Hello and welcome!
I would suggest you find another neurologist, for one who is informed.

I would suggest you get a full metabolic panel done to make sure you are not deficient in minerals or essential vitamins, as both when not in order, can cause your ongoing symptoms, B-12 and Folic Acid deficiency specifically.

Happy Birthday Soozie....Many wishes to YOU!

Coke and Pepsi are all gluten free.
Often you can find reliable information if you google, for example "Pepsi - Gluten free", such as this:

or through directly to the manufacturer.

Hi Leno,
While your friend is awaiting testing he should have the Celiac Panel, requested from his doctor:
Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG
Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA
Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA
Total IgA level.
Your friend should have an endoscopy exam (small intestines) to detect Celiac Disease. A colonoscopy (large intestine) can look for other things.
Good luck.

I buy deli meat very rarely, due to my concerns with the dedication of those who work behind the counter. I would rather adjust my dietary options....
So I generally buy deli meat prepackaged, from companies such as Hormel or Oscar Meyer and others, who will clearly disclose all forms of gluten on their labels.

Hi Michelle and welcome to you!
My first bit of advise is to keep things simple and it does not mean costly. It's been a long time since I have fed an 18 month old, but I and expecting my first granddaughter soon, so I will be learning once again.
Meats, fish, fresh veggies, rice, potatos, fruit, all in natural form are gluten free.
Here is a list of companies who will clearly list all forms of gluten (ie. wheat, barley, malt and rye). Just read the label and if those words are not there...no gluten)

So hubby treated me to a nice dinner out tonight at a restaraunt I've had good luck with before on the rare occassion of eating out. The chef cooked my dinner. I did cheat on the allergy to milk and had the cream sauce and butter. I can get away with a little milk occassionally with only a reaction that will remain unmentioned. I used to get the neuro, yawning, fatigue, scalp tingles, body pain and confusion type of reaction with no digestive problems. I also admit, I ate more than usual it was so good. Well, my tummy is bloated, burbly and generally complaining more than is normal for me but I don't have any of the neuro symptoms that used to come 45 minutes after exposure.
Has anyone ever entirely switched type of reactions? Maybe it is just the dairy or the binging on a yummy dinner out.
Sauces could always be suspect in restaurants regarding gluten.

Sheez....after reading all this, it is clear that foreigners find English one of the most difficult languages to learn.

In "olden days" it was thought that vinegar was not safe, it now considered safe due to the distillation process. Shredded cheese is mostly dusted with cellulose, which not a gluten concern, but always read labels. Some dressing do contain gluten, but if you buy from one of the above listed companies, all you have to do is read the labels.

Consider doing a food diary and document all foods, lotions, lip treatments, meds, vitamins, etc.... are all gluten free, or perhaps other food intolerances....as already mentioned.
Prilosec is as odd RX. Too much can give you bathroom issues too.

Is dannon yogurt gluten free?
Generally, googling a product name and typing in "gluten free" (Dannon Yogurt - Gluten Free), will generally find you and answer: www.dannon.com
"Dannon Plain yogurts (Low Fat, Nonfat and Natural) and Dannon Plain Activia (in the 24 ounce container) are all gluten safe. However, all other Dannon yogurts cannot be designated as gluten safe because we do not specifically test every ingredient or the overall finished product for gluten."
They further state: "DanActive cannot be designated as gluten safe because we do not specifically test every ingredient or the overall finished product for gluten." www.dannon.com
I prefer Yoplait.

If you have Celiac or otherwise compromised digestive system, you might want to get medical advise before you attempt anything that CureZone sells.
The body has it's own method of detox.
Glamour is wise, when she stated to do your research first.

Hey Thomas, it might be better to stick to the discussion about eggs and gluten.
Eggs are not problem relating to gluten. Cows that graze on wheat, do not contaminate the meat that we consume.

ReadingRacers 22 is now a freshman at Harvard and is busy with his schooling. We are in occasional contact. Most of us here know him as celiac3270.
Ah...I did not know they were one in the same. Among celiac3270's many accomplishments, I fondly remember him by his creative thread "You know you are Celiac, if...."

Here is a more accurate source for the information you listed:

Eggs or Meat would not be a gluten concern, unless it was an added ingredient in the product. Eggs and Meat are naturally gluten free. Many people here do have sensitivities to other foods in addition to gluten.

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day.....have been wondering...whatever happened to ReadingRacer22 and KaitiUSA? They crossed my mind for some reason and was just wondering if anyone knew.
I know that Kaiti married and moved.

I would like to add that I think professional lists can be a god-send to the newly diagnosed for the first year. And I often recommend a couple I have reviewed. After a period of time, label reading is the way to go and lists are no longer needed.
The risks of error when you are new to the diet, far out weighs and occassional incorrectly listed product. I only wish I had a good reference book or a PDA file when I leaped over this cliff five years ago.

They say that it can take up to two years (totally gluten free) for a full recovery. Nero symptoms seem to be the last to come around, after the digestive issues.... (When the bathroom was five seconds away and you needed to be there in four
)
Long after I began the diet, I had this really funky but very real, fear of bridges. I could only walk down a dock by holding someone's hand and I have been around boats, jumping on and off, all my life.
One day, I realized that those issues were gone. So there is hope and keep on doing what you're doing. I live a very normal life and do not feel deprived. Eating out can be a pain, but it's a small concession for feeling well.
Good luck to you all.

I was wondering if anyone has had a Jennie-O turkey recently or knows if they are gluten-free? It's on the menu tomorrow for Thanksgiving and I've not had much luck surfing their site. It's a regular frozen bird. They have everything else under the sun listed but their frozen poultry. Or I'm blind.

im not sure if the fries are gluten-free because they dont have a special place for them, and they usually bake them in with the oils left over from the breaded chicken and other products.
If you are talking about McDonald's, they have dedicated fryers specifically for the French Fries.
Ten pages of this thread is a lot to travel through, but it contains very useful and informative information.
