CBD Oil
Scott Adams replied to CatcherInTheRye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I can't think of a reason that CBD oil would contain any gluten, but then again, there are 100's of foods that shouldn't contain hidden gluten, but do. I suppose they could put cheaper wheat germ oil in it to be more profitable by diluting the product. I do think many celiac could benefit from using CBD oil, as it has many benefits, especially for those whose... -
Among first degree relatives who are female studies have shown that the odds of your mother also having it are over 44%. All first-degree relatives of celiacs should also be screened, even if they don't have symptoms.

That's great to hear that you were able to get the appointment expedited, and now finally have your answer so you can now focus on your recovery. The gluten-free diet is easier now than ever, even though it can at times be a pain, especially if you travel and eat outside your home. Also, I was diagnosed many years ago, but @AlexInferno, please let us...

I had to look up the AIP diet, it looks to be the "Autoimmune Protocol Diet." Just so you know, eggs are 100% gluten-free, and should not trigger DH, so this may not be your answer. Certainly some celiacs and others have egg intolerance, I had chicken egg intolerance temporarily for a few years at the time of my celiac diagnosis (duck eggs caused me no issues...

Just diagnosed celiac and terrified of MS
Scott Adams replied to Kyleweber's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It isn't common, but you would be more likely than someone who does not have an autoimmune disease. Gluten ataxia is more common. But the good news is that gluten ataxia can go away on a gluten-free diet.- 17 replies

Just diagnosed celiac and terrified of MS
Scott Adams replied to Kyleweber's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just want to mention that there is a relationship between MS and celiac disease, as it is an autoimmune disease and have any autoimmune disease can increase your risk of having other. Here are some articles on this, but if your MS symptoms are gluten-related then going 100% gluten-free should greatly reduce your risk of getting MS, as well as other autoimmune...- 17 replies

Gluten Removed Beer
Scott Adams replied to JBee's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Correct, I've not had issues with them. They use a commercial AN-PEP enzyme to remove the gluten, and there have been many studies done on this enzyme and it's ability to do this, in fact, this is how AN-PEP first got attention as something that might help celiacs--it has been used in the commercial brewing industry for many years as a clarifying agent. ... -

Gluten Removed Beer
Scott Adams replied to JBee's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've had several gluten-removed beer, and like Omission's line of gluten-removed beers. Before my diagnosis I drank mostly beer, then switched to wine afterwards. I did spend about 2 years working on a recipe for a gluten-free beer made from malted sorghum and rice, and was considering launching a gluten-free brewery, but gave up due to the laws at the time... -

If you can tolerate plain Greek yogurt it is good for healing the gut after long stints on antibiotics. If you can't do cow's milk you may be able to tolerate sheep's or goat's milk yogurts. Probiotics supplements are also good for this. Although I don't have SIBO, I started taking a Bifidobacterium infantis supplement after reading this study: and...

Not many nut companies are certified gluten-free, so it would be strange if they were contaminated with gluten. Can you share the brand? Many people, including myself, eat Planters brand nuts, even though they are not labelled or certified gluten-free, without issues. You need to check the ingredient labels carefully because not all of their products...

L glutamine
Scott Adams replied to Joepilk34's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Many on this forum have taken L-glutamine to help repair their gut, although that trend was more popular 5-10 years ago. I believe there is some research that backs up that it helps lower gut inflammation and speed healing. The current new hot supplement for celiacs might be tryptophan, as recent studies have shown that it also helps with gut recovery. -
Let us know what you find out. Also, you mentioned you had a blood test that was negative. Can you share those results? I wonder if your gluten antibodies were elevated at all. DH is the skin manifestation of celiac disease, so if you were eating gluten daily before the blood tests it would surprise me if none of the panels were elevated.
