an egg white and some lemon juice and beat it with a hand blender until it forms peaks. Then, apply to your face, after you've "steamed" it, and let it dry completely, then take it off with cool water. It works great! I did it last night and my skin looks really good today! :D

Hey Mango, what happened to your thoughts on the colors in my cart?

Ohhhhhhh yeah! LOL

Are these your colors?

Soft Bronzer - I think you will like this. They are not kidding when they say "soft" though. It just adds a really subtle boost of color, without being too noticeable.

Fresh Air - this one has been on my mental wish list for some time lol.

Corner Office - I like this one. It needs to be applied really lightly. It does have some orange in it, but I think it's an orange that works for cool skin tones. I sometimes add a swipe of Soft Touch (pink) over it. This one stays on all day for me too, and it looks very natural.

Email Me - hmmm, I dunno, but I want it LOL

Snooze Bar - this one is pretty popular on MUA:

Open Original Shared Link

Everyday Bronzer - another one I'll have to get one of these days. LOL

:o Gosh, now I have to consider adding Fresh Air to my cart

I guess that wasn't very helpful, was it? LOL

I am so definitely going to try that later. :D

LOL! It worked for me! Some people say they do it everyday to prevent new acne, but then some say don't do it everyday because your skin gets used to it, and it doesn't work as well.

I usually do masks 2x week.

Oh good...I ordered the silk powder :D. I also ordered the pink finishing powder, which seems kind of strange, but I was persuaded by their description of it

Do you or does anyone else know which line of makeup products you should not use???? I was just diagnose three weeks ago and I was thinking about the makeup I use and was wondering if I should swiitch. (I use Lancome)

Thanks for the make-up info! ;)

If you're worried about it, you could always order a free sample kit from EM. As you can see, it's quite popular. All EM make-up is gluten-free (as far as I know).

Ok, I guess when EM says shipped, it does not mean it is out the door and on the way. Shipped must mean "we printed the label". Anyway, my order showed "shipped" for 2 days, but the tracking number wouldn't work. Finally, Saturday it showed that it wasn't picked up until 6:00pm Friday evening.

I did the 2 day DHL, but now it says it won't be here until Tues. 5:00pm. I have to leave town Tuesday afternoon, so I probably won't get it in time. Oh well, live and learn.

This is what I ordered:

dlp252 Apprentice

Aw WW...I'm hoping it comes sooner than predicted!

Fun order by the way!

Mango04 Enthusiast

Okay so here is my dilemma. Perhaps you all can provide some insight and advice

My last chance to order EM for a while will be the last week of this month. After that, I will have a bit of a....more expensive shipping situation <_<

So....do I go ahead and order now?

Or...

Do I wait and hope they have a new (and perhaps more exciting) special, or even a new website, at some point between Feb. 15th and Feb. twenty-something....

If I wait, they might end up having no special during that period of time, soo....hmmmm.....

decisions, decisions....

-_- <-------- (deep in thought emoticon guy)

:P <----- (just to show you I'm not really taking this too seriously lol)

I guess since it's currently "now," that means I should go order. I will worry about the later part some other time.

WAIT, does this mean Mango is going undercover again as an international spy, traveling to far corners of the globe in order to bring us back top intellegence from the competition, perhaps competing mineral make-up companies this time around??

Hmmm, no advice to give here, I am struggling with the same questions.

I have a feeling that new colors will be coming out, if you pick apart the words of the new special (like a good cult member would do) they say that the freebies are sample sizes of some of their new products that will be released later this month.

:o

That sounds very promising!!!!!

But then again, there are no guarantees, and look at this recent special, 5% on $35, it actually got worse

I also suspect as much.

I'm not sure if I like all the premature announcements about potential new products.....maybe it's all just part of their strategy to keep us curious and excited about things...but <_<

LOL. I guess it works though. They do seem to be able to keep us on the edge of our seats.

I'm finding that dusting my eyelids with finishing powder is working to cut down the oil there...working really well for me.

dlp - thank you, I am keeping my fingers crossed. I may have to delay my departure, lol.

juliem - thank you, I hope my order looks as fabulous on me as it does on paper, lol.

Thank you, Bellyfat, I will let you know how I like the brush. I decided I needed all the help I could get, so I am trying to get all the right brushes.I hope it looks as fabulous on me as it does on paper, lol.

Mango - That is a tough decision. I decided to order now and order later, but I can understand the decision is worse if you know you would have to wait longer to order later. Hmmm, this is starting to sound like addictive behavior. We may have to start a new support thread lol.

BTW - how do you make those multiple quotes in your replies?

