  1. I think if you make a meal using whole foods that are unprocessed, this should be easy, just do not add any salt/sodium to the meal and instead use spices or spice mixes to add flavor. I know this answer may not be what you're looking for, but something as simple as steamed broccoli, a baked potato, and a piece of salmon fried in a pan would likely fit the...
  2. Yes, it might be a good idea to get your vitamin levels checked. I have a similar issue with my right leg that is related to restless leg syndrome (RLS), and my B12 levels are actually high, but I've been supplementing B1 lately and it seems to help with the tingle/needle feeling, which, in my opinion, triggers the RLS, at least in my case.
  3. The actual name is "Wasabi & Soy Sauce Flavored Almonds" which gives you a big clue--soy sauce usually contains wheat, and that is true in this case. They are NOT gluten-free: https://www.bluediamond.com/brand/classic-snack-almonds/bold-flavors/wasabi-and-soy-sauce
  4. Note that although there is great research that shows AN-PEP can break down gluten in the stomach, before it reaches your intestines, it is not meant to be used to allow someone to cheat on their gluten-free diet. People with celiac disease must maintain a 100% gluten-free diet, and I say this even for those with gluten sensitivity. That said, the best...
  5. Unless you have an allergy to cow's milk you should be able to try this out for a short time to determine if you can tolerate it. It is gluten-free, so I assume you are maintaining a gluten-free diet but also have an issue with cow's milk. It wasn't clear from your post exactly what your concerns and issues are.
  6. Celiac.com 05/18/2020 - Most people with celiac disease see a major improvement in the weeks and months after they begin a gluten-free diet. Most celiac patients on a gluten-free diet experience full gut healing within the first few months...
  7. Celiac disease can manifest symptoms in many ways, and the most common ones show up in the gut, skin, and brain/nervous system. The only way to be really sure would be to get a blood test for this, but that would involve going back on gluten again daily for 4 to 6 weeks. If you are certain that your symptoms are much better without gluten, and can...
  8. I've definitely heard of many women who claimed that they began having symptoms of celiac disease once they got pregnant, although I've not heard this specifically regarding the taking, or stopping of taking, birth control pills. There are many known environmental triggers of celiac disease, including but not limited to certain viruses. It would not...
  9. I would contact your local food banks and churches that may offer food help. Also, you may want to contact the CDF www.celiac.org.
  10. Celiac.com 05/15/2020 - The opinions of researchers are currently divided over the connection between celiac disease and inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). A team of researchers recently set out to to assess evidence for an association...
  11. I think she has a standard one that is probably in her books, but I see a reference to it here: *Gluten-free Flour Mixture: The flour mixture I use is a combination of rice, potato starch, tapioca and garbanzo bean flours, cornstarch and xanthan gum. If you are allergic to any of these products, alternative flours may be substituted. And here...
  12. Celiac.com 05/14/2020 - We know a lot more than ever about celiac disease, but researchers still don't have very much good information about environmental risk factors in genetically susceptible populations. For example, does environmental...
  13. Although this article is older, it still indicates that even though you are very unlikely to have celiac disease if you don't have the genetic markers for it, you can still have gluten sensitivity: Also, since your 23andMe tests were done there have been more genetic markers linked to celiac disease, so it a newer test may give different results. Let...
  14. Celiac.com 05/13/2019 - People with celiac and other diseases are being forced back to work by political leaders demanding that they sacrifice themselves and their loved ones to "help the economy." The problem is not simply relegated...
  15. Besides eliminating all gluten forever, many with DH must also cut back on foods high in iodine for good as well.
  16. At a glance: https://www.aveda.com/product/5197/16409/body/rosemary-mint-hand-and-body-wash I don't see anything in the ingredients that would include gluten.
  17. I think it's fair to say that these drugs are powerful, and have powerful effects. Psilocybin, the psychoactive ingredient in mushrooms is now being studied by several groups as possibly the most power anti-depressant drug known to man (one positive "trip" could, in some people, relieve depressive symptoms for years), however, I've also seen people and heard...
  18. Celiac.com 05/13/2020 - With the collapse of the Nexvax 2 'vaccine" for celiac disease, which was really more like allergy therapy, but which has been abandoned after poor results in clinical trials, the hope for an outright cure, or ...

  20. 05/12/2020 - Finding gluten-free food amid the chaos of panic food buying due to the Covid-19 pandemic can be a challenge for regular folks. For people with celiac disease, that task can be difficult, and failure can mean not having nutritious...
