6 Months For Me Today

It has been exactly six months today since my celiac diagnosis. What a difference the last six months have made. I haven't had one single migraine, hope they never come back. Still on all the heartburn meds, tried a few days without them which was a very bad idea. I think I will keep them around. I went from eating anti-nausea pills like candy 6 months ago to only having to refill my script once since. Normal poop for the first time in my life. I still have so many more things that can resolve anytime now, but I know I am still in for a long haul and need to be patient. Instead of having more bad days then good, they are about even. All in all, it's been a good six months and I hope the next six go even better. Now to just get well enough to be able to go back to work. A person can hope, right?

Nice to see the improvement!!  Heartburn was one of the first things I noticed that went away.  I've taken Tums once since I went gluten-free and that was more precautionary.  I even had some grapefruit juice yesterday not long before I went to bed.  That would have given me heartburn without question a few months ago, nothing last night at all.

Thank you guys. It is pretty great.

I'm also amazed at how celiac doesn't consume my life as much as it did a few months ago. I can go out with friends and not talk about celiac all night. People are getting used to my weird quirks and don't even bat an eye any more. Life is good

I'm just 3 weeks in and pleasantly surprised with the results. Especially with my energy levels and the fact that I actually feel nourished by food. In a sense that I am gaining weight and I feel for once in my life that I actually need to control what and how much I eat because it controls how much weight I gain/lose.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not a good feeling to be able to eat whatever you want and remain thin and malnourished

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
