  1. I love Edy's Chocolate Ice Cream!!! It is SO smooth and creamy. I hear that the Slow Churned is even better and it is Light!
  2. Thanks for sharing! We have 2 really close to us!
  3. I may have checked the wrong thing. I chose "positive bloodwork, negative biopsy" but never did the biopsy b/c I had such a positive dietary response (didn't know not to go gluten-free before GI appt). So my response probably should have been other b/c it was positive bloodwork, positive dietary response. I also had multiple symptoms on the list.
  4. I agree. Antihistamines shouldn't help with glutening b/c Celiac is not an allergy.
  5. I am doing very well in my recovery, thanks for asking. I am 33 now, but started with anorexia at 15 (got down to 95 lbs at 5'7" tall). I was recovered the first time by 17, but never had counseling and was never told that I could relapse. Last year at 32 and 2 kids later, I found myself back in my old habits.....obsessing about my weight (more specifically...
  6. You can actually buy the cheese mix for the mac & cheese in a small canister (almost like parmasen cheese) and it is made by Kraft. I use Tinkyada noodles and this cheese all the time. I can't tell the difference....I actually think it may be better than Kraft! I do believe that you are right on the Lipton Onion Soup Mix. Kroger has a number...
  7. I usually avoid McD's and do Chick-fil-a fries instead. I have also done take-out from Red Robin, Cheeseburger in Paradise and Ted's Montana grill b/c they have dedicated fryers (at least at the locations that I use).
  8. The IgG was Anti-gliadin...sorry!! Yes, does a gluten-free diet improve the IgA deficiency or would that remain.
  9. That sounds yummy!!!
  10. I haven't. I eat their bagels and pretzels. I was also going to suggest another intolerance. Maybe keep a food diary for a while and see if you can't nail down what it is. I know that soy is another big one for me, as are some bean flours and dairy.
  11. That is awesome!!! I love my dining cards too and they have been the best investment that I have made so far. It really does help simplify the communication between you and the whole staff.
  12. Long story short.....my nutritionist suggested I get tested for Celiac and rule it out (I had been diagnosed with IBS and was trying to recover from an eating disorder). My PCP ordered the tests (I had no idea what the tests involved at this point in time ~ Dec 2005). The results came out IgG was positive at 55 (should be under 20). Anti-gliadin IgA was...
  13. Thank you for posting that!
  14. THanks for sharing!! I wish I would have thought about emailing them before I went on vacation...it could have come in handy a few times.
  15. I would like to hear about it too. I almost picked it up the other day, but got distracted by the kids.
  16. Very scary. I eat this stuff all the time. Maybe it is time to switch to whole romaine and lettuces and cut it up myself.
  17. YUM!!!! I am having my first Bard's Tale Dragon's Gold right now!! Very good. Hope to try the New Grist as soon as I can find it.
  18. I just found some of this beer today at a local store!!! I was looking for New Grist (MIL said they had it for $8.99/6 pack, and they do, but they are sold out and waiting for more) and found Bard's. I am anxiously awaiting them to chill in my fridge so I can try one tonight!
  19. I just got back from Sunset Beach, NC (and we ate out in N. Myrtle Beach). We ate out at The Crab House. I contacted the manager via email before going and they were very helpful. I was able to eat pretty much any fresh fish, grilled or broiled and salad. The manager even offered to prepare a fruit cup for dessert, but I was full. I also brought along...

    ARCHIVED Pms Mood Swings

Mine have gotten worse too!! I wasn't sure if it was due to the gluten-free diet or not, but the timing sure seems to correspond. I don't really get b*tchy, but I seem to cry at the drop of a hat and that is not like me, unless I am really mad. I do take Lexapro for anxiety, but it doesn't seem to help with the PMS...LOL!!
  21. Hi and welcome! I agree with what everyone said and please have your kids tested. I only had a positive IgG test (all other tests were negative) and had a very positive dietary response....Celiac or gluten sensitivity? Doesn't matter to me, I feel MUCH better. I finally convinced my kids Ped to test my DS (10) to rule it out. It took me 6 months to convince...
  22. I wouldn't eat the gluten either. I do have hypoglcemia, too, but usually keep a coke with me or some Hershey's kisses in my purse to help in times of need. I think if it were for a long, extended period of time, there would be something that I could survive on...fruit, nuts, fritos, potato chips....not necessarily choice items, but things to get me through...
  23. Poor little guy!!! DS (recently tested positive tTG for Celiac, awaiting GI appt) has asthma, anxiety, constipation, behavioral issues and stomach pain. He is in the 75% for height and weight, so dr never suspected Celiac with him. I think everyone is different with their symptoms. I hope they get some answers for the little guy so he can feel better...
  24. Love, love, love my Triumph Dining Cards!!! It really does help the restaurant staff to understand our situation and it is so much easier to have them read the card and say a few words about it then it is to try to explain it all without the cards. I ordered my cards and the dining guide right from their website and got it pretty quickly. Good luck...
  25. I don't have much advice, but I can certainly identify with you. I had to practically beg our Ped to test DS and he wouldn't test DD b/c she didn't have any symptoms at all. DS came back with a highly positive ttg (222 when it should be under 20) and I am VERY glad that I forced the issue. I can't believe that little boy's dr didn't mention a diet...
