  1. I just found out I have osteopenia, so I'm thinking I should give up cokes. The problem is that I have a pretty mean addiction. Anyone have tips on kicking the cola habit?
  2. Vinegar is safe unless it is malt vinegar.
  3. Just wondering, what's the source of that info? I've never heard that before, or to my knowledge, used a paper plate dusted with corn starch.
  4. How do you know for sure that it contains gluten? Do you have info from the company?
  5. All Method products are gluten free. Open Original Shared Link (look under Product Ingredients)
  6. What about any medications, supplements, lip products, etc.... have you checked those? Also, is your kitchen completely gluten free?
  7. Avoid restaurants and processed foods for a while. You're still new to this and your body needs a chance to heal. Cut out dairy for a while too, if you haven't already. Basically, just eat as simply as you can until you've got this under your belt and can venture out. This adjustment takes time....it took me way over a year before I started to feel better...
  8. I'll eat beans and rice for breakfast sometimes... or leftovers
  9. I thought maybe that...or a freaked-out scuba diver
  10. I'm not up on my emoticon "lingo"...what does this guy mean: ?
  11. Right now, I'm wanting Totino's Pizza. Definitely not worth a cheat, but back in the day I could eat a whole one in one sitting.
  12. Anyone ever crave something gluteny, that if you were ever allowed to cheat, would never be worth it? I just had a random craving for Spaghetti-Os...gak!! EDIT: Just to clarify... this is for a disgusting gluteny food that for some reason you're craving and would never be worth a cheat...like Twinkies?
  13. Mrs. Dash is gluten free and salt free.
  14. Soy is gluten-free, but you could have a sensitivity to soy as well. Are you using a cooking spray? Personally, I would stop eating fried food (even if gluten free) for a while until you've had time to heal. Your system is still most likely very sensitive. Eat as simply as possible until you get a better handle on things.
  15. I was #219. I'll forward this link to my local support group and post on FB. Thanks for taking action!
  16. I see you joined the forum this past March...how long have you been gluten free? It took me over a year to get my bloodwork down to normal levels (originally off the charts). Sometimes doctors can be too quick to say the diet isn't working when it really takes a lot of patience and trial and error. Enjoy Life makes chocolate that is free of all the allergens...
  17. Hey Jason - have you been able to find a local support group where you live? I'm just thinking it may help for you to have people in physical proximity that know what you're going through...I don't know what I would do without mine.
  18. I would have sent it back. Whether or not you have symptoms, small amounts of gluten can cause an autoimmune reaction. Don't be afraid to send food back...restaurants need to get things right, especially when it comes to food issues. Instead of saying you have celiac, which a lot of people may not know of, tell the server that you have a severe allergy to...
  19. Being paranoid is understandable given that all we have to watch out for, but try not to let this disease dominate your life. I've dealt with the paranoia by remembering these points (which I'm reminding myself of right this minute, after cooking my lunch in a gluteny microwave): 1) We live in a world where gluten is everywhere, so you're bound to get...

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it if you don't have a skin reaction from gluten. Are you washing your hands between clients? A good scrubbing would remove any possible gluten. I would hope that you're doing that anyway just to keep things hygenic.
  21. These lists should help you: /celiac-disease/safe-gluten-free-food-list-safe-ingredients-r181/
  22. What does the ingredient label say on the Worcestershire sauce?
  23. actually - today I'm craving nachos from QDoba
  24. Yeah, but I'm craving a *real* one where I don't have to do any work
