ARCHIVED Craving Oreos?
Roda replied to Diane-in-FL's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here is a link to the recipe. It would be easy enough to make dairy and egg free. Come to think of it the one time I made these I did make them dairy free using almond milk (which I know is out for you) and substituted the butter with something (don't remember now). Coconut oil comes to mind as a good sub and would be tasty too. Open Original Shared... -

Roda replied to Diane-in-FL's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well crap. The glutino has eggs and soy and the k-toos have soy in them. I have a recipe somewhere for oreo type cookies that may work for you. I'll get back when I find it. -
ARCHIVED I Admit It, I Can't Control Myself

I'm like that with cookies and cakes, well most baked goods. I've been naughty too lately and I can tell a difference when I eat all of that sugar. I too find it easier to just do without. It is hard for me though since the rest of the family wants some treats once in a while so I still bake some. It's hard cause I know carbs are my enemy especially when... -

I found some Kinnikinnick donuts at a Food Lion in Lancaster, SC of all places. We got the cinnamon/sugar. OMG they were good. My gluten eating husband said they were even better than the high priced donuts I got from a gluten free bakery in Downtown Disney. Go figure, I had a reaction to the ones in Disney (yes dedicated gluten free bakery. I reacted... -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker Gluten Free Devils Food
Roda replied to Elfbaby's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes we love the gluten free Betty Crocker line. The devils food cake is great. The yellow cake mix is good but to make it moist it needs a little TLC. I mix 2oz of softened cream cheese into the batter and pull it out of the oven a little early (still a few fudgy crumbs on the toothpick) and it turns out great. I was talking to a mom in my son's kindergarden... -

I haven't tried that brand but the K-Toos (KinniToos) by Kinnikinnick are awesome. -
I don't see why not. I have substituted almond and coconut milk before for the waffles. It does affect the texture and cooking time but they turned out great.

My aunt had begun to lactate and wasn't pregnant. She went to her doctor and found her prolactin levels were high. Next they did a MRI of her brain and found a pitituary microadenoma. It is a benign tumor that was causing her prolactin level to be elevated. She takes medication now and is back to normal. I'm not saying this is what you have, but worth...

I made the snickerdoodles from gluten free Bisquik. The only thing I did different is add 1/8 - 1/4 tsp. of xanthan gum. They were fantastic the best ones I have made yet. Everyone loved them! Open Original Shared Link I have also made the sugar cookies out of the yellow cake mix. First time I thought they were to crumbly so the next time I added...

My oldest had never been dry a day in his life at night since he was born till he was a little over 6 years old. I was potty trainging his little brother at the time and thought it would be a good chance for him too. I bought an enuresis alarm by Malem it worked great. In the booklet that came with it it said it could take up to several months to be sucessfull... -
My parents have done very well on the SB diet. I have tried it two different times. First time I lost about 10# in the first three weeks. I had to quit at that time because I was having a flare up of symptoms. I recently started back on it, phase 1 and noticed a few pounds dropping. However, I have strayed a bit in the last week and have come to a stand...

That really sucks that the doctor wouldn't test your hormone levels. I'm only 38 and my endocrinologist tested mine back in March. She and my gyn doc said they look good. I don't know how old you are but I don't think it was an unusual request. -
Last I knew cytomel was gluten free. However, I haven't taken the brand name in awhile. Paddock and Mylan make a generic. I have taken both and am currently on the Paddock. I also take generic synthroid, I take Mylan in that too.

A box of these costs me around $5.59 for a 6 oz box that comes with five bars. I could get the bags of it a lot cheeper and make bars myself. Any ideas on what to mix with it? I was wanting to make these for my 6 year old. I thought honey, but he does not like the taste of it. I also just read on their site that they produce a wheat free but not...

There are appx, 10-15% of people with celiac that do not tolerate even certified gluten free oats. I don't tolerate them or cross contamination from them in some gluten free products.

I'll try and keep it short. Really this whole journey for me started while breastfeeding my youngest son who is now almost 6 1/2 years old. He had many food intolerance as a baby so I eliminated all rice, dairy, tree nuts and oats from my diet to help him. Later when I was able to add foods back into my diet is when I started having trouble. Around... -

If you are talking about a nuclear medicine bone scan they inject you with a radioactive isotope that shows the bones on the scan. They look for any abnormal uptake of the isotope anywhere in the skeleton. This can be done to look for stress fractures, bone tumors, osteomyelitis, etc. There also is a bone density scan or DEXA scan that a lot of people... -

I had a normal CBC when my endo found out my ferritin was in the toilet! My level was 4 and that is very, very low!! Until I started to heal gluten free (diagnosis came about 2 years later) my ferritin never went up. I felt like CRAP not only from the low ferritin, but the undiagnosed celiac as well. About 6 months gluten free I was able to tolerate oral... -

From what I can gather from your original post is that both of your kids have had positive bloodwork. There is usually not false positives with these but a lot of false negatives. If you are not done with testing, wanting to get them the upper scope and biopsy, then leave them eating a regular gluten filled diet until it is over. If you are done with testing...
