  1. These are too late for me with my carb issues, but I found a gluten free pringle alternative. These can be purchased on amazon, and luckyvitamin. I will be adding them to my food alternative list next quarter but this just made me fan girl seeing these. Might get some for guest....I can at least chew and spit and not get glutened. 2. I was recently approached by one of my customers who makes moon shine grain free. He is proud that him and one of his other celiac friends came up with the process and got it down. They do craft different flavors with fruit sometimes but most of the time the main brew is simple white oak wood chips, Imperial cane sugar and yeast, fermented and distilled down...
  3. I have recently discovered to stop the D that using a high fiber and potassium helps. Coconut flour baked goods, or coconut itself absorbs alot of liquid and firms up stools, it is also high in potassium. Psyllium husk powder seemed to at least make it a bit more firm. According to nutritional study guides and books I have been reading one of the natural...
  4. Depends if they are scratched...no cleaning out the gluten will be almost impossible. Smooth stainless you have a chance of cleaning them out with good dawn and scrubbing. IF you can see about putting htem in a oven self clean cycle....500F+ breaks down the gluten proteins. Boiling does not....gluten is a protein not a germ so you can not disinfect it, it...

    ARCHIVED Empathy!

You might want to look at this I cover many suggestions on things and have quite a few listed as grain free options... OH if you miss pizza Check out the Califlour Foods Plant based...
  6. HUGE issue with hemp is that in my experience 80% of hemp meal. hemp seeds. hemp protein is gluten contaminated. The issue stems from the major take off of the hemp industry and farmers starting to grow it now in Canada. It is commonly grown in rotation with and in former wheat fields....and utilizing the same harvesting, transporting, and storage equipment...
  7. Bebers and Malk Organics make almond milk without gums, you can always do my cheap way....1-2 tbsp of almond butter and blend it in a few cups of water....During market seasons I make my own stone ground almond butter....when I clean my stone mill, I pour water and run it...the stuff I drain out of it is dang good almond milk I just pour in a pitcher....has...
  8. You can always do veggie steam pouches, just throw veggies in a food saver bag with sauce/seasonings and seal..freeze then stab holes plate, cover, and steam in the microwave. Soups, stews, crockpot meals in batches....I found tovolo ice cream containers can hold and freeze batches of soup in 1liter batches...take out of the freezer zap 7-9mins and voloa...
  9. Well if your celiac....know it can cause further complications, I have damaged nerves, pancreas, and developed other AI disease complications that will not let me eat carbs or sugars anymore without distending and shitting blood.....If I had gotten diagnosed earlier and stuck to the diet none of the other issues would have developed. Also consider how much...
  10. Emergency, I keep Julian Protein Bars, and Miracle Noodle MRE packs with me when I leave, I also take meal replacement shakes. I often take bags of nuts/seeds/cocoa nibs kale chips etc for snacks. I also starting last month started keeping a sealed jar of sunbutter in my under seat storage, You can stick almond butter and sun butter individual pouches and...
  11. I assume you read the newbie 101 thread? You have to decon a the kitchen a bit with appliances and cook ware, and get new condiments jars, etc. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/121148-gluten-free-food-alternative-list-2018-q2/ There is a learning curve, few tips, eat whole foods only first...
  12. They make a enzyme that can break down some of the gluten and lessen reactions, GlidenX is the one I tried this last exposure, I still had symptoms but nothing horrific and painful. Star Anise I used to use for gas, other wise it is laying down and massaging my gut hoping for a quick pass. You mentioned all the others....seems like you tried about it all...
  13. As many know I run a small gluten free cottage bakery, on Main St. in a shared building with a store next door that I help out at to keep rent low that does machine work. Anyway one of the rules that came about for that store several years ago was NO gluten products allowed inside...this came about after a worker poisoned me....that is another story. Anyway...
  14. Well it depends, offical diagnosis can be a damn good reason not to ever cheat, and celiac gluten free is MUCH more restrictive then "Diet" gluten free....we have to have dedicated cookware, dedicated cooking areas, limit where we eat out to places have been trained for gluten free and have dedicated cooking ware/area. Crumbs, flour residue, cross contamination...
  15. Almost sounds like a form of allergy, you can test this theory by taking antihistamines with said offenders and see if you noticed less of a effect. But honestly if you keep a food diary and rotate your diet keeping track of what makes you feel good and bad and cause what symptoms you can build a diet for yourself. I do suggest rotating foods if your prone...
  16. I do grain free breads and baked goods, I see your issue, your missing a binder to hold the air bubbles in with breads I often use 1tbsp of psyllum husk whisked into dry to a 1.5lb loaf to give it that "doughy" gluten texture. Guar gum is also a good one to use (1/4-1/2 tsp to a cup of flour). I also use a ton of eggs white which give it a soft texture for...
  17. This article is one of those "news" things....I swear we have bots that pull half these just to "spark" debates and controversy. Most of them you just ignore. Amusingly the news "bot" has pulled things not even related to celiacs but because ONE SENTENCE mentioned the gluten free diet while covering a unrelated subject. On a side note I think the big...
  18. Hmm their cheeses use a potato base...tried this type before and I pick up on it straight away. I do normally prefer a cashew base, the flavor compliments for a cheese better. Favorites a Leaf Cuisine spreads like the smoked Gouda, and garlic and herb. Tree Line makes some godly ones in other areas, their scallion one is great in french dishes, and for dips...
  19. Celiac would require a gluten challenge......eating gluten daily for 12 weeks straight to get your antibodies up. Not much just a half slice a day but would be hell after being gluten free so long. Open Original Shared Link I have the constipation issues...or used to with my celiac...it now flares the other way. same with my other disease Ulcerative...
  20. Perhaps a Discord chat? Would be interesting......Think you have to check with someone if your going to make a celiac.com one. I do suggest you check your local FB for celiac support groups. I found one in the big city near here for me, and even started a club here for my area.
  21. Varies from person to person, my symptoms change but vary from vomiting, diarrhea, motor control loss, numbness, constipation, and bunches of small other things that are always changing. The initial pain and vomiting pass in a day or, then the pain and D or C come and go for weeks, the numbness I get can last months slowly lessening. You issues might...
  22. I still have my gall bladder...unsure of its health. I consume 70-120g of fiber a day...sorta happens living on on nuts, seeds, and cocoa nibs...I can not consume starch/sugar, carbs or my ulcerative colitis flares up so I live on plant based fats, and plant proteins for food. The digestive dumping thing is a issue for me in the evenings....I have to...
  23. Your responding to a old post...BUT OMG, I can not tolerate animal fats, olive oil, certain others, either. Fish are alright but animal fats have me puking. I found it is a pancreas issue, I can tolerate yolks, olive oil, and other foods better by taking supplemental pancreatic enzymes. But it is amusing how some fats bother me other do not, seems many just...
  24. First off you might want to get tested for Celiac disease, you will have to eat wheat for 12 weeks prior to the testing. Then the following endoscope. Second even if you test negative the gluten free diet obviouly is helpful for you. Here are some links regarding testing and food intolerance issues. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  25. There is such a thing as Refractory Celiac Disease, that does not respond to a gluten free diet. It is very rare. First do you live ina gluten free home? Could you have gluten sneaking in your spices, condiment jars, lotions, shampoo, lipstick, medications/supplements? Do you eat processed gluten free foods? There was bit of a scary study about people on...
