 foster farms corn dogs

i bought those!  then the website didn't say if it was dedicated, blah, so i just called to double check.  and got their voicemail, then they called me back and got MY voicemail.  twice.....  i should have asked the question on the voicemail and they could have answered on my voicemail.  anyways, i fed them to the grandkids and they love them, so i bought them again.  you did ok with them, then, i'm assuming?

I have a coupon for the corn dogs but the store it's for doesn't have them. <_< I need to tell them to get some before the coupon expires. They shouldn't be putting coupons for gluten free stuff on my app if they aren't gonna have it in my store.

Tonight is waffle night. I'm finally gonna break in my new waffle iron. Yay! We'll have sausage or ham or something with it. I don't know, not worried about it this early.

Yesterday the girl who missed a few weeks at the limeade stand came back, apparently she hurt her shoulder and couldn't work for a while. She came to talk to Jose next to me to see if she could get some tacos, but he immediately told her no because he didn't bring any corn tortillas. She shrugged it off, said something else and was walking off when I couldn't resist running over. I asked if she had celiac, she does, I said I do too then told her we have a tamale vendor if she needed lunch since Jose couldn't feed her. We talked for a minute and we both excited to randomly run into another celiac person just dealing with the same struggle but managing happily in the same place. It was great. Then after she walked away I realized that I walked away from my husband while he was in the middle of a sentence to talk to her. Oops. I'm so lucky he's so understanding.

Black bean burgers with lettuce, tomato, and pickle on Red Robin buns (they let you purchase extras to take home!), potato salad, Lay's potato chips, and watermelon. :)

Breakfast for dinner after we go see James Camerans new movie.

Hubs has been riding both weekend mornings since he got over the virus from hell...so boys haven't had a big breakfast lately.

You can talk to him anytime....a new Sillyak friend to be made would take priority for me too.

Yeah for new Psilly Yak friends!

Tonight we had lasagna ( not crockpot) and Italian casserole. The casserole was soooo good. I used red sauce and made a pesto cream sauce and cheeses. The lasagna was good, too. Salad and Snickers cookie bars for dessert

Yes I had lettuce on the too. Before I found the pure knead bread I was making lettuce wraps. :-)

Haha. This makes me think of last night when I went to my favorite "watering hole" and got a few drinks (they got Johnny Appleseed on draft now! I tell myself it's just for me!) But anywho, one of the servers comes up to me and asks "what gluten free beers do we have?" Weird I know, but she knows I can't have gluten, so she decided to ask a trusted source. Of course, being the nosey person I am, I watch to see what table she was asking for, and who got the gluten free beer...I kinda wish I had gone over and said something to the girl who got it, but she was with what appeared to be parents and at long and neice, so I didn't. :-/ It would def be nice to meet someone my own age in my area who has celiac.

And now for a post related to the thread topic....tonight for dinner I decided to be a little uncreative...just simple pasta with diced grilled chicken and red sauce. Pretty good for being simple stuffs.

That's why we added the word "chart" to the title! Lol

The app for Smith's. It's in the Kroger family of stores and it was my understanding that all of them have their own apps. They probably have similar coupons too. I can't honestly remember now though if it's a regular coupon or a "customer best" coupon which is one of the ones tailored to me and how I shop. They just loaded those again at the same time this one appeared. They also do a free Friday download every week, and even when it isn't something I can have (like last week it was a Chili's entree frozen meal) I still get it and either feed it to my husband because it's free food or take it to the food bank if he won't eat it. They're my favorite store to shop at because they sell Udi's on the shelf and mark it down two days before it's dated. I brought home chocolate muffins last week. :D

WOAH WOAH WOAH please tell me how to make these :D  I am going to die if I don't get that into my mouth!

Around here they have Kroger which is in that family, you can go online and link coupons to your plus card. They have the free thing every Friday as well.  I know there are Krogers in middle georgia where my relatives live, may want to check it out Georgiaguy!

I use about 6-8 oz of semi-sweet chips for the top (not milk chocolate).

The problem is - they make a lot - a 9 x 13 pan.  Good when you have other people to eat some of them.

Oh great...glad I needn't worry...carry on ;)

Our waffles were good. They weren't bland or anything, but they were plain. I think in the future we'll add fruit or something to them. I do really love my new waffle iron though! Cooking four waffles at a time really makes it go fast so I'm not in the kitchen all night making dinner. And there are plenty of leftovers for breakfast and snacks.

I want to make fried chicken, but the chicken won't be thawed for tonight. I think we'll just have pasta, I'll leave it up to my husband what he wants. He's been bugging me for chicken alfredo so we may have that. Or we may have spaghetti with red sauce. I don't know yet, but something easy since I have something with so much more effort planned for tomorrow. What I do know for sure is there will be waffles between now and then.

Just stopped at Target, and the wow cookies are on sale.  Took all my strength to buy just one bag.  Those things are so good!  Tonight I am going to make chicken stir fry for dinner, one of the few ways I get my husband to eat his veggies!

I just found out a local company makes a whiskey salami with a whiskey from a local distillery. And it's on sale. Looks like I need to go shopping at a particular store this week. I love trying new and exciting things!

I have pork chops out, not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, maybe grill them.

