  1. Rachel ~ ITA with you on this! When we were at the end of our rope two years ago with Carleigh's health issues, I found an allergist three hours away that treats with sublingual therapy (drops under the tongue). This has been done in Europe many years succesfully treating people with allergies. Combined with eliminating gluten, she is feeling much...
  2. Sandy, you make a very valid point about the exhaustion and day to day living that they may feel. I had not thought about it from that point of view. Thanks. Maybe I should buy them a bag of Tinkyada pasta and some of Carleigh's favorite store bought stuff or a few frozen meals to try. I guess I was thinking more from my point of view with Carleigh...
  3. We also have a bell hanging on the sliding door to the back yard. It works great!! I'm sure the puppy will learn pretty quickly, esp. with being in a crate. That is also how we trained both of the dogs we have had. Congrats!
  4. I didn't see this show, but I did TIVO Oprah and need to watch it. It does make me sad, though, because I know a couple of people who have Austistic kids. I've mentioned to them that in my quest to help Carleigh feel better that I've seen a lot on the how much some Autistic kids benefit from the gluten-free/CF diet. I told them that I could help them...
  5. Interesting blog!! Thanks for posting it. I really do wonder what people think over there. I think we get such a slanted view of things over here from the media.
  6. Oh no! Prayers for little Sylvia and your family!!
  7. Saying a prayer for wisdom for those caring for your BIL and for your family. ((hugs))
  8. Thanks for that recipe!! I'm printing it off to try this week too!!
  9. Thanks so much for that information!! We will be heading through there next month ~ we go to LaCrosse and back in the same day. So we end up eating dinner in Rochester on our way home usually. Carleigh would flip for some gluten-free pizza at a real restaurant! I am also thrilled to hear about Victoria's!! We'll have to try it sometime!!
  10. awww! Look at that sweet picture!! I used Mylicon drops too. I would think that the broccoli would be out of your milk now. Hopefully she will get better soon.
  11. ((Paula)) ~ I'm sorry to read this! Prayers for you and your family!
  12. Happy, Happy Birthday, everyone!
  13. Sometimes gluten-free baked goods come out better in smaller pans like muffin tins and square pans.
  14. Me too! Adorable picture!! She looks like you!
  15. Ursa, I'm so sorry to read of the trouble you are having with Medic-Alert! Coupled with another story I recently heard, I'm a bit concerned. Carleigh also wears a Medic-Alert bracelet (and I need to update her tag too). A classmate of Carleigh's has allergies also and wears the sports band type. They were at a Waterpark and it came undone. The facility...
  16. ITA. My dd has multiple food allergies and environmental allergies. I do notice that the dark circles come back in the spring and fall due to the EAs. We up the antihistamine and she usually needs her inhaler more. ((hugz)) as you continue on this crazy journey we are all on!
  17. Yummy! I was thinking of making some cookies today! Will have to add coconut to my shopping list for next time.
  18. Thanks Patti!!
  19. Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was great!!
  20. Congrats!! I'm hoping for similar news next month!
  21. Hi Skypie! Yes, I'd love to know where you like to eat too. We go through Rochester to go to the allergist. It would be great to know the places to eat other than Wendys. I had the best Italian food at Victorias a few years ago (before gluten-free).
  22. ((hugs)) I have been there!! Hope your son is feeling better soon. It is my #1 pet peeve that a lot of the restaurants have people that don't really understand English working there.
  23. I second that! I have made my dd chocolates for Valentines Day and Easter using the little plastic molds that are at Michaels. They're only a few dollars and then you've got them for next time. I have also made sugar cookie cut-outs using pumpkins, bats, ghosts. Last, I just saw a really cute thing with cupcakes arranged and frosted appropriately...
  24. That's so GREAT that they had Redbridge @ State Fair! We did not go this year, maybe next year we will. Great game on Sunday! Hope you found some beer!
  25. You can also have them get the ice cream (or sorbet, in our case) from a NEW container in the back. Then there is no x-contamination with the new container and new scoop.
