  1. Can you share what parasitic infection they found? I'm still not sure how a parasitic infection would increase your TTG score.
  2. I agree with @trents, this is akin to a person's blood sugar being 1 point below the cut off line for diabetes, and the doctor saying that you've passed the test--there is nothing wrong here--no need to make any dietary changes! In this case you're just below the cut off point, and people who don't have any autoimmune issues with gluten would never,...
  3. Welcome to the forum! Is there a chance that you could post the full blood test results here, along with the high marker/cut off for celiac disease? This info could be very helpful to better understand your results.
  4. Yes, they are naturally gluten-free. You can check ingredients of foods against this listing:
  5. Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you should definitely stay on a strict gluten-free diet, and it is too bad you had to go through this. To me it doesn't sound like you need a test to justify you staying on this diet. Recovery time can vary, but most people feel much better within a few weeks, so hopefully you will notice some big changes soon.
  6. Hi Jett, welcome to the forum! You may already know this but in order to get a blood test for celiac disease you need to eat gluten daily for at least 6 weeks, otherwise you may get false negative results. I’m not sure how long you’ve been on the gluten-free diet, but it sounds like you found out already that it has helped you a lot with your sym...
  7. Our pleasure, and it's great to hear you're doing well!
  8. You would be surprised...some of the best gluten-free products come from Italy. Barilla gluten-free pasta is an example, and you could not tell the difference between it and wheat pasta. They actually mass screen kids for celiac disease in many areas of Italy, and so their diagnosis rate is higher than many other European countries.
  9. Gliadin is broken down by AN-PEP in the stomach, according to the peer reviewed studies that you can read below: Open Original Shared Link
  10. She should consider a blood test for celiac disease. ~44% of first degree relatives of celiacs also have it.
  11. Celiac.com 03/24/2021 - If you're looking for an easy, nutritious soup that cooks quick and delivers on flavor, then this ham, bean and potato soup is just the ticket. This recipe offers a delightful combination of vegetables, chicken...
  12. Due to the fact that beer is fermented and filtered, even regular beer would be considered low gluten, although not necessarily gluten-free. We've done at least one article on this topic: So I'm not advising that you continue, however you likely want to avoid weizen beers, and go for clear ones. Also, there are beers in Germany that are rendered gluten...
  13. In case your doctor didn't mention this, you need to keep eating gluten daily until all tests for celiac disease are completed.
  14. I'm not aware of grain alcohols containing glyphosate, so you need to post a link to info that would back this up. Distillation effectively removes nearly all contaminants, including gluten. I'm sorry to hear you're having so many issues, but feel free to join our forum where others who've dealt with similar issues might be able to offer some advice...
  15. This is true, but you can certainly also easily find healthy foods, as we have many grocery stores and now restaurants that cater to more healthy eaters.
  16. Yes, I think that is the test.
  17. Celiac.com 03/23/2021 - We get a lot of questions here about what products may contain gluten. One question we've seen a lot recently is about Pedialyte. Specifically, is Pedialyte gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? ...
  18. Rice and corn are gluten-free, so it's your call how far you want to take your elimination diet. You may want to limit certain things for 2-3 weeks at a time and keep a food diary when you add them back. Given that it sounds like your symptoms are improving on the gluten-free diet, it probably makes sense not to add gluten back unless you want to get a blood...
  19. I think you mean 3 per day, and not 100...3x 100mg = 300mg, right?
  20. I believe that if they take the skin biopsy correct during a flare up, they may still be able to diagnose it correctly without you having to eat gluten, but I may be wrong about this. I do know that DH can only be properly diagnosed via a skin biopsy during a flare up. You're welcome...I'm glad the site has helped you and hope you stick around and let us...
  21. Eating sugar and processed flours/starches can cause SIBO (bacterial overgrowth) and other issues. Many gut problems can be helped by switching over to whole gluten-free grains and whole foods, and avoiding the processed "junk" foods, even if they are gluten-free.
  22. Buckwheat should be good, but get used to looking for "gluten-free" when you buy things like that, as grains can be cross-contaminated.
