  1. Same here. The longer you go unDxed, the worse it seems to be. But it does not mean you cannot heal. It just takes time.
  2. That is where I am right now. Patience and elimination diet. I was very sick for a long time and I do expect a long recovery. Thanks again for telling me about your own recovery from the bone/muscle pain. It is great you can exercise again. I have just started using light weights. Many members, Gemini, lovegrov, et. al. all told me it took them some...
  3. I agree. those articles were for the readers' interest and was not meant to exclude that fact about BC pills. I hope that did not come across that way, dear Lisa. Despite many attempts to regulate my own cycles and control some nasty Peri-menopause symptoms with BC pills, it just made things worse. I wonder if I had known about the celiac back...
  4. You got it! A gut that is permeable or "leaks" is just a part of the picture. Dr. Weil is about the only Doctor who even writes about it: "Leaky gut syndrome is not generally recognized by conventional physicians, but evidence is accumulating that it is a real condition that affects the lining of the intestines. The theory is that leaky gut syndrome...
  5. Hey guys! Same topic, already posted on a different thread--with funny responses from members, if you want to see!
  6. I think you may have the wrong impression here. What you may not realize is, we HAVE BEEN replying to Barry's MANY posts for weeks with "a soft and supportive approach" and we have told him all the exact same things you are saying here and we have done this repeatedly because we care about his success on the gluten-free diet, but he is admittedly,...
  7. I am happy to hear that so many churches are accommodating the parishioners. That's great news!
  8. Dani, I believe late-onset menses, amenorrhea and early peri-menopause ARE celiac-related. There is much written about it. Many Pub Med articles, but here are a few. One study states: "In two large case control studies, researchers examined the incidence of delayed menarche, amenorrhea (cessation of the menstrual cycle for short periods of time...
  9. it's what a very, very tired pinte is sternly told to do
  10. You never disappoint!! Hooray! While I cannot eat either of these two foods right now. I still can look, drool, lick my screen and clap loudly !! yaaay!! P.S. 60 slices of salami!!....oh man, I love salami
  11. I have been tested for allergies. Nothing there.
  12. Magnesium citrate is what they give people before a colonoscopy and YES! that should clear you right out. Stay home if you take that stuff. You will need to be near the bathroom. Hope you get answers soon. Because you have been gluten-free for several weeks, your biopsy may not be valid. Celiac is diagnosed by biopsy, not just by a scope...
  13. .....ooh, that sounds like "yum"!!! your very own (sort of )Larabar and probably a lot cheaper, too.
  14. You cannot lose weight by starving yourself, hon! That messes up your metabolism. You need some variety to keep you interested! There are low carb muffins you can make with almond flour. Open Original Shared Link And returning to gluteny foods will likely cause you to GAIN weight as well as return those symptoms you just got rid of, so...
  15. I had intense bladder pain and urgency, pressure and aching in my abdomen. Went to the ER twice with it over the course of 6 months. Not a UTI. I was getting up many times during the night, only to produce ...nothing. I was tested, scoped, prodded, saw a urogynecologist, etc, etc. I had pelvic floor pain, abdominal pressure, just misery for 3 years. They...
  16. This is very encouraging to hear. Thank you very much for sharing this. I am being very patient with the healing process, but because of the lingering bone/muscle pain, it is not easy some days I do appreciate hearing success stories.
  17. Sounds familiar. I had the vibrating thing too. Weird. Mine feels like I have burning liquid flowing through my blood. Not fun at all. My skin feels like I have the worst sunburn ever. It is worse when glutened. Doc says he cannot explain it except muscle/tissue inflammation and nerve inflammation. It has lessened, but I live with this pain 24/...
  18. It is hard to be patient, but healing times vary. You are on your way to feeling better! Keep us posted. We love to hear when someone feels better!!!
  19. As MAMAW suggests, some people have a continuing problem with C no matter what they try, so if this does not help and the miralax does not help, you may want to be checked for hypothyroidism. Chronic constipation is a major symptom of that and often accompanies celiac. but do give these suggestions from all the others a try first. Best wishes...
  20. You are spot-on about the middle age and older people who are finally DXed after a life time of illness and health problems related to UN-DXed celiac. It's a disgrace. I am one of them. Also, Florida (and my friend lives right where the expo was held) is a state of many retirees--which may also explain- in part-- the large number of over-60 predominantly...
  21. It does get better! You do not sound dramatic at all---your relief is genuine. I did the SAME thing when I came on here last year and saw RAVENWOODGLASS and others posting this same information and reassuring me that my symptoms were gluten-related and I would be all right in time. No doctors could tell me that. I had brain MRIs, EMGs and saw 3 neuros....
  22. xxoo Good girl
