  1. Blood cells are a lot larger than a molecule and they go through small blood vessels. Cells contain lots of molecules. Nonetheless, I agree that gluten would not be in an injection. I just wanted to give you a reference size for large molecules, small blood vessels, cells, etc.

  7. Celiac disease affects all sorts of systems in the body. I wouldn't be surprised if it is found to affect vitamin D production as well as absorption. Perhaps that is why vitamin D levels go back up upon removal of gluten from the diet.
  8. I don't think so. I've always spent a lot of time outside. I lived in that same northern city that whole time too. I think that healing the damage caused by celiac disease probably helped with my vitamin D levels too.

  12. It is easy to get into the trap of eliminating one food after another. You improve because our bodies heal over time and then you think it is because of the foods that you have eliminated. Then the next time that you get glutened you eliminate more foods and so on. You can end up with little to eat and you have eliminated those foods for the wrong reasons...

  18. Something like 10% of celiacs also have problems with oats, even gluten free ones. The protein structure is similar to gluten such that for some of us, it reacts the same way.   20. The problem is that the answer isn't the same for all celiacs. Some of us have to be very careful about contamination to avoid symptoms, and some of us don't.   21. Sorry for the possible confusion. I had mentioned that I reacted to rice so I wanted to indicate that it could be from oats and not gluten.

  23. I have some thoughts: If you have a real sensitivty to gluten, you would get serious symptoms from eating it. If you get serious symptoms from eating gluten, would you enroll in a study where you might be fed gluten? This study would select for people who do not have a real sensitivity to gluten.
  24. Alter Eco has rice certified gluten-free by GIG. That's what my son and I eat. We have had problems with other rice. We are also oat sensitive.
  25. Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry that you are having problems. To offer help, more information is needed. Do you have a celiac disease diagnosis? Did you get an endoscopy? Why do you think that you have problems with gluten? How did you get the severe hayfever diagnosis?
