  1. I have those at times on my upper shoulders and upper arms. They didn't start going away until I was a year into this. but they come back with a vengeance if I get glutened or if I have anything with potato starch. It's a bummer.
  2. I'm so sorry you are feeling bad but ask yourself which is more important to you. What do you want worse? Your health or your job? You can always find a new job, new friends but if your body lets go you could possibly lose your life. I grew up with the same problems you did, i went gluten free without tests. I've never regretted it. If it came down to a...
  3. Positive biopsy is the Gold standard diagnosis. You are Celiac and the dr is an idiot.
  4. Yes Maam, I have a SO who refuses to go gluten free plus a son. I refuse to cook for them if they want something with gluten in it. I have my own PB, jelly, butter, mayo, ketchup, and I keep it in a cabinet away from their gluten. I have my own skillet that I keep in it's own little spot on the other side of the kitchen away from theirs. I wash all the counters...
  5. Did it have soy in it? Soy hamburgers do that to my stomach.
  6. Welcome to the forums! You are gluten free, you do not have to be diagnosed to post. The forum Coping With is where most of us post our introductions. Have fun!
  7. How long has he been gluten free? Sounds like his insides aren't fully healed yet which means he's still having trouble absorbing meds and vitamins. It's just gonna take time. At least for me it did. Maybe someone else on here can give you better advise. I hope he gets to feeling better.
  8. Hi there Jenn, after 2 years I still make a boo boo every once in a while. It happens, I try not to worry about it. Like last night I guess my son accidently glutened me, wasn't thinking, he offered me a bite of his steak salad and duh, I forgot that he had put croutons on it, and this morning my chest and tummy hurts and i'm having sharp pains run through...
  9. Wow, really good post, couldn't have said it better myself.
  10. And I unfortunately am one of those that react.
  11. Welcome to the forum! Sounds defenitley like a gluten reaction to me. That's what happens to me if I just get a crumb.
  12. Well, first question I have for you is, did you wash your hands after you handled them? If not the residue on your fingers were glutened. Then you handled something later that you put in your mouth. Walla, glutened! Also, if the tortillas were touching any of the other food on your plate it was glutened, therefore you were glutened. Sorry to say you definetly...
  13. I am assuming you are eating a lot of gluten free products? Even though they are gluten free they still have some amount of gluten in them. Sounds like may be a cummulative effect. They are high in carbs and sugars also. Hence gaining weight. I'm sure other posters will have some other ideas about what could cause high numbers. Good luck.
  14. Hah! I got everyone beat I think. Before I went gluten free I had a BM maybe once ever 4 to 6 weeks, for me that was normal. I was like that as far back as I can remember. I can remmeber fighting with my mother and grandmother when I was 9, the were trying to give me an enema. The dr's kept telling me to eat more fiber, kept giving me rx's for differnt...
  15. Hi Courtney, I can remember having growing pains in childhood as well as all through my adulthood too. They are miserable aren't they? It took me almost a year before my shin and leg pains went away. But part of my problem wasn't just gluten but the nightshade vegetables. Potatoes, tomatoes, all bell peppers, eggplant, okra and paprika. They have a toxin...
  16. I did an elimination diet. I had already kicked the gluten out and was feeling ok but still having problems. So I started with nothing but chicken, brown rice and carrots because I knew for a fact those didn't bother me. I ate that for 3 solid weeks, bleah, boring and not very appetising but I felt great. Then I introduced dairy first, bad reactions within...
  17. Yes maam, there are quite a few on here including me that gets those kind of reactions and others too. Rest easy, you're not a freak. All I can say is try to relax, take deep breaths and try taking a nap during those times if you can. Pepto bismol is our friend, lol. Drink lots of water to try to flush what you can out of your system. I personly have gotten...
  18. Oh Mom, hugs to you and your little one. I remember what it felt like having to go to school when I felt bad. There were days when I was just flat out tired, no energy and bad stomach aches. They would range from just slightly achey to sharp stabbing pains with nausea. My parents didn't seem to wanna listen and I was really angry with them. I couldn...
  19. Ever since I was a kid I had had a knot in the pit of my stomach. Social anxiety disorder, clinical depression, no matter what kind of anti depressants I was on that knot never went away. After kicking out the gluten, soy and dairy everything went away even the knot that I thought was natural. 6 months after kicking everything out of my system I tried to...
  20. Hi there, welcome to the forums. I was 205 at the time I went gluten free. No matter how I dieted I could not lose weight even on a 700 calorie a day diet. I am down to 160 now. It wasn't until I went on a whole foods diet that I was able to lose weight. My advise is do not eat any gluten free packaged foods as these are high in carbs and sugars, therefore...
  21. A good 2 to 3 months being really strict.
  22. I had 7 miscarriages in 5 years and had 1 child that was born 2 months premature and I was hospitallised during that preganancy sick as a dog. I would wait until all of your panels come back normal. Your vitamins and mineral panels ok to. Good luck.
  23. Welcome! Take a deep breath, count to 10 and relaaaaxxxxx. You've come to the right place. I'll be 47 in May and I have had problems off and on since I was 8, same as you. In my opinion a slight positive is like being a little bit pregnant. Either you are or you're not. You are at least gluten sensitive if not downright Celiac. You need to go...
  24. Took a good 6 months for me but I had to not only get rid of the gluten but dairy and soy for me before the social anxiety disorder, clinical depression and bad brain fog that I had had for nearly 30 years went away for me. I can only eat a whole foods diet. When I deviate the least little bit my depression and anxiety comes back with a vengeance. Hang...

All gluten free products do that to me, but soy does it to me also. So it could be either one or both.
