ARCHIVED Becoming more sensitive to other foods, is this a thing?
Ennis-TX replied to Isami's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yeah, I get what I like to call rolling intolerance issues, where I get a food that will make me sick randomly for a few weeks...I found rotating my diet and cuisine works best. Like choose certain greens, nuts, seeds, eat them for a week or so then completely remove them from my diet can find something else for that set of nutrients while maintaining a... -

				ARCHIVED Saccharomyces Boulardii-anybody tried this?
Ennis-TX replied to BarryC's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Umm if you have celiac you paying for it alot more then with just a tummy ache....your upping your chances for secondary complications, other AI disease, chancing your immune system attacking more then just your gut (it attacks my brain and nervous system now), chances of cancer, etc. There are gluten pills like GlidenX but those just make it less noticeable... -
Parts Per Million...like if you cut a sample of communion bread up into a million tiny pieces 20 of them are gluten...supposedly this is the upper limit of what most celiacs can tolerate (FDA claims)...some people are more sensitive this this, but many find a once in a while dose under 20ppm to not do any harm. I have reacted to daily exposure to something...

Many threads on this with multiple option, there are the low gluten wafers....and my personal favorite if you have understanding pastor/priest....I bring my own gluten free bread, have it blessed and served separate to me. I believe god would be alright with this and does not wish me to be sick.

Ennis-TX replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Yeah I make my own yogurt with nut milk, and extra nut butters to make it extra rich, thicken with coconut flour and add swerve sweetener (has a solvable fiber the probiotics love) sometimes I put in a protein powder, or konjac for them also then dump in 2x 50 billion nature way fortify and let it thicken up into yogurt over night. >.> I use the whole... -

ARCHIVED What Are You Cooking For Easter?
Ennis-TX replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Grew up on miracle whip...I use primal kitchen Avocado Mayo now in recipes...pairs well with siracha sauce >.> You can do dairy based desserts with dairy alternatives, expensive but holidays are worth it. Kite Hill Makes a cream cheese that is pretty good (has xantham only down side). I have made a avocado mousse cake over almond meal pie crust and... -

ARCHIVED How quickly does gluten-free begin to help?
Ennis-TX replied to DevilGluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Should be fine it can take days or weeks for antibodies to come back down after exposures for some people longer. >.> I would have binged out with a monte cristo...call it a obsession but that and monkey bread are some of my old favorites...I actually have told close family if I am dying in a hospital to bring me one I will reserve my last gluten meal... -

				ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips
Ennis-TX replied to DevilGluten's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yep I use their chocolate chunks, and chips often in my bakery for stuff that does not require sugar free. Personally I love Lakanto Bars, but I have to avoid sugar, dairy, and soy which are in others. I complied a bit of a list of many gluten free products. We suggest a whole foods only diet at first avoiding dairy and oats, to boost healing for when you... -

				ARCHIVED Spicley organics vs McCormick
Ennis-TX replied to Jherm21's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Gluten no...had one batch of cinnamon with a bad grind that was sand texture...I buy 1lb a month and it only happened once in over 6 years. Had a batch of szechuan pepper corns that was mostly twigs last year.....Just know most of their seasonings lack salt, and are chef style so they are not overly powerful but subtle and to compliment dishes not smother... -

				ARCHIVED Shared Equipment
Ennis-TX replied to 1mpassioned's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Do not buy from them? Buy the products and have them tested by a lab, then if positive file lawsuit? File complaints. Not really much we can do, I trust a few things from companies like Beanitos says same facility but tested negative and I have never known a celiac who get sick from them. I have used a collagen powder same thing where it says facility...- 1 reply

				ARCHIVED Spicley organics vs McCormick
Ennis-TX replied to Jherm21's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The Spicley I got, was good, it is unsalted so their is that, I add a bit more cumin when I use it but I grew up in a Mexican family. Vanilla I use LorrAnn, you can generally find it in the specialty cake section of Walmart not with the bakery items. -
Eating out should also be avoided....its like Russian roulette. Look for gluten-free certified deli meats for making your own at home...I used to just roll up the meats with dairy free cheese spreads in them. Heck you can slice deli meats into fettuccine like strips and use in stir fry, soups or chopped in omlettes etc. Simple soups, stews omelettes, stir...

Welcome we all have our own horror stories and many have had long struggles with diagnosis. I am sort of the forum sheldon, I have aspergers and looked to postive side of my disease, and opted to do what I was doing and enjoyed, I started a small gluten free bakery and do chef jobs for people. I also got a ton of complications from this disease, other AI...

				ARCHIVED Every Dessert Flavor gluten-free
Ennis-TX replied to Ennis-TX's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Exactly...I licked a drop off the bottle once...straight up extracts like that....it numbed my tongue lol I JUST wanted that flavor and wondered what it would be like ultra concentrated... bad idea...I found testing flavors is best done by pouring 1/4 cup almond milk (2oz) into a measuring cup sweetening to taste then adding 2 drops whisking and trying and...- 9 replies

				ARCHIVED Mishaps with Toaster
Ennis-TX replied to Eleanor Roosevelt's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Considering how we can react to crumbs, residue, etc. I would personally just get a new one if it is a cheap pop up on. If a expensive deck one, the rack can be removed and placed in a oven at 500F self clean to destroy the proteins. Talk to your boyfriend about it, and see how he wants to approach it. You can always clean out and gift the old one or sell...- 4 replies

ARCHIVED Dunkin Donuts Charges For Bread
Ennis-TX replied to Kizworld's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Your better off not eating there....I bet more then 50% chance that what you got was grilled on a contaminated surface, with contaminated flipper and hte guy did not even change gloves between fixing yours and fixing the guys on the bread....you get gluten CC from residue and crumbs even that will flare up your disease....gluten is a protein smaller then... -

This is a old post with the last poster being from 2010. If your having issues you might want to start a new thread to better address your symptoms. NOTE constipation with celiacs can be caused by multiple factors the No1 being magnesium deficiency, which will require you to take stuff like Natural Vitality Calm which is a magnesium Citrate which will also... -
My last scope set they removed one from my colon and one from my stomach. They came back with a biopsy later and nothing was found. I would say do not worry about and be glad they removed them.

Never considered this, I know casein makes my Asperger flare up....But I have never gone a meal without some form of lutein foods in 2 years....always eating spinach, kale, romaine or small amounts of broccoli, but I need the vitamin A and vitamin K. Something to consider I guess, but on this I would have to supplement them I guess. UC is under control and...

I just really do it on the fly....been eating it every day for lunch and sometimes breakfast for the past few weeks. Look up nut meal porridge for ideas...- 9 replies
