  1. I would get your celiac panel redone just to see. I did well for the first year gluten free then I started having issues again. Diarrhea, heartburn/reflux, belching, pale stools and pain in my right upper abdomen. I thought it was my gallbladder. Had tests and did find I had a underfunctioning gallbladder but not bad enough for surgery. It was still...
  2. We recently did a gluten challenge on my six year old. It only lasted three days since my husband couldn't tolerate it any longer. Behavior was one of the first things to go plus a stomach ache. He was more fidgety than usual and couldn't keep his hands/fingers out of his mouth (he is a nail biter too). He was very resistant to any requests and then had...
  3. DS2 had both skin testing and the blood (RAST) testing and everything was negative. We tested DS2 for wasp allergy and it was negative on blood work, but then he told me even though it was negative doesn't mean he isn't allergic. It's so confusing.. Anyway all I know, and he agrees with me, is that each time he was stung by a yellow jacket his reaction...
  4. I packed my lunch and all that was required was to run it through the x-ray machine when I first went in. I wasn't sure if I would be chosen so everyday I took enough food for lunch, dinner and a few snacks. I did end up on the second day I reported getting selected for the jury. The case was pretty short and we were dismissed before 3:00. I didn't have...
  5. You will find a lot of people on here that do not believe that IBS is a diagnosis. I, and others feel it is a symptom and that they lable this when they fail to find out what is causing the "irratible bowel". Sure you do have an irratible bowel and your symptoms are real because something is making them that way! I'm with Raven, give the diet a good try...
  6. I wouldn't think a person who is not celiac or gluten intolerent would have withdrawl and negative effects from cutting out gluten nor would have problems when they reintroduce it. But if he does end up with symptoms, perhaps he had a problem with it and was unaware? Either way there isn't any health risks going gluten free. People for ages have survived...
  7. Here is a link for you to review. Open Original Shared Link
  8. I'm just going out on a hunch here. My husband's step mother is from Brazil and the cheese bread she talks about is called pao de queijo (I hope I spelled it right). I make is quite often. I even made my recipe for her and she said it tasted very much like what she ate in Brazil. It is usually made from sour manioc starch/flour, milk, oil, eggs and cheese...

    ARCHIVED Nutella

Gosh, I love the stuff. I buy the big container and it's not big enough!!
  10. Yep the guy in Raleigh, NC.
  11. Well we all know what happened to the bakery guy in NC. So if he keeps it up he will seal his own fate too.
  12. Here is a link for you. Just click on the instructions and usage and it will give you the active ingredient at the top and at the bottom the inactive ingredients. From what I can tell it shouldn't be a problem, but I bet it still tastes bad.. Open Original Shared Link There is vitamin E in the Boudreaux's Rash Protector spray. Sometimes it can...
  13. If she is celiac and you want to continue to breastfeed you will need to be gluten free too. You may consider testing for yourself before you were to go gluten free for her.
  14. Well after today, my little man is back gluten free!! This was something I agreed to do for my husband. I asked hubby how much longer he wanted it to go on and he wants to end it today. He made a comment that our son has been unbearable since Sunday and there was no point to keep it up. This is what we noticed in him. Sat. nothing. Sun. morning he told...
  15. I made these and they smelled really good. I omitted the herbs but did sprinkle the tops with pretzel salt. They were good. My gluten eating husband said he would eat them but the boys didn't like them at all.
  16. Thanks. I may do that and sub the King Arthur mix for everthing except the brown rice flour and the buckwheat.
  17. We have a cat too. She first started coming around when my husband got a pellet gun and was shooting squirrels. She would go get them after he shot them and would eat them up... she was not getting fed, was hungry and so skinny. Sorry guys if there are squirrel lovers on here, but we do have a population problem with them. Anyway, she then befriended...
  18. I know that this will probably generate quite a few passionate responses, but here it goes. I reintroduced gluten today. It's been 4 1/2 months since I took my six year old gluten free. He ate a regular grilled cheese sandwich (he was unaware) for lunch and he ate a slice of regular pizza and a bread stick for supper. There was no immediate reaction. ...
  19. I tend to agree with this on waiting. When I wad first diagnosed I tried so many breads and would compare them to regular bread. I wouldn't eat it, but rest assured, it didn't go to waste. I dried the bread and kept myself in good supply of bread crumbs. With a little itallian seasoning and garlic power they were fantastic. The first thing like real...
  20. I don't think it smells like anything either. My husband likes scented laundry detergent, so a few years back I tried some. He loved the smell, but I began to itch insanely. So now it's back to what I can tolerate. I have found the borax and washing soda at Walmart, Ace Hardware and grocery stores Food City and Ingals. The only place I can find the Fels...
  21. I hear you sister! It was like taking a step back in time. When I was working, I couldn't belive the things I wasn't allowed to do/perform for my job. These were very basic things that I had been doing for 7+ years and was expected to do because it "was" part of my job everwhere else. Ugg! That's one of many reasons why I moved away. Anyway, now with...
  22. Make her a gluten free birthday cake and don't tell anyone. I don't think you are overreacting. Mommies just have a way of knowing when something is not right. We might not always know what it is, but we know something is wrong. If you feel you need to continue with the testing, do it while she is still consuming gluten. You may also want to get her...
  23. I have used crused up Perky's rice cereal and the cinnamom crackers from Ener G. The crushed cinnamon craskers were awesome. I just used them in place of the graham cracker crumbs.
  24. Hey C! Where did you end up finding the GI doc? Hopefully you found a decent one. My mom is seeing an endocrinologist in Erie who refuses to treat her thyroid. Her TSH is mildy elevated even on the old lab values. She claims she isn't having any symptoms, so who knows. When I moved back to the area and was working I was not impressed with the doctors...
