OK, so here is the absolute worse thing, I've EVER had to clean up. My previous old girl, Maggie, had a (sweet?) tooth for cat poo. The neighbors behind us have a cat that comes and uses our mulch as a litter box. When Maggie was younger, it would give her hellaceous gas. When she got older and started having some GI issues, it would cause her to vomit. It would be partially digested and the stench was undescribable. Vomitous cat poo . . . nothing like it!

Rest of the page would be covered with green emoticon guy if he was available.

Hope y'all are having a lovely Sunday morning. :P

OMG- that's what I feel like today- vomitous cat poo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you chocolate with barley malt

Nikki- I ADORE your mole!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much cuter than mine.

OGM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listen to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so I met my friend at Mervyn's - I HATE that store (much prefer Target or all kinds of other places) and, since she only bought two pairs of shoes, I did not get one. Oh well, didn't want any.............but she DID buy me a late lunch/early dinner.

OMG - - we went to this little somewhat Italian bistro - there are four or five here in the valley. I was telling the waiter that I couldn't have any gluten - he gave me a blank stare  and said - our chef can't eat wheat. Great, I said , it's a little more complicated than that......but send him out.

OMG OMG OMG OMG - -

so the chef comes out and says,

I HAVE CELIAC DISEASE ALSO!

:o

Nothing funny to add tonight. Saturday was a busy day and I didn't get here at all. Just catching up now.

Happy birthday, Les. :)

A celiac's dream: Going to a restaurant and discovering that the chef is a celiac. Wow! :):)

US Thanksgiving is in just a few days. Who is having the Yeti over for the turkey dinner? ;)

Here in Canada we have our Thanksgiving the second Monday in October, so it is is over for this year. But, since I have allegience to both Canada and the US (dual citizen) I am well aware of the American version. Unless you are totally demented, don't even try to go shopping on Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Well, it IS lovely trying to figure out whether Maggie was an animal or a kid! The first time through I was thinking you were talking about a child!:o :o

Well, Maggie (the dog) was in my av awhile back. I just assumed everyone saw/remebered her. But just to clarify . . . we never let our children play with lathes and we never let our children snack on cat poo!

Well, he can come to my mom's. What's one more? He shouldn't be all that much trouble. After the big turkey dinner, I'm sure he'll curl up in the corner and take a nap.

 ...AND you said dagnabbit!

I just don't understand how people can stay in and NOT go get some of the deals on Friday. I would go crazy.

Right now, I'm tormented... I can't decide whether to buy the boys Optimus Prime transformers for Christmas... they want them soooo bad, but some of the other Transformers they have fall apart all the time. It drives Ez crazy, and then he drives me crazy.

The new toys aren't well-made!

Believe me when I say . . . It is really easy for me to NOT go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Plus, I like to have most everything done by then . . . otherwise, I get panicky that I'm not going to get it all done! This is the ONE thing that totally goes against my typically procrastinating nature.

It's after midnight . . . I'm turning into a pumpkin . . . GoodNight Sillies!

Gahhhhh...What a birthday party over here...beginning to clean up. I believe there were twenty of us (my brood, my two siblings and their grown kids, grandkids and three great-grandkids)...I have a SUPERB shot of my dad as...incredibly..himself. I had trouble remembering it was him. I kept looking at this old man, without a full beard and moustache, no long, flowing tresses or bright red lipstick, no body piercings or Cyrano de Bergerac nose, and thinking, "who IS that elderly gentleman?" I am trying to put this pic up as my avatar, but it keeps telling me that it's too big, even though it is no bigger than other ones I've used before. I'm trying to crop it...Grrrrrr... Carry on!

The yeti........well, he's still at Nik's, there will be a transatlantic flight involved here, does he have a passport? oh wait.........I don't think mythical creatures are required to carry such inanities...........

They said the Yeti could fly without a passport as long as he will entertain the other patrons on the flight. Does he know any pilgrim stories or Thanksgiving songs?

Can we dress him in colonial attire?

Somebody else can measure his inseam this time!

I'm wondering...there may be security issues with the yeti flying from Europe into the States. They may perhaps suspect that he is a terrorist in a large, furry costume. Our yeti is SO big, and Osama Bin Laden is about 6 foot 6...might they suspect? He'll be carrying no luggage, will be saying nothing...flags could well go up. Oh! What do you think the chances are of his name (or one very like it) being on the extensive no-fly list?! Perhaps there is a suspected terrorist named YETI, as well! Like, Momnar Yeti, or Yeti Bin Laden. Geez, all these things we have to think about now....

Once he's gone through passport control it's out of my hands and frankly I can't stand long goodbyes...a yeti crying in public...the stares & looks

:lol::lol: Excellent!!!

Bobbing bobcat here (OMG sooo crap) ....but I ain't finished yet !!!!!

...and can I just say your 'Black Friday' sound heinous + evil and only for those with nerves of steel !!!

We do have Malls here in the UK - *mutters* EVIL.....In hell they make you go Christmas shopping ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

So exhausting, makes my feet hurt....the queues, the people pushing and shoving, the heat .... <_<

Our big sales are after xmas on 'Boxing Day' (do you have this??) on the 26th...ugghh!!!

OH, and forgive my ignorance but WHAT are you peeps giving thanks for???

EDIT: Dutch Oven

CarlaB Enthusiast

I think the Yeti will get through just fine .... they're not allowed to profile and search based on looks, so they'll let him through just to prove they don't.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