Got London broil defrosting here...may throw it in KFG with diced jalapeños and onions for another round of green beef...there were no leftovers last week...the kid that works nights didn't get any. Plus it is easy . Win, win :)

Whiskey Salami sound very interesting!

These are awesome! I subbed almonds and almond butter as one son is avoiding peanuts and made it safe for me to take a nibble.

Yum!

Ps...thanks Karen and I used semi sweet like K recommends.

@BlessedinBoston, it is possible that in Canada the product in question is formulated differently than in the USA or at least processed in in a facility that precludes cross contamination. I assume from your user name that you are in the USA. And it is also possible that the product meets the FDA requirement of not more than 20ppm of gluten but you are a super sensitive celiac for whom that standard is insufficient.

No,Lindt is not gluten free no matter what they say on their website. I found out the hard way when I was newly diagnosed in 2000. At that time the Lindt truffles were just becoming popular and were only sold in small specialty shops at the mall. You couldn't buy them in any stores like today and I was obsessed with them 😁. Took me a while to get around to checking them and was heartbroken when I saw they were absolutely not gluten free 😔. Felt the same when I realized Twizzlers weren't either. Took me a while to get my diet on order after being diagnosed. I was diagnosed with small bowel non Hodgkins lymphoma at the same time. So it was a very stressful time to say the least. Hope this helps 😁.

@Jmartes71, I understand your frustration and anger.  I've been in a similar situation where no doctor took me seriously, accused me of making things up, and eventually sent me home to suffer alone.   My doctors did not recognize nutritional deficiencies.  Doctors are trained in medical learning institutions that are funded by pharmaceutical companies.  They are taught which medications cover up which symptoms.  Doctors are required to take twenty  hours of nutritional education in seven years of medical training.  (They can earn nine hours in Nutrition by taking a three day weekend seminar.)  They are taught nutritional deficiencies are passe' and don't happen in our well fed Western society any more.  In Celiac Disease, the autoimmune response and inflammation affects the absorption of ALL the essential vitamins and minerals.  Correcting nutritional deficiencies caused by malabsorption is essential!  I begged my doctor to check my Vitamin D level, which he did only after making sure my insurance would cover it.  When my Vitamin D came back extremely low, my doctor was very surprised, but refused to test for further nutritional deficiencies because he "couldn't make money prescribing vitamins.". I believe it was beyond his knowledge, so he blamed me for making stuff up, and stormed out of the exam room.  I had studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I switched because I was curious what vitamins from our food were doing in our bodies.  Vitamins are substances that our bodies cannot manufacture, so we must ingest them every day.  Without them, our bodies cannot manufacture life sustaining enzymes and we sicken and die.   At home alone, I could feel myself dying.  It's an unnerving feeling, to say the least, and, so, with nothing left to lose, I relied in my education in nutrition.  My symptoms of Thiamine deficiency were the worst, so I began taking high dose Thiamine.  I had health improvement within an hour.  It was magical.  I continued taking high dose thiamine with a B Complex, magnesium. and other essential nutrients.  The health improvements continued for months.  High doses of thiamine are required to correct a thiamine deficiency because thiamine affects every cell and mitochondria in our bodies.    A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function.  The cerebellum of the brain is most affected.  The cerebellum controls things we don't have to consciously have to think about, like digestion, balance, breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, hormone regulation, and many more.  Thiamine is absorbed from the digestive tract and sent to the most important organs like the brain and the heart.  This leaves the digestive tract depleted of Thiamine and symptoms of Gastrointestinal Beriberi, a thiamine deficiency localized in the digestive system, begin to appear.  Symptoms of Gastrointestinal Beriberi include anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, headaches, Gerd, acid reflux, gas, slow stomach emptying, gastroparesis, bloating, diarrhea and/or constipation, incontinence, abdominal pain, IBS,  SIBO, POTS, high blood pressure, heart rate changes like tachycardia, difficulty swallowing, Barrett's Esophagus, peripheral neuropathy, and more. Doctors are only taught about thiamine deficiency in alcoholism and look for the classic triad of symptoms (changes in gait, mental function, and nystagmus) but fail to realize that gastrointestinal symptoms can precede these symptoms by months.  All three classic triad of symptoms only appear in fifteen percent of patients, with most patients being diagnosed with thiamine deficiency post mortem.  I had all three but swore I didn't drink, so I was dismissed as "crazy" and sent home to die basically.   Yes, I understand how frustrating no answers from doctors can be.  I took OTC Thiamine Hydrochloride, and later thiamine in the forms TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) and Benfotiamine to correct my thiamine deficiency.  I also took magnesium, needed by thiamine to make those life sustaining enzymes.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins, so the other B vitamins must be supplemented as well.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   A doctor can administer high dose thiamine by IV along with the other B vitamins.  Again, Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Thiamine should be given if only to rule Gastrointestinal Beriberi out as a cause of your symptoms.  If no improvement, no harm is done. Share the following link with your doctors.  Section Three is especially informative.  They need to be expand their knowledge about Thiamine and nutrition in Celiac Disease.  Ask for an Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test for thiamine deficiency.  This test is more reliable than a blood test. Thiamine, gastrointestinal beriberi and acetylcholine signaling.  https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12014454/ Best wishes!

Wondering if anyone knows whether Lindt chocolate balls are gluten free. The Lindt Canadian website says yes but the Lindt USA website says no. The information is a bit confusing.
