  1. The proteins are similar from what I understand, so it is important to introduce them slowly.
  2. I recommend "The Gluten Free Diet: A Comprehensive Resource Guide" by Shelly Case! Very good!
  3. The way I see it, there is no WAY he can win. Just because he is not in the bottom 3 does not mean he is not bottom 4 or 5....we just never know. It's tot bad us Canuks have to wait until Canadian Idol to vote....maybe we couls help get it right and get rid of Sanjaya.
  4. I can say from experience, that the Caeaer dressing has wheat in it. I am not sure about the blue cheese, but I think I rememebr seeing it on the list of products from Kraft that were okay!
  5. And in those fresh clothes, cleaning out the dog house so hubby has a new place to sleep! LOL
  6. I just got back from a visit with my parents in Calgary, and I have to say, after living in Moose Jaw for so long, the amount of gluten-free foods available at the local Safeway and Sobey's close to my parents' house was awesome. My new favourite is the "PURE" cookies. They are a local to Calgary company, and they make the best chocolate chip cookies...
  7. Bob's Red Mill makes a great gluten-free pizza mix. We haven't tried it on a stone, but it is awesome on a normal pizza tray. Can't imagine it would be any different on a pizza stone. Lucky you for getting one from pampered chef...I'm jealous.
  8. My drive has come back with a vengence. that's for sure. I had the lack of energy which had translated (or so I thought until now) into ED, causing a HUGE strain on my marriage. It is nice to see we have a "guys" thread here now as well.

    ARCHIVED Taxes

My father is an accountant, and he tells me you also need a letter from your doctor confirming the diagnosis, and you should have receipts for your gluten-free foods, and they should also be stamped Gluten Free. IT is true that the difference in cost is what is deductable, and if you do a lot of baking etc, there is some crazy formula to figure out which...
  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTI! Sorry if I'm late....hope you have a wonderful time!
  11. Lisa, Good luck with everything in Calgary. Hugs and prayers with you on your trip. Sorry about your friend and her HUGE ego. She obviously doens't understand how important/nerve racking these things can be. We all understand though. Please keep up posted, and travel safely.
  12. I was watching the late night news from Regina, and they were doing a healthe segment on a "niche market". It turns out that there is a company here in Saskatchewan called FamePure. It is now 5 companies and a whole army of growers who are going to manufature things made from oats. Oats that are free from contamination by wheat, rye and barley!! They...
  13. Orange flames also burn cooler than blue. Again, could be improper combustion, so maybe using the hood/exhaust fan if there is one.
  14. A gluten free paradise cult farm refugfe for celaics and NO bathrooms? WHo is in charge of the MASSIVE oversight commitee? LOL

    ARCHIVED House

I like House because he is persistant. Also, his little sarcastic "I don't suffer fools lightly" attitude makes me laugh. I have to agree that the epeisode where the mother drowned her kid because celiac disease made her crazy is a little far fetched, but again, we all went through how many trials and tribulations before we were diagnosed? Besides whose...
  16. There are members I am aware of in all elements of the CF that are deployed. WHen I go away, I inform the mess managers and they make an effort to let all the cooks know about my condidtion and diest (as they would for any food allergy). They also expect me to be smart enough to avoid foods I can not have. As for deploying to the field, there are people...
  17. As a member of the Canadian military, I am appaled at this! There are no limitation to me AT ALL as far as where I can go or what I can do in the Canadian Forces as a person with celiac disease. In fact, there are people deployed around the world with celiac disease. I would have to think with numbers like 1 person in 133 that have celiac disease it would...
  18. I have had the mandarin orange salad with no problems. The manager where I went was also very helpful in selecting an alternate dressing as the one that is supposed to go with that salad has gluten in it. I had the honey mustard one, and it was delicious.
  19. Sandy, That's one of the funniest jokes I have read in a while. THank you for sharing. Glad the test came back okay.
  20. I agree with Sandy. All dogs at the basic level are scavengers. IT may not mean anything missing from thrie diet, but if they are playing, or think the BRAND NEW sod smells good (or better than anything else in the yard), they will eat it. You may have to consider fencing off the area or finding another way to keep the girls off of it until it takes...
  21. Rachel -- I was shocked as well, but I have notbeen following the news a lot recently, and was not aware of the baby, nor of all the plastic surgery she had had. SHe did not even look like herself at the end! It was sad for sure.
  22. OMG!!! I always wondered what all that meant. Now I may not be in so much trouble when I get "nothing" and am silly enough not to run for cover.
  23. LOL
  24. I wouldn't say I HATE it eactly. I would not CHOOSE this if I could! I would however say that it is more than mildly inconvienient.
  25. THey usually appear more organized than that. I hope the information you directed them too allows for an on air correction. Let us know how it turns out.
