  1. Many celiacs report that coffee seems to cause them IBS symptoms. I'm not sure if decaf would make a difference or not, but please let us know. For the record, pure coffee is gluten-free.
  2. Here is an article on the gluten challenge:
  3. As usual, your recipes look amazing! Thank you for sharing Vonnie!
  4. You can search for the prescription here, and find ingredients as well: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/index.cfm
  5. I take a B-complex, D3, and Citrical, and recently added Magnesium Citrate and benfotaimine (B1) which seemed to help.
  6. Celiac.com 03/10/2021 - Even though the FDA recently confirmed that all distilled spirits, including rum, are gluten-free, we get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain brands and products are gluten-free...
  7. Welcome to the forum @KJ2244! Unfortunately it sounds like you are having classic symptoms, and being on a low gluten diet for so long probably spared you from feeling this badly all the time. Did your doctor mention anything about a blood test? You should also get this done, however, you normally need to eat gluten daily for at least 6 weeks before...
  8. Celiac.com 03/09/2021 - We get a lot of questions here about what products may contain gluten. One question we've seen a lot recently is about drinking straws. The switch away from plastic straws has opened up a straw wonderland of sorts...
  9. the European Society for the Study of Coeliac Disease (ESsCD) and the KG Jebsen Coeliac Disease Research Centre at the University of Oslo will organize a bi-monthly virtual seminar series on celiac disease. The program for the spring term...

  11. A blessing in disguise? 😅
  12. Celiac.com 03/08/2021 - When people with celiac disease eat gluten, it triggers adaptive immune cells, which cause damage to the lining of the small intestine. Doctors gauge the severity of celiac disease through histological assessment...
  13. Is Majestic Guaradelli Cocoa Powder gluten-free? It isn't labelled "gluten-free" but is 100% cocoa so naturally gluten-free, and does not disclose wheat as an allergen:
  14. I take a magnesium citrate supplement daily, and when I first started taking it I did notice a laxative effect so stopped taking it for a few days, then added it back a few days later. I had to repeat this for a couple of weeks but my body adjusted to it, and I haven't had any issues with it for months now.
  15. You may want to take your doctor's advice, or at least consult with them regarding your alternative approach, as your levels are quite low.
  16. Many celiacs, including myself, are diagnosed with H. Pylori at the time of their celiac diagnosis. I was given antibiotics for it at the time, but clearly the reason I had this issue was the condition of my intestines at that time.
  17. @JenniK Most celiacs don’t have obvious symptoms, or are asymptomatic. I would follow your doctor’s instructions and get the blood test in a month. Let us know how it turns out.
  18. Welcome to the forum, this article might be helpful:
  19. To me it sounds like you have a wheat allergy in addition to a possible gluten sensitivity. In many cases I do think the gluten challenge is done too often, and many of the people who post on this forum have already figured out that they have a sensitivity to gluten, so they don’t really need to go on a challenge to get the medical diagnosis. Around 12% ...
  20. So if you eliminated all things that don’t have gluten-free on the label we’re talking about 95% of all foods. It’s important to be too strict too, as this can cause a lot of extra stress. I don’t expect my milk to be tested for gluten content, as well as many other naturally gluten-free foods.
  21. Welcome to the forum! Have you tried any probiotics? also many people with celiac disease have vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Are you taking some good B complex vitamin supplements, vitamin D, magnesium citrate, Thiamine, etc.?