At the bottom of each peson's quote there is a little button that says quote. Click each one you want to respond to, and then click add reply at the bottom of the page. When the reply box comes up, it will be populated with all the posts you wanted to respond to. Just snip out the part you don't want and leave the rest.

Guess what, cult members? I got a raise today! Not a huge one (unexpected, though), but enough to give me a reason to celebrate. I wonder what i should buy to commemorate the occasion.......

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette

Your goal is not to be a good puppet, there is no gain in that. You might want to restart the ones that helped.  It sounds more like you are suffering from malnutrition.  Gluten free foods are not fortified with things like Thiamine (B1), vitamin D, Iodine, B1,2,3,5,6 and 12 as non-gluten free products are required to be. There is a Catch-22 here.  Malnutrition can cause SIBO, and SIBO can worsen malnutrition. Another possibility is side effects from any medication that are taking.  I was on Metformin 3 months before it turned me into a zombi.  I had crippling side effects from most of the BP meds tried on me, and Losartan has many of the side effects on me from my pre gluten free days. Because you have been gluten free, you can test and talk until you are blue in the face but all of your tests will be negative.  Without gluten, you will not create the antigen against gluten, no antigens to gluten, so no small intestine damage from the antigens.  You will need to do a gluten challange to test positive if you need an official diagnosis, and even then, no guaranty: 10 g of gluten per day for 6 weeks! Then a full panel of Celiac tests and biopsy. At a minimum consider vitamin D, Liquid Iodine (unless you have dermatitis herpetiformis and iodine exasperates the rash), and Liquid Geritol. Push for vitamin D testing and a consult with a nutritionist experienced with Celiack Disease.  Most blood tests don't indicate nutritional deficiencies.  Your thyroid tests can be perfect, yet not indicate iodine deficiency for example.  Thiamine   test fine, but not pick up on beriberi.  Vegans are often B12 deficient because meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy are the primary souces of B12. Here is what I take daily.  10,000 IU vitamin D3 750 mg g a b a [   ] 200 mg CoQ10 [   ] 100 mg DHEA [   ] 250 mg thiamine B1 [   ] 100 mg of B2 [   ] 500 mg B5 pantothenic acid [   ] 100 mg B6 [   ] 1000 micrograms B12 n [   ] 500 mg vitamin c [   ] 500 mg taurine [   ] 200 mg selenium

Hi…Just a note that if you have an allergy to sulfa it’s best not to take Benfotiamine. I bought a bottle and tried one without looking into it first and didn’t feel well.  I checked with my pharmacist and he said not to take it with a known sulfa allergy. I was really bummed because I thought it would help my energy level, but I was thankful I was given this info before taking more of it.

Hello @Scatterbrain, Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals.  Gluten free food is not fortified so you may be starting to run low on B vitamins and vitamin D.   By the way you should get your mom checked for celiac disease.  You got it from your mom or dad.  Some studies show that following a gluten-free diet can stabilize or improve symptoms of dementia.  I know that for the 63 years I was eating gluten I got dumber and dumber until I started GFD and vitamin replenishment and it began to reverse.  Thiamine can get used up in a week or two.  Symptoms can come and go with daily diet.  Symptoms of beriberi due to Thiamine deficiency.   Difficulty walking. Loss of feeling (sensation) in hands and feet. Loss of muscle function or paralysis of the lower legs. Mental confusion. Pain. Speech difficulties. Strange eye movements (nystagmus) Tingling. Any change in medications? Last March I had corotid artery surgery (90 % blockage), and I started taking Losartan for blood pressure, added to the Clonidine I was taking already.  I was not recovering well and many of my pre gluten free symptoms were back  I was getting worse.  At first I thought it was caused a reaction to the anesthesia from the surgery, but that should have improved after two weeks.  Doctor thought I was just being a wimp. After three months I talked to my doctor about a break from the Losartan to see if it was causing it. It had not made any difference in my bp.  Except for clonindine, all of the previous bp meds tried had not worked to lower bp and had crippling side effects. One, I could not stand up straight; one wobbly knees, another spayed feet.  Inguinal hernia from the Lisinopril cough.  Had I contiued on those, I was destined for a wheelchair or walker. She said the symptoms were not from Losartan so I continued taking it.  Two weeks later I did not have the strength in hips and thighs to get up from sitting on the floor (Help, I can't get up😨).  I stopped AMA (not recommended).  Without the Losartan, a) bp did not change, after the 72 hour withdrawal from Losartanon, on clonidine only and b) symptoms started going away.  Improvement started in 72 hours.  After six weeks they were gone and I am getting better.
