  1. I drink the Woodchuck granny smith cider. It has a pleasant taste and it looks just like a Heineken bottle. Chances are no one will know the difference.
  2. I believe taco bell has a few things that are gluten free, but i could be mistaken. McDonalds and Wendy's both have gluten free menus online, but they aren't available in the restaurants. Outback, Bonefish Grill, and Carrabba's all have gluten free menus on site at each location as well as PF Changs. Chili's has a gluten free menu that they can e-mail you...
  3. 1. There are plenty of false negatives out there, but virtually NO false positives. 2. I think there are 5 components to the celiac panel. CarrieFaith??? Where are you??? 3. You don't "catch" Celiac. 4. Your doctor sounds like a real piece of work. It might be in your best interest to get a second opinion. I wish you the best of luck in your quest...
  4. It took me months to regain any kind of energy level after going gluten free. It took me two years (and still working) to get ALL the gluten out of my diet so that I could feel better. I still suffer from fatigue a little, but it's nothing near what it used to be. Just out of curiosity... Does he show any signs of sleep apnea? I know that can cause major...
  5. Has anyone heard about that new Black Cherry Vanilla Coke? I had seen a few weeks back that someone called on it and they had said they'd have to look into it further because they weren't sure. I can't remember who it was and I can't find the old post. Anyone have new info?
  6. Tinkyada pasta will DEFINITELY become her favorite food if she's a pasta lover. You can buy the Kraft powdered cheese in a shaker bottle and make her "Kraft" mac & cheese w/ the Tinkyada noodles. It tastes exactly like the real thing. If you don't mind the sugar overload, Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles are both gluten free. The envirokidz cereals...
  7. The Incredible Edible Gluten Free Cookbook for Kids is AMAZING!!! Every single thing that I've made from that book tastes EXACTLY like the "real" thing. I'm very impressed. It's the only gluten free cookbook that I've bought, and the only gluten free cookbook I'll ever need. It's great!
  8. Wow, Vincent, I didn't find anything on the tempora paint, but LOOK!!!
  9. I never got sick on Outback's bleu cheese until a few weeks ago. It made me feel REALLY glutened. Are you guys sure that the recipe didn't change? I never got sick on it before and that's what I always ordered.
  10. I'm so sorry to hear about the kid(s). Don't worry, it WILL get easier. We've been gluten free for two years now and frankly, I don't even miss gluten anymore. I've found tasty substitutes for everything by now and honestly, my gluten free stuff is WAY better than the gluten stuff. My daughter doesn't have celiac, or at least hasn't been diagnosed or tested...
  11. Rice vinegar is safe. Distilled vinegar is supposed to be safe, but some celiacs have reported reactions to it.I hope that helps.
  12. Molly, if anyone can overcome this, you can. I'll be praying that you have a speedy recovery and can continue doing the things that you enjoy sooner rather than later.
  13. Hi. If I were you I would get myself a copy of the Incredible Edible Gluten Free food for Kids. It has amazing bread recipes including a to-die-for banana bread recipe AND a white bread recipe. There's also a graham cracker recipe (which I haven't tried yet, but it looks good). Every single thing that I've made from this book has been outstanding! I highly...
  14. Also, you'll want to be sure that the surface he's eating his lunch on is extra clean. We've found that just because you can't see gluten, doesn't mean it's not there. Maybe you could pack a sanitizing wipe in his lunch box so he could wipe the table off and his hands off before eating. Good luck! I hope you get some answers soon!
  15. Wal-Mart's GV brand is gluten free. It says it right on the jar.
  16. Could these symptoms be caused by malnutrition (from the lack of absorbtion caused by celiac)?
  17. Linda's right. It's mostly white rice, brown rice, potato starch, and tapioca flours. They also use xantham gum in almost everything. Honestly, though, the stuff in this book is WAY better than any other gluten free recipes that I've tried for breads/cookies. Enjoy!!!
  18. Ha... Well, technically I was talking about my two year old... But, YES... He's definitely "young at heart".
  19. Okay, I have to admit that I'm not big on cookbooks. I've never been able to follow a recipe in my life because they just don't use enough this or add enough that. Anyway, this cookbook is absolutely amazing!!! I'm ready to go out and buy all the gluten free cookbooks on the market. I made crustless quiche, banana bread, and snickerdoodles out of this book...
  20. We went to the Dixie Stampede in Orlando and they prepared me a gluten free meal. Well... They didn't really prepare anything special, but they only served me the "safe" items on the menu and they seemed knowledgeable.
  21. I've never been diagnosed with RLS, but I think I have it. I have an insatiable urge to move the lower part of my body (it sometimes gets so bad that I have to arch my back too). I've found that when it's keeping me up sometimes a heating pad turned on high (I know, you should never use a heating pad on high) will relieve the worst of it. It hurts, but I...
  22. Every time I go to Outback there are always little crumbs from the croutons in my salad. It doesn't look as though someone picked croutons off of it, it just looks like cheese is stored near the croutons. Maybe that's how you got sick. I feel glutened from there occasionally (we eat there all the time).
  23. Dear Guest: In regards to your notation....The buffalo wing ingredients are as followed: Ingredients: Chicken wing sections, water, wheat flour, modified food starch, sodium phosphates, salt, seasonings (salt, oil of garlic), COATED WITH: hot sauce (fresh red ripe peppers, distilled vinegar, salt), water, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, chili pepper...

Also, be aware that their bleu cheese dressing just went OFF the gluten free list.
  25. On Sesame Place's website they say that they're willing to work with special diets/allergies. Has anyone tried this with them?
